Chapter 53 - Chapter 6.5: Mind games

Kakashi's Soliloquy:

To be honest, I don't what life means anymore.

From the harsh childhood we all endured, to the now bright future ahead of us. It kinda seems like this was meant to be, but at the same time: 'you wonder, if it was worth it.' we suffered a great deal of mistreatment.

Til now, I still remember the dark night when my parent died right in front of me. I was six that time, the looming star flickering above the sky. It was my father's birthday, but it also turned in his last day on Isal. I regretted not being able to save them, this was the pain that allowed me to luck my 'star eyes.'

The star eyes and the pure eyes are special eyes that awakens when you lose a dear person in your life. Rial and I lost our parents when we were children, this also was the moment when we both awaken our special eyes.

I swore on their graves that I will one kill that man known as: Rushed.

"I want your opinion on this: Is it worth it to forgive someone you know will not change, or should do take that person's life?"

As for me, my mind has been already been set, no matter who or what comes in my way, I will seek vengeance!

Lastly, how is love formed?

The feelings I have been stocking aside, will go eventually go away. Because I have chased vengeance all my life. The feeling called love had eventually vanish from my heart. But, as of now, Flora has been standing out to me the most.

"I don't know, but it feels good!?

"Yeah."

Encounter with the village boys:

Rial's perspective:

10/6/998

It was a Sunday when I suddenly an invitation to hang out with the village guys. These were boys I was familiar with. Peter, Kelson, Miko and Hira.

I was stood against the wooden floor, the wind blew against my hair. Suddenly, I was pulled back to the day when my parent died.

"Even until now, I guess I am still stuck in that phase. I am not still able to move on from that harsh experience!"

The day my father died was a day like this. A beautiful sunny Sunday, not even the predators of the jungle wanted to hunt. But I guess, death that keep a break.

On that day, Rushed and my father went to the local guild. They got a side mission to kill some monster outside the village. As, they went I sensed a dangerous aura coming Rushed. And, that was the last time I ever saw my father.

Rushed later came and confirmed that an S rank monster suddenly appeared when they were hunting, and that monster ate him.

A year later, he came and killed my mother too, leaving me with deep scar I can not forget.

I am not god, but there things that are too great for one man to forgive. I will one kill him.

Until then, I must continue to experience this feelings.

 ~~~~~~~~
I got dressed and went outside where the boys were waiting behind the house the elders I even me and girls to live in.
"Wow! This house is huge." Miko Said.
"Thanks!" I replied.
Looking at the huge house behind him, Kelson said. "Do you live here all by yourself?"
"No, the elders grandchildren and I are living together due to them wanting to make gesture of apology."
"Ah! Now that explains it." Said Peter.
He stared again, this time meeting the eyes of Aria. He smiled faintly, but as I looked, Aria had already turned her attention to Sera.
Kelson smirked ready to tease him.
"So, you still are chicken, aren't you," he said.
"No. I am still waiting for the right time," Peter replied.
Am I missing something here. Or is something going rough here.
"Little brother, when are you going to grow into a man like me?" Hira spoke, his voice a little cocky.
"Guys, I think we should leave him alone, if he waits, I mean... Someone would have stolen her before he had a chance." Gently Miko said.
"Well, it is all up to the test of courage." Kelsom exclaimed.
During that whole interaction, I felt as if I was deliberately being left out.
So, he has started to use emotional distance to get me angry. By making me angry while hanging out with friend who doesn't know you. He wants to drive me insane by tricking me into thinking that I am outside in their eyes. Because, I am a human and they are all long time friends, it makes the situation seems like humans are just evil as the ancestors told them.
Nut, I also knew that if I try to make a connection with them, they will call me: needy. I just I have watch and learn about them.
"So, Rial where do you want go?" Peter suddenly asked.
"Oh... me, I guess the cafe down the great tree." I said reflexively.
"Alright!" Hira said.
 ~~~~~~~~

Mind games of destiny:

"So, Rial tell me. What are your favorite hobbies you like to do during your free time?" Per asked.

"Ah... I think what ever comes to mind. I don't really do much except fishing, hunting and camping." I said, but that was a lie.

"Your hobbies are those! Hmm... I think they are kind of lame." Hira exclaimed.

"But, didn't you come to the library to read the other day?" Peter asked again.

"I only read, when I feel bored so I don't really see it as a hobby to be honest."

"Oh, alright. I guess I have to limit your take out in the library then!" Smiling, Peter said.

"You do know that the library you work at isn't the only one that is in the village, right, I said.

"I guess, you have a point there."

"But anyway, when is the spirit village annual festival coming?" Tilting his head curiously Miko asked.

"An annual festival?" I asked, turning my attention to Miko.

"Yes. The annual festival is hosted every year. Its purpose is to honor lady Stella as our guardian."

"Is that so."

Looks like they don't know her true personality.

Looking at the watch in the cafe, Peter was frantically packing up. "Sorry guys! I have to get to the military base, they need me badly." He said and left at an insane speed.

But as he left, I caught a glimpse of a round ball hanging around his bag.

What the hell is that?

Aria's father:

11/6/998

It has been a day since they boys and I went out. But, still the exams haven't been finished yet. Typically, an exam lasts for about two weeks maximum, but this has continued on for two months.

Because, they left on 1/4/998 and it is 11/6/998.

"Should I go and visit them, or should I stay here where I do destroy the other person using the magic death ball?"

"Rial, I have important news to relay to you!" Aishia said.

"What is it?"

"It is about the school."

"What about them, are they okay?" I asked.

"They are but the situation is getting worse. 'The person holding onto the death magic ball has ordered them to stay... Or else he will kill the people he has uncover their real names."

Aishia looked irritated but not angry, I nodded slightly and shook it out of my mind. Aishia turned, unable to understand my calmness in the situation. On the side, Alma, Aria, Sera, Alphia and Eva were all staring at me confusingly.

"If her has really crossed that boundary, then he is going to meet the full force of the academy. Plus, I am sure not even Rushed will let his favourite weapon go just like that, he would certainly come to his rescue."

"Oh! Now I see why you ain't worried."

This information helps greatly, but I didn't give my position for nothing. For now, let's just hope that he can help in any way he can.

We stepped out to the dining hall where everyone was gathered. I briefly made eye contact with Aria, who looked stressed. I wanted to ask; why she was stressed but figured that wouldn't help the situation.

"Master Rial, do you have any plans today?" Sera asked.

"Yeah. The boys asked to hang out again today," I said.

"Well, that is too bad. I wanted to train with you again," she narrated.

"Sorry! I will see when I have time," I said.

"I wanted to ask: why are you joining their group. I mean, I do not have anything against them, but to me they seem kinda dangerous." Alphia replied.

"I am not, I just listen to them while they rumble about girls in the village," I spoke.

Aria looked uncomfortable as I said this though.

It wasn't long before the guys once again rang my door bell. Hearing them, I grabbed a jacket and went outside. Before I went outside I internally closed the windows, which caught everyone off guard.

"Hey, there is the main man!" Cheerfully Hira hugged me with a deep grip.

Peter once again turned his sight towards the window where Aria usually sits, but this time they were closed. A deep sigh overcame him and eventually he asked: "Why is the window closed! Don't you know that people are living with you!" With a rage in his eyes he screamed.

"Huh?" I asked apologetically.

In all honesty, I just wanted to test an experiment he tried to use on me. But today, I tried reversing the tables and it worked.

"There are girls living with you! Can't you see they will be over heated since the flesh air is closed," Peter's rage continued as his friends watched.

"Yo, it is no big deal!" Miko said.

"Huh! Get of me." He said to Miko.

"Ah, Peter there is a fine line between getting jealous and being over protected, but I myself don't know where you belong." Irritated, Kelson said to his face.

He stared at him from up to bottom and ignored his existence.

"Now I'ma need need you to go up there and release those windows." He said firmly.

I stared at him and said: "the girls themselves closed the windows since they didn't want to see any of you for some reason." I told them calmly.

"What?" He asked.

"You heard me, they are still in bed so they don't be disturbed," I narrated.

"Oh! Why didn't you start with that." Hira said.

From our backs, a man walked calmly besides us, it took me a second to notice his presence.

"Who are you?" I asked.

He stared at me and started laughing all of a sudden. "You must be the human I have been hearing so much about," he said paying all his attention to me. Which made Peter more and more jealous.

"I guess so then." I said.

"I heard from the elders that my daughter is living in here with you?" He asked.

"Who is she really?"

"Her name is Aria Nonoa. My second daughter."

"Yeah, she is in her bedroom right now."

I turned my attention to the group and told them I can't make it today, or tomorrow since I am booked. Peter tried to join Aria's father and me, but with a firm voice he cut him off completely, which surprised me more.

We excused ourselves to the house, and went for tea in the living room. I climbed the stairs and called out for Aria.

"Hey, Aria your father is here." I said.

"Huh! What is he doing here?" Flustered, she asked.

"I don't know," I said.

"Tell him that I am coming so he should wait... Oh, and if he says anything about marriage just ignore him, he is just a big fan of multi-species marriage." Though, her face was covered by the door separating us, I could sense the shyness coming from the room.

"Ah... Sure."

I walked back silently, but her father had other plans. He wanted to talk about me marrying his daughter.

Aria frantically ran from her room to silence his father. But unfortunately, he was too fast for her. He said: "Will you marry my daughter?"

At first I didn't hear the words correctly, all I heard was: "Will you berry my farm." Which sounded weird at first. But not wanting to disappoint I accidentally ended up saying: "Yes."

"Really, you will marry my daughter?" He asked.

My mind immediately jumped to the understanding of the situation. If I said yes, then he would be overjoyed but I know it is an accident. But if I said no, then he would think that I am rude.

"I think we need to ask her first though," I said.

I know she would say no so I am good for now at least.

Aria as expected rejected it out right. But it still kinda hurts a bit.

"Will you marry him?" Mr Nonoa asked.

"I think Rial is a good person, we are still too young to think about things like that so I have to reject you okay," she gently said.

"It's alright."

She looked at me. knowing that I just misheard her father's words earlier.
