The sound was light and subtle, definitely not the noise of a clumsy Walker randomly hitting the door.
Moreover, several minutes passed, and the sound outside was still there; Shawn even heard a 'click-click' sound from the driver's side door lock.
Hearing such a sound, Shawn immediately understood.
Given the size of the fire truck, it couldn't be hidden.
It was fine when it was parked in the open area of the Prison, where high walls provided protection, and neither Walkers nor people could get in, so there was naturally no need to worry.
But out here, a large, modified, and very safe vehicle like this parked here would tempt any survivor who saw it.
How many groups of people had coveted Shawn's vehicle so far?
Three times or four times?
Even Shawn himself couldn't quite remember.
Ironically, it was coveted again tonight, and unlike previous forceful seizures, this time they came to steal it stealthily in the dead of night.
Thinking of this, Shawn stood up straight, not making a single sound throughout the process.
The stalker suit, combined with some skills from the Agility sequence, gave Shawn excellent mobility and killing ability in the night.
So when Shawn looked out from the back window, the person still hadn't noticed him at all.
Shawn was almost blended into the shadows, watching silently.
It was only when he saw that the thief was a woman that Shawn paused.
He opened the Blood Bar MOD, and a horizontal bar immediately highlighted in front of him.
[Vechita]
[Health: 115 / 117]
Vechita?
Shawn was a bit surprised looking at the woman who was picking the lock outside the door.
If this Vechita was the same Vechita he remembered, then Shawn had encountered the two sisters who had tricked Columbus out of his car.
The older sister, Vechita, and the younger sister, Little Stone.
The two sisters relied on each other, surviving in the apocalypse mostly through 'deception'.
In other words, they didn't actively kill Walkers; instead, they relied more on other survivors, thriving in their interactions with them.
Aside from their superb deceptive skills, their beautiful appearance was also one of their methods.
'They say pretty women are the best at deceiving people, and it's true,'
Shawn watched her until Vechita opened the driver's side door of the fire truck, flipped herself inside, and sat down.
She didn't even make much noise when closing the door, clearly, she had done this sort of thing many times and was quite skilled at it.
Shawn was hidden in the back row, watching her next moves with interest.
Vechita pulled out a large bunch of keys from her pocket, trying them one by one.
Just as Shawn was about to laugh at her foolishness, one of the keys actually managed to start the fire truck.
Thump thump thump thump--
The fire truck started, its dual headlights blazing, instantly waking up the keenly perceptive Daryl.
He flipped off the sofa, simultaneously kicking the soundly sleeping Merle awake, and got to the bedside just in time to see Vechita driving the fire truck away.
"Chase!"
Daryl licked his lips, his eyes burning with fury; he had finally gotten a good night's sleep, and now he had to deal with a car thief again!
"Wait, you wait."
Merle rubbed his eyes, propping himself up from the bed, and spoke with some uncertainty.
"If I'm not mistaken, Shawn seemed to be in the car, right?"
Huh?
Daryl froze, his foot, which was about to step forward, stopped dead.
It was then that Daryl belatedly realized.
That's right, Shawn was in the car.
Was Shawn driving?
That didn't seem right either, because no matter what, Shawn would surely inform them if he left in the middle of the night.
After thinking for a moment, Daryl gave the drowsy Merle another nudge.
"No matter what, we need to chase after them and see what's going on; perhaps Shawn needs our help."
"You can sleep during the day; let's get moving, old man."
Then Daryl woke up Columbus and Tallahassee in the opposite room.
The four of them discussed briefly, then took a key from the wall in the hotel lobby, started the small car parked on the side of the hotel, and chased in the direction the fire truck had left.
And at this moment.
Shawn was sitting in the back row of the fire truck; Vechita still hadn't discovered he was there, and she was excitedly enjoying the heavy feel of driving the fire truck.
From being a bit rusty at first, with the front shovel directly hitting Walkers and the wheels crushing their heads, she had now basically mastered how to drive the large vehicle and was becoming increasingly proficient.
Vechita weaved her way out of the town, driving for about half an hour before stopping at a large supermarket on the edge of a forest.
It was a membership-only supermarket, and the supplies inside seemed very abundant.
Under the light of the headlights, Shawn could clearly see that the snack supplies inside the supermarket had barely been touched.
At the entrance of the supermarket, Shawn saw some mouthwash and candy, but it wasn't hard to infer the remaining quantity of other types of supplies from these conspicuous items at the door.
Because if this place had truly been targeted by raiders or other survivor Camps, let alone mouthwash, even condoms would have been completely cleared out.
'It seems I've inadvertently been given a great gift,'
Shawn thought to himself.
It was his first time in 'South Carolina', and thanks to Vechita bringing him here, otherwise, he might not have found the location of this supermarket.
Other survivors and raiders were probably the same, otherwise, given the size of this supermarket, even if it required driving hundreds of kilometers, people would still come to take these supplies.
However, Shawn was curious: before the apocalypse, the foot traffic in such large supermarkets would have been considerable; how did Vechita and her sister manage to take this place with their combat power?
As Shawn pondered, Vechita opened the car door and walked up to meet her with a smile.
A little girl, barely half a person tall, quickly ran out of the supermarket, and the two sisters embraced.
Poor Vechita still didn't know that she had brought back the person she least should have brought back.
Or rather, this person's appearance would change the trajectory of her future.
"A war vehicle, how about it? With it, we won't have to worry about Walkers anymore."
"If you want, we can even load food into the back compartment and go on a trip."
Vechita said with a hint of pride, pointing to the fire truck behind her.
When Little Stone looked at the fire truck more closely again, it was clear that her eyes suddenly lit up.
Wrapped in full metal mesh, with a violent attack front shovel, plus the spikes protruding from the wheels and around the vehicle body for protection, this vehicle was simply the ideal ride in the apocalypse.
Looking at the two front seats of the fire truck, Little Stone could even imagine herself and her sister sitting in them.
Then, as if suddenly remembering something, Little Stone suddenly let go of Vechita and looked up at her.
"Was this car picked up from outside, or was it tricked from someone else?"
"Neither, I used a little trick."
Vechita rattled the bunch of keys in her bag, her expression serious because Little Stone's expression was equally serious.
