Their heads spun to the entrance of the house and found Mr. Silvestri standing there with the biggest bouquet of red roses they'd ever seen.
"Pardon me," he apologized as he stepped into the house. "I hate to interrupt but I need to speak to your mother," he added, facing Dominic. He quickly waved at Gabriele, then gave a smile to Delfina coupled with a curt nod before his gaze refocused on Dominic. "Where's she?"
As if on cue, Celeste stepped into the living room, her eyes meeting with Mr. Silvestri for a moment, then she glanced at the others before her gaze returned to him once again, as if making sure they were seeing the same person she was seeing as well.
"Do you two need some privacy?" Dominic asked, arms around Delfina's waist.
"Yes—"
"No, we don't," Celeste quickly interrupted. "Arturo was just leaving."
Dominic stared at his father, then at his mother.
From the looks of it, things weren't going well between them.
