The God of the Frozen Wastes was nothing more than a pile of ordinary, melting grey ice on the surface of the mirrored lake. The oppressive, chaotic labyrinth of shifting mirrors had completely dissolved. The summit of the Northern Peak was finally quiet.
Valeria and Silas walked side by side across the perfectly smooth, hyper dense ice. Their combat boots made no sound against the flawless surface. They approached the massive, towering glacier that sat exactly in the center of the plateau.
The glacier was a breathtaking structure of celestial engineering. It was easily the size of a grand cathedral, composed entirely of pristine, diamond clear ice. Trapped within the absolute center of this frozen monument was the northern elemental node. It did not look like a ruby geode or a sapphire pearl. The node was a massive, perfectly formed crystal of pure white quartz.
But the quartz was profoundly sick.
