After feeding the young man named Tatum that sun-herb or whatever it was, it didn't take long for him to start showing signs of life again. His breathing became a bit more stable, and eventually, he regained consciousness.
He was still in a dire condition— pale, shaking, and clearly at death's door— but at least his heart was still beating.
"Urgh...!"
He let out a low, pained groan.
Every tiny movement he made seemed to spark a new wave of agony through his battered body. He tried to shift his weight, but the sword wounds were far too deep for him to do much more than lay there and hurt.
Currently, we were all gathered outside the ruins of the destroyed village. I had decided to move the group into the dense forest right beside it to take refuge. I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but the dark, monster-filled forest is a much better place to rest than their own village right now.
'They can't even lie down on the burnt ground with the dry blood all around there.'
