Chapter 213 - Chapter 212: Groudon: Giovanni, How Can I Fly?

Damian's castle.

"Just as I expected from you, Father. You actually succeeded in finding Kyurem," Damian said.

Damian sat on the sofa with his arm around Concordia. A Rotom Phone floated in the air in front of them.

Giovanni appeared on the screen. They were in the middle of a video call.

"Damian, do not let the situation become chaotic. That Kyurem is extremely formidable," Giovanni warned his son.

It was true. Before Giovanni decided to find Kyurem, he had shared the information with Damian.

However, Damian told him it wouldn't be a problem.

"Don't worry, Father. Everything is fine," Damian said with a light chuckle.

He had already told Reshiram to conceal its aura. Dark Mewtwo also helped cover it. Right now, it was impossible for Kyurem to locate Reshiram.

Since it couldn't find Reshiram, Kyurem would have to chase N's Zekrom instead.

"Damian, is it true that Kyurem can absorb Zekrom and Reshiram?" Giovanni asked.

It sounded unbelievable. Giovanni had thought about it many times. That was the only explanation for what Kyurem said.

"That is correct. If the DNA Splicers are present, Kyurem can fuse with Zekrom and Reshiram. They were originally a single being," Damian nodded.

In the games, Kyurem needs the DNA Splicers to fuse with Zekrom or Reshiram.

However, in this real world, Damian wasn't certain whether the DNA Splicers were absolutely mandatory.

After all, in the animated series, Necrozma fused with Lunala or Solgaleo without needing an item.

According to the games, Necrozma would need the N-Solarizer or N-Lunarizer to fuse with Solgaleo or Lunala. Colress usually provides those items.

"I see," Giovanni said thoughtfully. "Are you interested in Kyurem?"

"Of course, Father. I've always been interested in mighty dragons," Damian grinned.

Giovanni smiled and said nothing. He didn't feel like commenting on Damian's "love of dragons."

"Fine. Just be cautious. Also… never mind," Giovanni said.

Giovanni glanced at Concordia. Damian was holding her in his arms. Giovanni wanted to say something, but in the end he only shook his head.

He thought Damian should learn some restraint. Damian was with far too many women now.

But if Giovanni said it, Damian would probably ignore it anyway. There was nothing he could do. Damian only cared about his career—and women.

"Since you enjoy your lifestyle so much, hurry up and give me a grandchild. Silver and I would both be thrilled to see that," Giovanni said with a smile.

He was in high spirits. Under Damian's leadership, Team Rocket was becoming more successful every day.

Giovanni didn't have to worry about a thing. He just spent time with League members while Damian handled everything for Team Rocket flawlessly.

So, Giovanni wanted to hold a grandchild soon.

Silver had been shocked when he learned Damian was part of Team Rocket. However, he didn't quit. Instead, he trained even harder.

The boy wanted to defeat his older brother one day. He wanted to lead Damian back onto a better path.

It was obvious that Silver cared a lot about Damian. Silver would probably be happy to be an uncle, too.

"I understand," Damian said, blinking.

"Good. Remember to take plenty of health supplements," Giovanni added.

"Get lost, old man. My body is in excellent condition," Damian shot back.

"You brat," Giovanni said.

When the call ended, Giovanni didn't know whether to laugh or cry. That brat really was something else.

"I'll participate in the Elite Four challenge at the end of the year. First, I'll take the position of Kanto Champion," Giovanni said.

He sat at his desk and polished his Poké Ball, thinking about his future plans.

Lately, he was often bored. He traveled to different regions when invited. His only real business was the challenge at the end of the year—he had applied months ago.

Originally, he planned to become the Head of the Elite Four. Lance was very powerful.

Giovanni wasn't sure he could beat Lance. He intended to hide his full strength and stop at the Head position.

But now, he had caught Groudon. Giovanni decided to change his strategy.

"When Charles Goodshow retires, I can apply to become the Chairman of the Kanto League," Giovanni said.

The corners of his lips curled upward as he turned Groudon's Poké Ball in his hand. With Groudon, many things would become easy.

If he became the Chairman, and Team Rocket established itself in every region, they would control the world!

"Giovanni! When will we beat up our 'dear son,' that fat-headed fish—Kyogre?" a voice demanded.

"I had another nightmare. It was terrible! It filled my stomach with water!" the voice continued.

"Giovanni, do you think I can learn how to fly? If I could fly, it would be easier to defeat that fat-headed fish," Groudon asked.

"..." Giovanni fell silent.

He heard Groudon's telepathic messages. The Pokémon had been complaining ever since it woke up, and Giovanni felt a headache coming on.

Ever since they returned from the Giant Chasm, Groudon had become obsessed with flying.

Giovanni couldn't understand it. Not being able to fly seemed perfectly fine to him.

He was the leader of the earth, and Groudon was the Overlord of the land. They were a perfect match.

They didn't need to fly. They just needed to defeat those who could.

"Giovanni, why are you silent?" Groudon asked, confused.

"I was thinking," Giovanni replied. "There's a power-up method in Paldea called Terastallization. It can change a Pokémon's type. If you became a Flying Tera Type, maybe you could float."

Giovanni pretended to think and gave Groudon an answer.

"Is that really possible?" Groudon's eyes brightened inside the Poké Ball.

"I'm not certain, but we can try," Giovanni said. He truly didn't know if it would work.

"Giovanni!!" Groudon said, deeply moved.

"Giovanni, you are my best partner. Don't worry. After you die, I will scatter your ashes where I soak in lava. I will stay with you forever!" Groudon promised.

The idea of flying was strange. That promise was even stranger. Giovanni couldn't hide his reaction.

"That is really not necessary," Giovanni said.

His face remained blank. He couldn't tell whether Groudon wanted to stay with him—or just bathe in his ashes.

The night grew darker.

"Two hours and thirty-seven minutes," Caitlin muttered.

She sat by the wall and checked the time the moment the noise from the next room finally stopped.

It was twenty minutes longer than yesterday. She thought those two women were far too demanding.

She felt sorry for Damian. They were wearing him out every day.

"I'll wake up early tomorrow. I'll have the servants prepare nutritious food," Caitlin thought.

She set an alarm on her phone.

Damian was young and healthy, but she wanted to prevent problems. He shouldn't ruin his health because of those women.

Caitlin was very considerate of Damian.

In the next room.

"This is truly decadent," Damian said.

He lay on the bed and sighed. Ever since moving into the castle, he felt like he'd become completely indulgent.

He had fun every night. He couldn't stop. Anthea and Concordia were wonderful—and they were willing to be together.

He felt like he couldn't keep living like this.

"Mr. Damian?" Anthea asked.

Anthea leaned on Damian's arm, looking confused as he started to sit up.

"You two go to sleep first. I have some business to handle," Damian said.

"Shall I go with you?" Concordia asked softly, tucking her blonde hair behind her ear.

"No need. You two rest," Damian said.

Damian put on his pajamas, went to the living room, and opened a Poké Ball.

"Mmm~ Damian, what is wrong?" Jirachi asked, rubbing its sleepy eyes as it yawned.

"Did you sleep poorly again?" Damian asked.

He pulled Jirachi closer and pinched its face.

"It's your fault, Damian. When you exercise, those two girls make loud noises. It's really noisy," Jirachi pouted.

Jirachi was inside the Poké Ball, but its ears were sharp. It heard Anthea and Concordia and couldn't sleep well.

"..." Damian felt embarrassed.

"Jirachi, do you know about Victini?" Damian asked, changing the subject.

"Victini?" Jirachi echoed, its voice clear and cute as it tilted its head.

"I remember now. Damian, you mean that fire mouse," Jirachi said.

"You actually know it?" Damian asked, surprised. He had only asked casually. Jirachi usually slept for a long time.

"I know! Honestly, Damian, don't doubt me. I know about many Pokémon," Jirachi declared.

It put its hands on its hips, looking proud.

"Jirachi is the best. I admire you now. Can you find Victini's location?" Damian asked.

"Hehe~ No problem! Watch me," Jirachi said.

Jirachi floated up and closed its eyes. The tags on its head glowed, and the Eye of Truth on its stomach slowly opened.

Complex wishes required a lot of energy, but finding Victini's location was easy for Jirachi.

It would only need one extra hour of sleep afterward.

The Eye of Truth closed again. Jirachi projected a map of light.

"Damian, Damian, it's right here," Jirachi said, pointing a short finger at a spot on the map.

"Great. Jirachi, you're amazing," Damian said.

He memorized the location.

"Hmph~ Of course I am!" Jirachi said, grinning.

It was happy to help Damian. Usually, it was just a lucky mascot.

It enjoyed being a mascot, but it also wanted to be useful.

At that same moment, outside the prison in Vertress City, two guards collapsed unconscious as a dark figure appeared.

It was Zoroark. A young man with green hair walked forward slowly.

"I am sorry for hurting you," N said.

N apologized to the guards. He had no choice.

N stepped inside. He knew his goal. He quickly found Ghetsis in a special cell.

Guards tried to stop him, but N was a Champion-level trainer. They were powerless.

The warden contacted the League. Help would take time to arrive, and N had enough time.

"N!" Ghetsis shouted.

He was overjoyed to see him.

"Father, let us go," N said.

Zoroark destroyed the cell door, and Ghetsis was free.

N led Ghetsis out of the prison. Zekrom descended from the sky to take them away.

But then, a sound tore through the night.

"Roar—!"

A violent dragon roar echoed across the sky.

Zekrom snapped its head up immediately. Its eyes were filled with shock and doubt. It recognized that cry.

"N! We must escape now! Kyurem is here!" Zekrom said.

For the first time, N heard pure fear in Zekrom's voice.
