The next day was a bright, sunny day. The sun stood on the horizon, casting a warm yet soft light in the sky.
The day seemed perfect, almost perfect, if Gabriele would wake up soon.
Delfina was at the hospital. The only people she met were Grace, Gabriele's nanny, Verena, and Agatha.
Samantha had already returned home the previous night but mentioned she would be coming back in the afternoon.
"You two need to go back home and rest," said Delfina. She was grateful for what they'd done. Without them, she would have still been at the hospital, eyebags living rent-free under her eyes, too exhausted to even comprehend a simple sentence.
But now, they're the ones with the eye bags and exhaustion written all over their faces even when they tried to act like they were not.
"You owe me, Delfina," Agatha said, closing the magazine in her hands. "You owe me a mansion that's just as big as the one we're living in."
