"How's my dear daughter-in-law doing?" Mrs. Silvestri asked with a smile that stretched the corners of her lips to her cheeks, exposing her pearly white teeth.
Delfina instantly stiffened when she heard that familiar voice. She peeked out to find Mrs. Silvestri standing there with her custom-made handbag, expensive-looking fabric, and accessories added to her outfit.
"What? Are you going to let me into the house?" She asked.
Reluctantly, Marianna stepped aside and let the woman come in.
"Nathan, Gabriele…" She called the boys. "I didn't know you two would be here."
The two little boys glanced at each other first, as if contemplating whether they should speak to her. Then they continued playing with the toys, completely ignoring her.
They may be kids but they hadn't forgotten what had happened the last time.
Mrs. Silvestri scowled at them.
"Nathan used to hug me whenever he saw me, but now, he doesn't even acknowledge my presence. It's like he's changed."
