Chapter 103 - The Spatial Anchor

The workshop's ambient hum deepened as Seth leaned back in the reinforced command seat, the metallic blindfold feeding him a torrent of layered data streams. Schematics overlaid his perception in crisp, ghostly blue lines. Energy waveforms pulsed like living veins. Probabilistic failure models scrolled at the edge of his awareness, each one a silent warning of the razor's edge he walked.

To turn the core into a demiplane… His scarred fingers rose unconsciously, rubbing the stubble along his chin. I'll need to force the spatial knot to unravel outward. Controlled not to collapse or rupture but a directed bloom.

He exhaled slowly, letting the plan crystallize amid the flood of calculations.

"Prior to continuing," he said aloud, voice calm and measured, "Aid? Is the Void crystal in place?"

"Yes, Sire," Aid responded without hesitation, its synthesized tone carrying that subtle warmth Seth had grown accustomed to. "The specimen you provided earlier has been aligned and prepared for integration. Containment seals are nominal. Resonance harmonics are green."

"Good." Seth's reply was stoic, almost curt, but a spark of satisfaction kindled behind the blindfold.

Found it laying around on Agatha's floor, he thought, the corner of his mouth twitching. She doesn't need it right now. Too bad for her, I tend to use it anyway.

A wide, predatory grin split his face for a brief moment, the expression feral and unapologetic. The chaos marks tracing his neck pulsed once in response to his rising excitement.

"Aid," he commanded, leaning forward, "unto the next."

The Dimensional Drill

Overhead machinery awakened with a deep mechanical groan. A heavy articulated arm descended from the ceiling, its segmented length gleaming with reinforced orichalcum plating and etched micro-runes. At its tip rotated a specialized drill bit black as the void between stars, faceted with the captured Void crystal. The crystal itself absorb in light, its surface a shifting absence that made the surrounding air seem to warp and bend.

Seth flexed his left hand, the joints cracking audibly as he worked tension from his fingers with his thumb. "Bring in the Aetherite!"

Six spectral drones responded instantly, their polished crystalline frames humming in perfect synchrony. They maneuvered a colossal condensed Aetherite crystal into the workshop, easily ten times their combined size. The crystal glowed with inner celestial fire, veins of liquid starlight threading through its translucent bulk. Its presence filled the chamber with a clean, electric ozone scent that cut through the heavier smells of heated metal and latent magic.

Who would have thought I would find that from an auction heist, Seth mused, the memory flashing across his mind's eye in vivid detail. How lucky.

The drones positioned the massive Aetherite with exquisite care, locking it into auxiliary support clamps that fed supplemental stabilizing energy into the primary assembly. Seth's blindfold translated every movement into precise spatial vectors. He could "see" the faint gravitational micro-tides the crystal exerted, the way its aura interacted with the spatial core's swirling midnight energies.

"Engage Dimensional Drill," he ordered.

The articulated arm surged forward. The Void-crystal-tipped bit spun up to impossible speeds, its rotation accompanied by a rising, otherworldly whine that vibrated through Seth's bones. It made contact with the outer membrane of the stabilized spatial core.

For a heartbeat, nothing happened.

Then the bit pierced.

Violet lightning erupted outward in controlled arcs, grounded harmlessly by the gyroscope's aetheric rods. The spatial knot at the core's center resisted for only a moment before yielding. A pinpoint hole appeared, then widened as the drill bored deeper with relentless, surgical precision. Seth monitored the data flood: stress fractures forming and being immediately compensated by the mechanical housing, planar energy bleed at 0.7% and dropping, internal knot unraveling at a steady 3.4% per second.

"Steady," he murmured. "Maintain 0.8 micrometer tolerance."

The drill retracted smoothly once the central channel was established, leaving a perfect cylindrical bore glowing with residual void-light. The spatial core now throbbed like a wounded star, its inner galaxies swirling faster around the new puncture.

Pressure Injection

Seth didn't waste a second. "Initiate Pressure Injection sequence."

Heavy reinforced tubes snaked down from ceiling ports, their surfaces shimmering with layered containment runes. Each tube terminated in a diamond-hard injector nozzle that locked into the freshly drilled channel with a series of heavy mechanical clunks. Pumps deep within the workshop floor began to cycle, building pressure.

Raw astral Aether pressurized to levels that would shatter conventional materials, flooded into the core. The substance was pure potential given form: a luminous, semi-gaseous plasma that shimmered between silver, gold, and impossible hues that hurt to perceive even through the blindfold's filtered overlays.

The effect was immediate and dramatic.

The spatial core ballooned. Its outer boundaries strained against the gyroscope's rings as internal space unfolded violently outward. The midnight blue orb doubled in apparent size within seconds, then tripled. Swirling internal energies churned like a nascent universe being born. Seth's hands flew across the control interface, making micro-adjustments to pressure valves and grounding intensity.

"Compensate for planar shear," he snapped. "Increase aetheric rod output by twelve percent."

The system followed command. Excess energy bled off in spectacular but contained displays cascades of violet lightning dancing along the gyroscope's outer rings before dissipating into the reinforced floor. The air grew thick, charged, tasting of ozone and distant starfields.

Seth's breathing remained controlled, but his pulse thrummed with the raw power on display. This was no longer a mere artifact. It was becoming territory.

The Spatial Loom;

As the core continued its forced expansion, Seth triggered the next phase. "Deploy the Spatial Loom."

From recessed alcoves in the workshop walls, additional mechanical arms unfolded like the limbs of some vast, patient spider. These arms were tipped with hyper-fine manipulators capable of working at molecular scales. Spools of pure platinum threading, infused with conductive runes and treated for planar stability, unwound with whisper-soft precision.

The arms dove into the expanding void through the central channel, weaving the platinum filaments into an intricate, three-dimensional lattice. The Structural Grid took shape rapidly: a glowing wireframe matrix that dictated the physical boundaries, load-bearing vectors, and topological rules of the emerging demiplane.

Seth initiated the projection sequence. He ran a precisely calibrated electrical current through the core via secondary contact nodes. Blue-white arcs of controlled lightning danced across the platinum threads, projecting the full Matrix outward.

In his mind's eye, through the blindfold, the Matrix bloomed into stunning clarity, a digital wireframe blueprint suspended within the pocket dimension. Every line, every vertex, every intersection represented lines of code for the new space. Gravity constants. Atmospheric parameters. Spatial curvature. Temporal stability anchors. All of it written directly into the fabric of the unfolding reality.

This space will continue to increase with provided normal gravity and breathable air, Seth thought, satisfaction deepening. He had encoded those parameters personally, triple-checking every variable.

The sublimated astral aether gas, still flooding in through the pressure tubes reacted beautifully. It sought out the projected Matrix lines like water filling the channels of a vast sponge. Where the luminous gas touched the platinum grid, it clung, solidified, and inflated. The wireframe expanded with it, the internal space expanding outward at an accelerating but controlled rate.

The workshop's reinforced walls creaked faintly under the strain of containing such forces, but the external anchoring systems held. Seth watched the readouts with hawk-like focus: internal volume increasing exponentially, structural integrity holding at 97.4% and climbing as the matrix reinforced itself.

External Grid Activation;

"Activate the external Grid," Seth commanded, his voice dropping to a lower, more intense register.

Rune arrays etched across the outer surface of the massive metal containment housing flared to brilliant life. Geometric patterns of glowing silver and deep crimson rotated in perfect counterpoint to the internal gyroscope rings. The Grid functioned as both magnetic containment field and reality anchor. It clamped down on the expanding space with immense yet delicate force, perfectly aligning the infinite, shifting spatial pocket to the fixed, physical reality of the workshop's foundation.

The two matrices, internal platinum wireframe and external runic shell locked together. A deep, resonant thrum passed through the entire sixth floor, vibrating up through the reinforced pillars and into the fifth floor buffer zone above.

Seth allowed himself another small, fierce smile. "With a project of this magnitude, any single operational oversight carries catastrophic risk to the entire initiative."

The words hung in the charged air like a solemn oath.

Expansion!

The final activation command left his lips.

Power surged. The pressure injection tubes opened to full flow. The Spatial Loom arms accelerated their weaving, laying down denser and denser layers of the platinum matrix. Astral aether roared into the core in a luminous torrent. The external Grid blazed, its runes spinning faster and faster until they became glowing rings of liquid light.

Inside the gyroscope, the spatial core was no longer a fist-sized orb. It had become a roiling sphere of midnight and silver nearly two meters across, still growing. Its surface rippled with the birth of new physics. Galaxies of potential spun within, coalescing around the rigid Matrix lines. Gravity stabilized. Breathable atmosphere began to form in micro-layers, detectable as faint pressure shifts in the sensor data.

Seth rose from the command seat, the hovering drone drifting closer to provide additional fine manipulation support if needed. He approached the containment assembly, scarred hands outstretched, feeling the immense power radiating through the blindfold's neural link. Heat. Pressure. The unmistakable presence of a new reality taking form.

The expansion continued relentlessly. The demiplane pushed against its carefully engineered boundaries, testing them, strengthening them. Platinum threads sang with harmonic energy. Aether gas crystallized into stable spatial tissue along the matrix. The external Grid held firm, turning chaotic potential into ordered, claimable territory.

Seth's mind raced ahead even as he monitored every variable. This was only the foundation. Once fully stabilized, the demiplane could be shaped, tuned for experiments that would dwarf anything he had attempted before. New forges. Contained planar laboratories. Perhaps even living ecosystems or training grounds unbound by the dungeon's current limitations.

The workshop lights flickered once as another surge of power was drawn from the dungeon's mana conduits. Far above, on the fifth floor, Agatha would likely feel the tremor and wonder. Seth's grin returned, sharper this time.

Let her wonder.

The spatial core, now a true nascent demiplane continued its majestic, violent, perfectly controlled expansion. The air hummed with possibility. The metallic blindfold fed Seth visions of galaxies being born an

d bound, of infinite space folded into finite mastery.
