Chapter 90 - Chapter 90 Jinchūriki Attacks

Minato Namikaze and Jiraiya's actions had severely impacted the Iwagakure's operations in the Land of Grass.

After the war with Konoha began, Iwagakure's Ninja were engaged in such fierce combat with Konoha Ninja that they couldn't spare any effort to deal with Minato Namikaze and Jiraiya.

However, even if they had the energy, it wouldn't have mattered, because Minato Namikaze's Flying Thunder God Technique was simply too unreasonable.

Not only could Minato Namikaze run fast himself, but he could also bring others with him at high speed.

The losses Minato Namikaze and Jiraiya had caused them were already substantial.

Now, because Iwagakure and Konoha were ambushed by Hidden Cloud Village and Hidden Mist Village respectively, the fighting between the two sides in the Land of Grass was no longer as intense as it was initially.

The Iwagakure Ninja originally thought that since the fighting with Konoha Ninja had lessened, and their rear was ambushed by Hidden Mist Village, Minato Namikaze and Jiraiya should also be retreating, right?

Heh, not at all!

Minato Namikaze and Jiraiya were still active behind the Iwagakure's lines, constantly launching sneak attacks.

Even more infuriating was that two days prior, Minato Namikaze and Jiraiya secretly infiltrated an Iwagakure outpost.

Jiraiya summoned a toad from Mount Myōboku and, using Fire Release: Toad Oil Bullet in conjunction, burned down a supply depot within the Iwagakure outpost.

That place stored a considerable amount of Iwagakure's military supplies, and burning it down caused them immense pain.

When they wanted to pursue, Minato Namikaze and Jiraiya simply used the Flying Thunder God Technique and left.

The Iwagakure Ninja in the Land of Grass couldn't endure this humiliation, but they had no solution for Minato Namikaze and Jiraiya's problem, so they reported the matter to Ōnoki, hoping Ōnoki could send powerful Ninja capable of dealing with Minato Namikaze and Jiraiya.

After Ōnoki received this news, he felt that the situation with Minato Namikaze and Jiraiya had to be resolved.

If Minato Namikaze and Jiraiya were allowed to continue their rampant harassment, the morale of the Iwagakure Ninja in the Land of Grass would sharply decline.

Now, Hidden Cloud Village's Ninja secretly entering the Land of Earth to ambush their Iwagakure had become normalized.

In Ōnoki's view, the focus of Iwagakure's war might not be on Konoha next, but on Hidden Cloud Village.

Therefore, it was essential to stabilize the Konoha Ninja within the Land of Grass so they could properly deal with Hidden Cloud Village.

Ōnoki pondered for a moment before calling two people.

One was a man with a large beard, wearing purple clothes and chest armor.

The other was a man wearing a straw hat and armor.

These two were both Iwagakure's Jinchuriki: Roshi, the Four-Tails Jinchuriki, and Han, the Five-Tails Jinchuriki.

Ōnoki felt that sending other Ninja would be useless and unable to deal with Minato Namikaze and Jiraiya; only by dispatching Jinchuriki could they handle these two, and also deter the Konoha Ninja in the Land of Grass.

Ōnoki said sternly, "Roshi, Han, you two take a few Ninja and go to the Land of Grass to deal with the Konoha Ninja, Minato Namikaze and Jiraiya, who have been constantly harassing our Iwagakure positions!"

Roshi and Han accepted the mission, casually brought three Ninja for appearances, and then set off for the Land of Grass.

...

"Phew, when will this kind of life end~"

Having been delivering goods for almost half a year, Shindai felt like he was about to become a ruthless delivery machine.

Over the past few months, there were originally 11 people in the logistics unit, but 3 more had sacrificed themselves, leaving only 8. Due to the shortage of personnel, deliveries became more frequent, and even their captain, Takei Katsuhiko, personally delivered goods.

Several times after returning to the camp from deliveries, they had to immediately go on the next delivery without even resting.

Now, Shindai hadn't done what he wanted to do for a long time.

Obito, lying next to Shindai, looked at the sky and sighed, "This is war, there's no helping it."

Rin Nohara sat beside Obito and Shindai, looking down at a small flower on the ground in a daze, and said, "We are already very lucky; we only transport logistics supplies and are not directly involved in front-line combat. It's truly brutal there."

Shindai pouted, somewhat aggrieved, and said, "I want a vacation! I'm tired! Kakashi, can you talk to Captain Takei? You guys keep working, I'll rest first."

Obito suddenly sat up and immediately refused, "No! We are a team, Shindai, how can you take a vacation alone?"

Shindai rolled his eyes and retorted, "I'm not a Konoha Ninja yet. Working for you like this, it seems I don't even get paid. Am I not working for free? And I've been more than generous, haven't I? I've worked with you for several months without pay. You can't morally blackmail me anymore!"

Obito countered, "What moral blackmail? You are a Konoha Ninja now! And you're our comrade!"

Shindai said in a strange tone, "Oh? I'm a Konoha Ninja? Then do I have a Konoha headband? Do I have compensation? I have nothing. Why am I working so hard? Am I working for you because you're an idiot? Or because Kakashi is a tsundere? Or because Rin is pretty?"

Veins bulged on Obito and Kakashi's foreheads simultaneously.

They had been together for so long, and Shindai's words were still as irritating as ever.

However, Rin Nohara didn't find Shindai irritating, after all, Shindai said she was pretty.

Moreover, ever since Shindai joined them, the atmosphere had gotten better and better. Originally, Obito and Kakashi always argued, and although they still bickered occasionally now, the frequency was not as high.

And the original Kakashi was cold, rational, sharp-tongued, humorless, and kept his feelings to himself.

But after Shindai arrived, Rin Nohara could clearly feel that Kakashi's closed heart had slowly begun to open.

Obito angrily took off his headband, then stuffed it into Shindai's hand, then rummaged through his pocket, took out his small wallet, and also stuffed it into Shindai's hand.

Shindai looked at the headband and small wallet in his hand, then looked at Obito blankly: "What are you doing?"

Obito ignored Shindai and looked at Kakashi and Rin Nohara: "Kakashi, Rin, take out your money too."

Kakashi and Rin Nohara had already understood Obito's meaning, took out their wallets, and handed them to Obito.

After Obito took Kakashi and Rin Nohara's wallets, he stuffed them into Shindai's hand again: "Now you have a headband and money, is that enough?"

Shindai looked at Obito in disbelief: "No... are you sick?"

Shindai stuffed the three wallets into his pocket, then stuffed the headband back to Obito, and said righteously, "I just feel that the mission intensity is too high, I'm mentally and physically exhausted, and I just want to rest for a few days. I'm not quitting this team; I'll rejoin once I've rested enough. And what kind of person do you take me for?! Can money bribe me? You underestimate me too much!"

Obito, Kakashi, and Rin Nohara looked at Shindai's bulging pants pocket with deadpan eyes. What did it mean to stuff the wallets into his own pocket?
