Chapter 197 - Chapter 197 I Want to Create a Massacre

A voice came from behind Sam, and Shawn saw Jessie walking from the doorway of her house.

The bruises on her face had faded a bit; perhaps she had applied something to them so as not to affect her teaching the children today.

When Jessie saw Shawn, Shawn saw surprise in her eyes, but no vigilance or wariness.

She even walked towards Shawn and greeted him proactively.

"I didn't see you when I woke up yesterday, and when I asked Diana, I found out you were temporarily staying in the back house."

After speaking, Jessie gave Shawn a smile, which left Shawn bewildered.

Yesterday, he had knocked them out and carried them away, yet today, upon meeting her, she wasn't angry; instead, her attitude was very friendly.

This seemed… not quite right, did it?

Feeling a bit strange, Shawn still nodded to her.

American Horror Story: Maid played by Jessie

While talking with Jessie, Shawn noticed that someone inside the house behind them was staring at him through the window.

Following the direction of the gaze, Shawn saw Pete.

The moment Shawn's gaze met his, Pete quickly averted his eyes and tried his best to pull down the curtain to hide his face.

Shawn didn't say much, just glanced at him, then bid farewell to Jessie and turned to leave.

Back at the villa, Daryl and the other two were having breakfast prepared by the Community; upon seeing Shawn return, Merle quickly waved to him.

"Where did you go so early in the morning? Come quickly, there's free breakfast here."

Shawn took a look; the table wasn't set with instant food but with pastries and small sausages that had been baked and served hot.

The Community had water, electricity, and many functional appliances, so they could make such fresh food.

Shawn picked up a cookie and put it in his mouth; a rich milky aroma spread, and being warm, it was indeed more delicious than instant food.

While eating, Shawn spoke to the three of them.

"Later, borrow shovels and picks from the Community; you'll come out with me for a trip."

"We'll follow your arrangement."

Although they didn't know what Shawn intended to do, none of them refused; they just silently sped up their chewing.

After breakfast, Daryl and the other two found Olivia and managed to persuade her to lend them a set of digging tools, and everyone met at the main gate.

Shawn greeted the guard, and the guard nodded back at Shawn.

Having entered and exited the Community three times in two days, several of the rotating guards had already formed an impression of Shawn.

Not to mention that Shawn had always appeared with Diana, so they didn't ask many questions.

Those troublemakers in the Community, led by Spencer, had also been unusually quiet these past two days, so no one could control Shawn even more.

After exiting the main gate, Shawn drove for about ten minutes and then parked by the roadside.

Opening the map, the areas he had already explored were now glowing with white light spots; based on Shawn's current mining experience, these should all be nitrate powder mines.

Shawn led them to an area above a mineral deposit.

"Remember the appearance of this mineral; we'll be digging these mines later."

"The three of you will be one group, and I'll be a separate group. If there's any situation, give a warning; I won't be too far away and will definitely hear you."

Then Shawn found another place where nitrate powder mines were densely distributed and had Daryl and the others dig there.

He, on the other hand, went to precisely collect minerals from another area.

Approximately 5 hours later, Daryl's group had finished digging 6 small mines.

Shawn, on his side, had dug up 30 small mines, storing nearly 21,000 portions of nitrate powder in his backpack.

Shawn swung his pickaxe, collecting the last of the nitrate powder into his system backpack, stood up, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and heard the system's prompt.

Experience +57

Level Up, Lv51 → Lv52 (31%)

Remaining Skill Points: 1

You can now add points

"Mining gives a fair amount of experience points too."

"However, it seems I can just come mining by myself from now on; their normal digging speed is too slow."

With the system's blessing, Shawn's digging speed was incredibly fast.

With just one heavy swing of his pickaxe, a block of earth would disappear, and he could even directly convert minerals into raw materials, which Daryl and the others couldn't compare to.

However, mining consumed and recovered a lot of stamina, and Shawn's water and food bars were constantly depleting quickly.

He ate and drank while digging, and the slots filled with nitrate powder were those vacated by supermarket food.

When he left, the deep pit of the nitrate powder mine was piled high with crumpled food packaging.

After loading the nitrate powder mined by Daryl and the other two, Shawn drove towards Alexandria.

"Brother, it's not that I'm complaining, but if you're going to make us do hard labor, you should at least tell us what these minerals are for, right?"

Merle rubbed his sore arms, unable to resist complaining.

But thankfully, once the pickup truck started, the cold wind constantly poured in through the windows, instantly making them feel a few degrees cooler.

Seeing this, Shawn still recounted the large Walker horde near the quarry not far from Alexandria.

After hearing this, the others were all somewhat surprised, and Daryl frowned, looking at Shawn's profile.

"What are you thinking now?"

"The Prison needs people; I'm going to take them away."

Shawn's face was as usual, but there was one more thing he hadn't said.

'I'm going to mix these nitrate powder and coal for an unprecedented, insane slaughter!'

That's right, Shawn had his eyes on the Walkers in that deep pit.

Others killed Walkers to survive, but Shawn was different; he gained benefits from killing Walkers.

In the past, although there were many Walkers, they were scattered everywhere and were always difficult to gather in one place.

And even if they did gather, Shawn didn't have the corresponding means to clear them all at that time.

But times were different now; Shawn had the Explosives Depot, allowing him to craft explosives with his bare hands.

And coincidentally, a group of Walkers was piled up in the deep pit, trapped and unable to move.

So Shawn thought, is there a possibility... could he... take the people from Alexandria away while also 'consuming' these Walkers?

"Crafting explosives can't be done in the Community; it has to be done in the jungle outside."

"However, I've done everything I can regarding Alexandria. If they're stubborn and unwilling to leave, there's nothing I can do."

"But these Walkers, I'm definitely going to 'consume' them!"

Light flickered in Shawn's eyes.

Walkers ate people; he 'ate' Walkers.

Shawn had figured it out and was tempted.

There would be plenty of opportunities to find labor and talent in the future, but the chance to clear a large number of Walkers at once was right before him and absolutely could not be missed.

If he could raise his system level, the benefits would be no less than recruiting people from Alexandria to join the Prison.

In fact, once the 'Intelligence Sequence' was unlocked, the improvements he brought by himself might even be far greater than the addition of Alexandria.

'It's decided!'

Shawn suddenly made up his mind.
