Chapter 219 - Lighthouse

After listening to the words of normal people, Elara no longer found Lyra's actions surprising. A part of her realized she had been wrong, but she had simply given Lyra time, assuming the problem would eventually solve itself.

It felt like listening to a recurring rumor. Everyone—her mother, Max, and even Christina—was saying the same thing. Some were even wishing for the specific outcome: for Elara to never find Lyra again.

To never have her again.

Feeling the last of her strength fade, Elara sat down beside her mother on the deck. She could see her own sharp features reflected in the glass, though her face looked hollow and worn.

Still, she felt fine.

"I know we don't talk much, considering our history," Alice said, pouring a drink directly into her mouth. "But if you don't find my words completely useless, I advise you to talk to someone who truly understands you. If you don't have anyone like that, there are doctors who can help. I'll happily introduce you to one."
