The heavy brass cylinder of the Mana Jammer sat in the center of the courtyard. It was the size of a wine barrel and weighed over a thousand pounds. The White Lotus blacksmiths had worked through the night to cast the casing from the melted Infernal Iron. Ignis had spent the morning carving the intricate magical circuitry into the dark metal.
It was ugly. It was brutal. But it pulsed with a contained and terrifying energy. Kael and Elara had spent an hour charging the internal core with a fusion of Solar and Holy mana. The device hummed with a low vibration that made the silver grass tremble.
Valeria stood before the machine. She wiped the soot from her hands.
"The core is stable," Ignis reported. The Dragon leaned heavily on his cane. "The frequency disruptor is primed. Once we activate the runes it will create an absolute magical dead zone. Any dimensional tear within a one mile radius will violently collapse."
"Then we have our weapon," Valeria said.
