Chapter 163 - Chapter 163 Seeing an acquaintance again

Everyone shouted and then looked towards the main entrance on the ground floor of the building.

Several more gunshots rang out from there.

It was fortunate that there were so few Walkers in Atlanta, otherwise these few shots would have attracted thousands of Walkers to surround the building.

However, listening to the gunshots, Shawn became even more confused.

"Aren't they together?"

The fire truck was inexplicably driven away by someone, and after being driven into the building, a fight inexplicably broke out.

All of this seemed to indicate that Shawn and his companions had been drawn into an internal conflict within a team, or even a struggle between two survivor teams.

One group was the Hospital; this could basically be confirmed.

But who would the other team be?

And why were they fighting?

Shawn did not yet know any of this.

After a few more gunshots, the main entrance on the ground floor of the building slowly opened, and the fire truck, with full throttle, drifted out.

The men in police uniforms behind him chased out and fired a few shots, but they were ineffective against the fire truck modified by Shawn, and they could only watch helplessly as the fire truck drove away.

"Go, follow the fire truck."

Shawn had not forgotten his purpose in returning to Atlanta; everything was primarily about recovering the fire truck.

The five of them slowly retreated, circled around, and chased in the direction the fire truck had left from another side.

Five o'clock in the afternoon.

After chasing for several hours, losing track of the fire truck, and then splitting up to scout around, Shawn finally confirmed that the group was in the 'Bank' in front of him.

Only, the fire truck had been hidden somewhere by them.

"How do we handle this? Do we just attack directly?"

Tallahassee was eager to try… He still hadn't seen the cream cakes promised by these people.

"No rush, we don't know how many of them there are, and they don't know how many of us there are."

"And they have guns, but they didn't immediately kill you, so there might be room for negotiation."

After speaking, Shawn looked at Merle.

"First, let's send them a welcome gift."

Meeting Shawn's gaze, Merle understood.

He took out the 'tubular explosive', lit it, and threw it at the 'Bank's' rolling shutter.

Bang--!

A dull sound rang out, and a cloud of black smoke rose.

The rolling shutter of the bank's door had a crater blown into it, concave inwards, and fine lines appeared on the glass, as if it would shatter at any second.

When the 'tubular explosive' detonated, several figures inside the bank could be easily seen shifting, hiding behind the counter.

Shawn's lips curved into a smile.

It seemed they had indeed received this gift.

After patiently waiting for a moment, a man's roar came from inside the bank.

"Get lost! Tell that woman we won't surrender! One day, we'll shoot your faces off while you're sleeping!"

Alright, so he had mistaken Shawn for someone from the Hospital.

Besides Dawn, the leader of the Hospital, Shawn couldn't think of who the 'woman' he referred to was.

"We are not from the Hospital, otherwise, the welcome gift just now, we would have shoved it directly up your asses!"

The man was silent for a while, and then continued.

"What do you want?!"

Hey, don't say it, this voice sounded more and more familiar to Shawn, but he just couldn't remember how.

It seemed he had heard it before, but it was a long time ago.

Shawn did not show his head, but moved to another position before speaking.

"Our vehicle was taken by you. You ask me what I want? I just want to get back what belongs to us!"

Shawn's aura was stronger than the man inside the bank.

Because if they couldn't reach an agreement, the next step would be for Shawn to sneak in and hold a butcher's knife to their throats.

After Shawn's words fell, there was about ten seconds of silence inside, and then the man's voice continued.

"Don't shoot, we can talk!"

"I'm coming out now!"

Hmm?

Hearing this, Shawn couldn't help but raise his eyebrows.

Are these people so honest?

They say they want to talk, and then just walk out openly?

Or is this actually their trap, and they've just thrown out the bait?

A rattling sound came from the bank's rolling door, and a figure walked out from inside with hands raised high.

Honestly, this scene really resembled a robber surrendering before the apocalypse.

Realizing that someone was truly walking out, Shawn leaned against the cover and slightly exposed his eyes to look. When he saw the man's face, Shawn paused for half a second, then involuntarily uttered the man's name.

"Aji."

Aji

"Don't shoot! We can still talk!"

Aji held his hands high, feeling like cold sweat was about to soak his vest.

He didn't know if what the other side threw just now was a grenade or something, but it directly blew a dent into the rolling shutter of the bank's entrance. If this happened a few more times, the bank's door would definitely not be able to hold.

But when Aji gritted his teeth and bravely looked forward, he saw an unexpected figure.

Shawn actually stood up boldly and walked towards him.

The closer they got, the clearer their memories became.

It seemed that back then, when Shawn blocked the door of 'Rhodes' House', they also stood face to face like this.

"You are… that soldier?!"

Aji suddenly remembered, the tall figure in combat uniform gradually merged with Shawn's figure.

Only now, Shawn always exuded an unconscious dominance and oppressive feeling, making people almost unable to breathe.

If one had to say, the current Shawn was more mature than the former Shawn, having undergone the baptism of blood and sweat.

The words Aji had said to Shawn back then, he couldn't bring himself to say now, even if he wanted to.

The two were clearly just standing in equal opposition, but Aji always felt that Shawn was several times taller than himself.

"Not working at the Nursing Home anymore, switched to stealing cars?"

Shawn waved to the people behind him, then came in front of Aji with a smile, looking at him.

According to the timeline, Shawn and Aji were among the earliest old friends to know each other.

In this current world, it was very rare to meet again after separating.

Many people had already died on their tumultuous journeys.

"Sorry, I didn't know it was you guys."

Shawn's words seemed to have stimulated him; he lowered his head, and his emotions looked a bit low.

Aji's people poked their heads out from the bank. Seeing that Shawn and Aji actually knew each other, they all jogged over.

"It's you!"

A bald man looked at Shawn and couldn't help but exclaim.

Shawn remembered him too; that shiny, round head left a deep impression on Shawn.

But looking at them, Shawn frowned.

Aji was only followed by 4 people, and their expressions were listless, looking not very well.

"What exactly happened?" Shawn looked back at Aji.

Aji poked his inner cheek with his tongue, looked elsewhere, and slowly began to explain.
