Chapter 173 - No One Came

My hand slipped from the cold bridge railing. I couldn't stand anymore. I slumped onto the hard ground, letting my head hang low. The wind lashed at my face, making my skin sting, so I pressed my hands to my cheeks. My face had been dry when I left Elara's house, but now it was wet again.

I tried to wipe the tears away, but they just kept coming. It felt useless to even try. Snowflakes and teardrops fell together, making dark dots on the pavement. My shoulders began to shake. I bit my lip and tried to hold my breath, but I couldn't stop the crying.

If I had known it would hurt this much, I would have tried to like her less. If I hadn't given her so much of my heart, maybe I wouldn't feel like I was dying right now.
