A shiver or multiple emotions played on her nervous system as they kept looking at each other for a few seconds. Some people around her were grasping in surprise, some were smirking with 'I knew this would happen all along' type of face and some were showing fake happy smiles on their faces. As if they were genuinely overjoyed by the news.
"Alexis is lucky to have someone like Stefan woo her for the second time."
"No, that's the other way around! Alexis is no more a nobody you know. She is a celebrity herself in her field."
None of them felt like a compliment but Alexis was way past focusing on those comments. She suddenly got up from her chair as she saw Arthur slowly walking towards the exit of the hall after breaking eye-contact with her.
"Hey, why are you leaving? Don't be like that, let's talk about it sometime later, okay? We should enjoy the dinner first," Stefan caught her by the wrist.
