Chapter 61 - Chapter 9.5: A journey and the sand fight

16/11/998:

On Monday we all made our of the village. Aishia, Alphia, Aria, Alin, Julia and I began our journey to the Asteroid kingdom. After receiving the news I started inviting all the other members I chose as a team.

Julia's parents were unease, I can't say that I was surprised, in fact I am a human who doesn't belong to the village. But with Alin bright attitude and charm, they ultimately allowed us to take her on the journey. We were offered ships for the travel too.

The air ship of the spirit village was flying ship that could reach an incredible speed of 2,670 mph. I read the book that contained all the information needed to fly the air.

"How fast is the air ship?" Aria asked.

I looked at her and replied "two thousand six and seventy meters per hour, but I think we could reach there in the two days."

"That is a long journey!" Sighing deeply Aishia responded.

"I know right..." Alphia mumbled.

"At least we would get to train along side you," Alin narrated.

Of course, taking care of a team also means teaching them as many surviving skills as they could learn.

"When we land, that is when we would start training."

"Ah!"

"Typical!" Alphia said with a grin on her face.

I sighed and focused more on the road a head, we would land as early as tomorrow early in the morning. Since, the Asteroid kingdom does not have many ship stations, we have to park the ship somewhere in the desert but I would store it inside my space time dimension.

And if we get to fight, I would deliberately it them either lose and win on the their own, this will be done the test two things I am wondering about.

The history of the black asylum:

Max perspective:

Humans are interesting creations truly. There are some with dark sides and others with bright sides as while. In this world, the world view that exists are two: black and white, light and dark.

But the most interesting thing is those with darkness in their hearts grow stronger as they adapt but of those who are bright, they just end up being stuck. And that when they get eaten by their preys.

For me I never I had to go through that pain. Because I knew the one thing that most of my school mates never learned. From my childhood, I was taught to hardened my heart, be stronger than anyone in the room, that was the main rule of the black asylum.

From all the misfortunes that I had happened around me, why couldn't I feel the very sensation of pain, guilt, love, or crying. Aside from my childhood, my emotions of all those sensations had vanished and eventually my cold analytical mind was stuck in this expressionless face I have on.

I wonder will I ever regain my emotions back?

Will I ever see those around me us more than people, will I ever get to make peace within my empty shell or will I stay this way until the very end.

 ~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile- the cold night gazed at the roof of the room where Peter sat. He was looking through books that contained information about the "Black Asylum."
He searched frantically looking for some information, but wouldn't find anything.
"Should I asked man? Or should I go to the students themselves and search within their ranks. No... that would be too risky!"
Peter thoughts were in shambles, he meticulously tried looking into more details but found nothing. His eyes widen though, he has been searching in the wrong place all this time. "I can just ask the great being." He thought.
Peter didn't rushed of to the great being, he walked slowly, calmly, and precisely. His presence wasn't a man looking for information, it was of a man demanding information. With this, he slowly reached the room that brought about dark memories for every student.
Even though some of their emotions were erased, their fears were never gone when it came to the dark room. The person in the room is said to have such immense and over powered aura that when the greatest from their generation meet him they most die.
I only met him once in my dreams and another when I was born but I didn't remember it clearly since I was about a year old, from their onwards I would remember important events very clearly.
With a devilish smile, Peter muttered the words, "Hello oh great one! How have you been... I hope it is a good one..." Peter's voice begun to change from his usual calm aura to a devilish cunning boy who could be predicted.
"Who do you want, boy?" The being asked.
With the little less courtesy he answered, "I want to learn more about the black asylum and I was hoping I would help me find out the answers I am seeking," Peter said.
Peter voice seems to have returned to his usual calm voice now.
"Great that devil is out of you!" The great being sighed as he stared at him.
"What do you mean?" Peter asked.
"Never mind. It is not that important for now." He replied.
"Anyways, the question I have for you is really complicated to ask but do your best to answer that is all I ask for you..."
"Go go, but that being said. I can not answer anything that isn't within my shared knowledge of living in this world." The being said.
"Shared knowledge?" Peter asked.
"I write my experiences I have ever had in journals, and those who find them gain more knowledge in one book that they would never gain in their life time." The answer wasn't as Peter expected but he couldn't argue.
"Uh-huh... The question I had for you was: Where are black asylum students? Why did they come from? What happened to the older generations?" All these questions brought a chuckle to the being's face.
"The slaves huh! How amusing!" The being narrated.
Peter face's began to shift from calm to disbelief. To think that there is an organization training children, but those children's future are worse than the one's of commoners.
"When they graduation from the institution with their level of mastery being revealed... They are then selected by other kingdoms. Which in turn helps that country with military power but before any of that is completed, there are special devices placed within them. This ensures that if we meet on the battle field one day."
"You can the person with that device huh!" Peter continued his sentence.
That was very dark to hear, even for Peter, but he didn't even flinch he had done more crazy things than just traumatizing some children.
"Was that all you wanted to ask?" The being asked Peter.
"Yeah, that will be all for now. Take care!"
And with that, Peter left the room without making loud noises. But still, why was Max so special?
Yes, he did have the soul eyes and have incredible mana reserves, but the teachers here can not just stop talking about him. It is as if I am the third one in this place.
This was the thought that followed with Peter's mind. His had lost against Rial and even now that he went there, he has been constantly compared to me. But he didn't let that get to him, he raised his head high and began forming a plan.
 ~~~~~~~~

Desert fight:

Rial's perspective:

17/11/998:

It has been a fully day since we started travelling on the airship. And although we have reached the asteroid kingdom, we still needed to park within a safe a distance. This was done ensure that we come in peace and that we are not here fight or spy on anyone.

I drove within a safe distance on the desert then landed it on the large amount of sand.

"How can they live here with a desert like this? Why, don't they need water to survive or they just dig underground?"

Alphia asked while being curiously observant.

"No. I think they use water astral art for drinking, washing and the use of everyday life. I think that is how they are surviving without water." Aria responded to here question.

After landing the ship, the others and I got out. Alphia, Aria, Julia and Alin all stood at the edges of the ship, forming a rectangular shape since that would be a shape for the ship. Each of them had a scroll which had a sealing symbol in the center. Each of them opened the scroll carefully each one making sure that no one went faster than the other. If that happened, they all would have to restart the whole process.

Using my charkra signature, I spread my mana to search if there are intruders.

There are four of them coming, two boys and two girls, they all seem strong especially the little kid that is hanging around the other girl.

I will let them fight them, if they we lose than I would see my assessment of this team of mine. But knowing the team, I would say that they can hold them off.

"Uh, there are four incredibly strong people coming here, get ready to fight them." I said coldly, while being dismissively.

I would intervene when it is absolutely necessary.

 ~~~~~~~~
With that, Alphia, Aria, and Aishia stared the desert. From far north, we saw a speeding blur that were heading towards us.
As they approached us, their faces and features became visible. One had black hair like mine except I had silver mix in with my hair. He had red eyes and a sword hanging around his side. The girl beside him had blue hair and strange eyes I couldn't see properly. There were also a blonde one who could fly like Alphia and Aria. Then there was the kid, he had green hair, and some special type of eye.
I don't know what type of eye that was but it was definitely a special eye, in fact I bet that all of them had special eyes. If that is true then this is going to be heated battle.
The four flew closer and closer, the boy seemed very very similar. We had similar faces but very different features when it came to expressions. He had this angry expression to him, I stared for while before analyzing the whole situation.
More than likely, a fight a break out but I wouldn't let it going far enough that someone would die either mine or theirs.
The group sped towards us, after reaching some close distance they began questioning us and our motive.
"We are here to report information to the king of this nation. Further more, we here on the orders of an alliance so there is no need for a fight," with a gentle voice, Aria spoke the true reason why we are here.
I stood on the side barely getting noticed by the group.
"And why should we believe you!" With a cold gaze sharper than glass the boy in the group spoke out. He looked about the same age as all of this except maybe two to three year older than us.
I then gazed at the girl with blue hair, to be honest she looked really beautiful, almost divine but unfortunately that didn't get me to be interested in her.
"Hey, you two. Don't you like the beautiful woman standing near you?" The other girl asked confusion.
She said that while looking at me and Alin, we were the only boys on the team to be exact but why did she ask that question?
"Not really." We both answered.
"Huh!"
"What!?"
"How that be!?"
They are stared at us coldly, without a moment to spare the fight began.
The blonde girl took off into the air, gazing at Aishia she began to shoot deadly beams at her. She gathered up energy to sustain her strength. Aishia also gathered up charkra around her, using her immense speed she speed blitzed the blonde girl.
"Wow! You can really fight huh!" The boy said amusingly.
He had intercepted them in the last minute, Aishia didn't even sensed or see him as he approached. He erased his magical presence while he intercepted them too.
On the another side, the young boy and Alin stood face to face.
"So, you are the new brats the other has sent! You look really really cute, no weak and fragile is the correct words for definition!" With extremely provoking words, he angered Alin prompting him to have a killing intent.
"Calm down, Alin focus on the fight and connect with your spirit if need be."
I said as I calmed him down.
Alin drew out his short sword, ready to face him. Alin dashed forward with all his might, he had gathered up magical energy to slice the boy. The boy gazed at Alin and for some reason his eyes did a reverse motion. As Alin's blade got closer to the boy, the damage was reserved from the victim to the attacker. Alin body fell as blood began to pour out his body his.
"Huh!" Alphia eyes widen.
"Alin!" With an extreme frustration building up in her, Aria shouted out Alin's.
She dangerously gazed at the boy, who climbed on his sister's back. The girl began to fly but so did Aria. She removed her disguise and with strong emotions began chasing the girl and her brother. We all didn't know what that kid was capable of but we should probably be carefully around him, he is dangerous.
Aria fired off twenty giant fire balls at with but for some reason the attack kept reserving back to the attacker.
The boy also had the same eyes as me. Ah! Now I get it. They have been sighed as guards, that is the reason why they willing to kill us. Since, I was the driver they wanted me to see all my comrades die but that is not going to happen.
"Sis, get me a little lower. I am going to kick her heart out of her body!" The grinned as his sister complied.
Alin woke up from blow he had taken earlier, within that little time frame he had been able to figure out that boy's ability.
"Reflection"
"The ability to reflect any kind of damage a person intends to harm you with. It works either with magic, martial arts or sage arts. Everything is useless against a person like him."
Knowing how bad this battle can end, I decided now is the time that I would step in.
In fact, they all battle for about fifteen minutes now.
The boy leaped from his sister's back, using his momentum in the air the boy raised up his right foot and kicked Aria down so bad that the ground scattered upon impact.
"..."
For a moment, there was brief silence. Alin looked at with an unknowing expression. I waited for the words to leave his mouth but it never did.
Then he shouted "Big sister!" The shout was so loud as the wind seems to separate when it made impact.
Aria body laid there cold, and untouched body. When I turned to look at Alin, I didn't see Alin, I saw a demon in a human flesh.
"Oh! Weak-chan is about to get around two. Come on," the boy arrogantly said to him.
Alphia looked just as terrified, Alin's spirit had taken control over his body, but unlike Alphia's his spirit wanted justice for his host's sister.
I quickly grabbed my sword and gazed at all of them. Without sugarcoating anything, I put away the hair that covered my rinne pure eyes.
"What!?" '
"....!"
"No! NO! NO! NO! NO!"
"What is that?" The boy asked.
I smiled coldly and responded, "Your death, I am not killer but there are sometimes that I have to take justice into my own hands which means you have die here!"
Alin and his spirit looked at me and gave me a fist pump.
"I will take a older boy while Aishia fights the other girl, I guess you have to fight that boy again."
"That is fine, I will be okay this time.
Aishia vs Delta
"What are you?" Delta aked looking curiously at Aishia.
Without changing her expression Aishia said calmly, "I am a spirit hosted by Rial."
"Huh!"
Delta began shooting rapidly at Aishia but she dodged without no difficulty. At the same time, the older tried to sneak up on Aishia. Using the element of surprise, he drove out his sword in hand ready to strike her, but at that time I had already read his moves and dove in with my sword. "Clash, clash, clash. " I successfully blocked him.
Using my sword I blocked his sword from connecting with her back. I used astral art by enhance my attacking speed and durability.
The older boy is undoubtedly stronger than me in terms of physicality and durability.
I gazed at Aishia who understood my intensions immediately, we both slipped past them and fired a huge massive fire ball which blocked their sight.
"Julia, take Aria with you guys to somewhere safe, after we are done we will come to find you."
My main intension here was to end this as peaceful as I could. Perhaps, this is all my fault if I had fought from the beginning all this wouldn't have happened.
"A two vs four battle huh! How interesting."
Alin seemed to calm down a bit, he stood right beside me.
"What are names?" I asked
"My name is Oscar Karasuki. The one beside me is Delta, the other girl here is Akane and her little brother is Deamon."
"Great! Now we have useless names we are going to do nothing with!" Alin answered in a sarcastic tone.
The boy gazed at me with a gaze full of pain and anger, it seems that I had something to do in his past which I don't remember.
With that, he dashed forward his hand still held a sword, I used my sword in a reverse motion while turning. With a single sharp swing, I sliced his sword in half.
"Wow!"
"That was cool!" Alin said with excitement.
"Wait, you were holding back weren't you? That is why you never fought us." The prince said.
"Yeah. Took you long enough to figure it out. By showing you my rinne pure eyes you all awaken the fear of having to fight me. Then I used that opportunity to help the girls escape and now we are the only ones left."
"Then, what about that girl?"
"Aria was never hit, by using a time space dimension, I managed to save her just in time but I also needed it to seem that you won so that they could escape if necessary." I explained what I had planned from the very beginning.
"Now what do you want?" The older boy asked coldly.
"To meet with the king and discuss a very serious situation."
"Follow me."
Although the battle had an unexpected ending, I never intended for it to go as far as a death battle too. But, I had say I was extremely worried about Aria when the kid was about to make contact. I was relieved when I able to intervened in time.
"Hey Alin, can you go and inform them that we are going into the kingdom?"
"Sure."
