Howl shook his head helplessly, but didn't say anything else; the sincerity of a centenarian weighed no less than a mountain, and he truly couldn't refuse.
But from his heart…
"I'm not some genie…" Howl murmured.
Aberforth's expression was grim, yet he heard the person in front of him slowly say, "I truly cannot grant wishes, but… I'll do my best."
"Thank you!" Aberforth's face lit up with joy, and he nodded solemnly: "Whatever you need me to do, just ask."
"No need." Howl shook his head; he wasn't so calculating of gains and losses at all times; living like that was too tiring.
"Consider it my gift, to a true Gryffindor."
Hearing this, Aberforth laughed, a hearty, unrestrained laugh. He slapped his thigh, and after a good while, he said, "I'm not a Gryffindor. I haven't even been to Hogwarts, even though it's right next to me."
"Then I believe you will be a Gryffindor," Howl said.
Had he said something similar before?
Well, never mind.
After Aberforth left, Lucifer looked at Howl.
"Howl, we need to talk," Lucifer suddenly said with a serious expression.
You want to talk too??
You disgraceful, vulgar thing, what do you want to talk about again?!
"What do you want to say?" he immediately asked.
"About Nagini," Lucifer said seriously. Howl became puzzled; could he have some brilliant idea?
"Regarding this, I suggest you conduct your work here. I believe there's no better place for magical research, whether it's for equipment or materials, or considering the presence of a Parseltongue here…"
"So Dumbledore should bring Fawkes over often, right?"
Lucifer squinted, cupping his fiery little hand in front of his mouth, feigning a cough.
"Ahem… Yes… Ahem!"
"Troublesome," Howl sighed.
"What do you mean, troublesome? You were elsewhere every day last year. Do you know how much I was alone here…"
Howl interrupted him: "Isn't there Meteor?"
"It's afraid I'll burn it to death!" Lucifer roared indignantly.
On the other side, Meteor's broom head bent into an arc, then shook repeatedly, unsure what it was trying to express.
"Alright." Seeing this, Howl could only nod helplessly.
The next day, when Dumbledore and Aberforth arrived at Moonlight Fortress, the entire first floor of the Castle had completely changed its appearance.
Towering bookshelves reaching the ceiling couldn't completely accommodate all the cluttered books, and large quantities of ancient texts were scattered and piled on the floor or tables.
Several long tables were irregularly arranged in the middle, each table piled with different items: alchemy equipment, unknown animal furs, strange metal ores, and even animated unknown Worm animals.
Only in the middle, on one table, like an operating table, beneath a leather cushion, were several restraint straps with magic patterns that looked difficult to break free from at a glance.
