Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Jason

Author Note: Sorry for being Late.

Narrator POV:

Jason's cursed technique The Eternal Hunter.

It allows for Jason to assign people with a prey status that makes it difficult for them to control their cursed energy and decreases their output.

The prey status doesn't just weaken the enemy but allows for Jason to use 'Hunter's jump' to warp anywhere within a 10m radius of the prey.

The hunter's mark will stay on the prey until Jason chooses to withdraw it, or the prey himself dies.

Jason's maximum technique, Resurrection, allows him to continue the hunt for his prey no matter the damage accumulated.

The cursed tool Exsanguination blade, which could typically be countered by precise cursed energy control, was impossible due to Jason's hunter mark.

On top of all this Jason had a unique trait to his cursed energy, which made it untraceable and invisible to others.

Back to Present:

"Domain Expansion: Rubik's Space Dominion" I declared out loud. A barrier began to form over me and Jason. I watched the shocked faces of Daizen Kamo, Mei Mei, and Bunma as the barrier fully formed and captured me and Jason.

*Make sure none of the other curses in the surrounding break the barrier from the outside.*

*Why should I bother with that? The other students from the Kamo clan are already dealing with the grade 2 and 3 curses that were trying to interfere.* Tomogui responded.

While Tomogui and I were chatting, the rules of this domain were starting to reveal themselves.

DOMAIN RULES – RUBIX SPACE DOMINION

The battlefield is a two-dimensional projection of a Rubik's Cube.

2. No phyXXXsical contact betXXXween the domain usXXXer, and target is allXXXowed. [Removed Rule]

3. The target must navigate the floor to "solve" the cube by aligning all colors to solve the rubix cube correctly.

4. Each movement of the tiles counts as a move.

5. Every move that isn't the most optimal move towards solving the puzzle will enact a punishment.

6. Must make a move every 30 seconds, or a forced punishment will be put on you.

7. Punishment: loss of cursed energy equal to one–twentieth of current reserves.

8. Five consecutive incorrect moves result in immediate 25% of cursed energy being stolen.

9. Failure to act within the allotted time window is treated as an incorrect move.

10. The Domain remains active until the puzzle is solved or the target has 5 consecutive incorrect moves.

30 seconds to make a move:

'Jason won't die no matter how much I kill him. Still using that resurrection ability must take a lot of cursed energy. If he runs out of cursed energy he won't be able to resurrect himself and he will die permanently.'

'This domain expansion's sure-hit takes 5% cursed energy every mistaken move, and a move must be made within every 30 seconds or curse energy is still stolen.'

'Moreover, once 5 wrong moves are made in a row, the ultimate punishment of 25% cursed energy will be lost.'

'By removing the second rule which forbids fighting, I allow myself to gain an increased cursed energy output, which means that even with the weakness effect Jason applied on me, I am stronger than normally.'

Jason, who had been waiting patiently as if reading the rules of the domain, suddenly twitched. He appeared 1 meter behind me with the Exsanguinating blade raised.

Sadly for him, once I opened this domain this wasn't going to be a fight.

It was going to be a massacre.

I dodged his vertical swing and slammed my fist into his ribs. My fist drove straight through his ribs, and as he took a few steps back I charged at him again and kicked him right in his ankle.

10 seconds to make a move:

I watched as my kick went straight through his ankle, and the lower half of his right leg flew off.

Jason missing his right leg stumbled to the ground, but before he could even attempt to throw a counter strike was stomped into the ground. I stomped his head in until it was just meat paste.

'Even with that he will resurrect, unfortunately for him the first punishment is going to activate.'

I watched as the timer to make a move reached zero while Jason was still healing from my onslaught.

However, once the timer reached zero … nothing happened to Jason. His cursed energy wasn't stolen.

Narrator:

Jason Voorhees as a cursed spirit with the unique cursed energy trait 'invisibility' was not perceivable through cursed energy.

Making him invisible to domain sure-hits, similar to that of a heavenly restriction.

[Author note: Unlike Maki and Toji who have no energy and thus cannot be trapped by a barrier. Jason still has cursed energy, it's just impossible to perceive, thus he can be trapped by a barrier but can't be targeted by the sure-hit effect within a barrier.]

__

'The sure-hit doesn't work? Then do I just keep killing him until he runs out of cursed energy. His cursed technique isn't too dangerous. I just have to avoid the Exsanguinating blade and I'll be fine.'

Realizing that relying on the domain's sure-hit would be useless. I decide to ramp up the voltage and pummel him to the ground until he is out of cursed energy.

Jason having fully healed raised his weapon above his head again. The same way he did before, I dodged the attack before it even came, when I realized it was just a feint.

Jason's other hand was clenched and swung down on me. I jumped over Jason and landed a kick clean on his neck. Watching his head spin 180 degrees I followed up with a barrage of attacks on his torso, each shattering bones.

After sending him flying, I continued my onslaught by throwing a few rocks and activating forced rotation, to make those rocks drill straight through him.

It was very clear, after my domain expansion each of my attacks were lethal enough to kill him, if he didn't have a resurrection ability any of those attacks would have meant death.

'Is this how Kuroda felt when he got rid of the second rule?'

'This overwhelming increase in output, no wonder I was being toyed with in his domain in our fight. Honestly being on the other end of this domain is very entertaining. I'm like a God.'

'Still at this rate the fight is going to take too long. I'm sure I can kill him but Mei Mei will probably bleed out before I am done.'

'Should I just not care about her, now that I think about it, if she dies I won't have to give her a grade 1 tool.' I joked mentally, even if I don't really care for her letting her die for no reason seemed a little extreme

'Which leads me back to my initial problem his resurrection is to broken—'

Suddenly I noticed something, Jason's torso was healing much slower than the wound to his head.

'Could it be that he is starting to run low on cursed energy? No his resurrection is still happening, but why would one of his wounds heal so much slower then the other'

*Hey Futago, after looking through your memories and thinking about the fight I think I noticed something* Suddenly Tomogui's voice sounded in my head. Did he notice something about this fight I didn't.

*Jason's resurrection seems to be based on the 'strength' of the attack. From what I am noticing it takes a lot more effort and cursed energy to heal from attacks that are 'stronger'. The damage he took doesn't matter as much as the cursed energy/'strength' behind the attack*

'Knowing that, what should I do? Just pour my maximum output into each of my punches? That would still take too long, even if I bother to enhance my physique to the maximum with the Flowing Red Scale.'

'... What am I thinking? I'm not a punch kick merchant anymore.'

'Using Flowing Red Scale to enhance my physical capabilities is a good idea, but if I want to make an ultimate attack it should be with Forced Rotation.'

'With my maximum output, combined with the output buff granted with this domain expansion I wonder what forced rotation could achieve'

Not thinking any longer I grabbed a rock from the floor and used cursed energy to reinforce the rock, and simultaneously activated forced rotation. Instead of trying to control the amount of cursed energy I poured into the technique, I put everything I had. My Maximum Output, directed towards forced rotation.

The rock in my hand began to spin.

At first it was stable.

Then the rotation increased.

And kept increasing.

Cracks began to form along the surface of the rock despite the reinforcement.

'Even reinforced… it's reaching its limit.'

I didn't stop.

More cursed energy poured into it.

The rotation sped up further.

The air around the rock began to shift.

Subtle at first.

Then noticeable.

The surrounding air started to distort.

A faint heat began to build.

'So the excess energy is being transformed to a new type of energy.'

Frictional interactions between the air, and the rotating object began to cause a new reaction from forced rotation.

I increased the output more, to reach even higher.

The temperature rose rapidly.

The nearby plants on the tiles began to dry out.

Their moisture evaporated almost instantly.

The air itself felt thick, and warm.

Jason rushed in.

Faster than before.

More aggressive.

I didn't move.

I kept increasing the rotation.

The sound sharpened into a high-pitched whine.

The heat intensified further.

'This is my maximum spin.' [SBR reference]

Jason appeared in front of me, blade already descending.

I stepped forward.

And threw the rock.

The air around it warped as it moved.

It struck Jason in the torso.

For a moment there was resistance.

Then it broke through.

The impact alone tore through his body.

But the rotation didn't stop.

The heat that had been built up began to spread through Jason's body.

Jason's flesh began to burn.

Not just at the surface but deeper where a normal human's internal organs would be, the heat was burning.

His body tried to regenerate.

But the thermal energy continued to spread.

Burning through newly formed tissue as it appeared.

His regeneration was trying to keep up.

Failing miserably but still trying.

'This is kinda brutal to watch, if I did this to a normal sorcerer it would just be torture'

The rock passed completely through him.

Leaving behind a body that was both torn apart and charred.

Jason's regeneration activated again.

I didn't move.

There was no need to.

Jason Voorhees was dead. From his corpse a golden core with a mask shape on it revealed itself.

'Well I wonder what type of cursed tool we could make from the Holy Ichor of Jason'

'Would we get his resurrection ability, or his ability to place weakness effects on people, I'm getting giddy just thinking about it.'

'All Tomogui and I have to do is kill special grade curses and we could accumulate an entire armory of special grade tools'

As I had these thoughts of our immense potential. The barrier of this domain expansion began to fade away. I watched as the others began to look over.

I also felt myself regain my control over my cursed energy. It wasn't sluggish anymore, and my output was back to normal

'If the current me fought Kuroda, it wouldn't be easy. But I can with confidence say I would win.'

Author Note:

I'm going to be making an actual schedule for releases since releasing everyday is probably going to be impossible. Starting next week I will post on Mon/Wed/Frid at 3:00PM EST.
