Chapter 158 - Chapter 158 You Can Be the Heir of Slytherin

"So you're taking it?" Howl looked at Dumbledore. The Basilisk certainly couldn't remain here and become a tool for others to do evil.

Dumbledore nodded. "Speaking of which, I've always been curious about that sealing spell Harry displayed earlier."

As he spoke, Howl raised his hand, and several circular, gilded runes shimmered in the air, appearing and disappearing.

After the runes were constructed, he pushed his hand forward, and the runes quickly entered the Basilisk's forehead.

The Basilisk twisted its body in fear, breaking free from the Transfiguration restraints Dumbledore had previously set, and fell into shattered pieces of stone, crashing onto the floor.

However, its resistance was of little use.

It uncontrollably landed in Howl's hand, then coiled around his little finger, transforming into a snake ring.

He took it off and tossed it to Dumbledore.

Then, the two left again.

"This is…" Dumbledore looked at the scene before him in surprise. The moment they appeared, Dumbledore knew this was the second-floor corridor of Hogwarts.

"Myrtle's territory. The passage to the Chamber of Secrets earlier was connected here," Howl explained. "It seems this was Myrtle's true cause of death."

Dumbledore nodded. When this happened, he was still the Transfiguration Professor at the school.

At that time, it was the most intense period of his confrontation with Grindelwald. After Grindelwald's power waned following the Bhutan election, his methods became even more unscrupulous, and the Wizarding World was in a state of panic. Everyone knew that only Dumbledore at Hogwarts could stop Grindelwald.

Because of this, he didn't have time to pay too much attention to school affairs.

At most, he saved Hagrid and kept him at Hogwarts.

Thinking of this, Dumbledore suddenly recalled a question that had plagued him and them for half a century.

After some thought, he still didn't speak.

"Let's go check the common rooms of the various Houses next," he said instead.

At this time, to ensure stability within the school, all the Professors were in the common rooms to prevent any Little Wizards from doing anything out of line at this moment.

In Gryffindor Tower, the two passed the Fat Lady's portrait and walked through the dark tunnel. Suddenly, the entire common room opened up brightly.

"Alright, children, that's enough. I'll answer your questions in class later." Professor McGonagall dispersed the surrounding children and walked towards the two.

"I thought the common room would be bustling right now," Howl said with a smile. It seemed McGonagall held considerable authority in the children's hearts.

McGonagall smiled, then asked seriously, "Albus, what's the situation now? I've heard many rumors from the children saying Harry is the Heir of Slytherin…"

Her voice was very low, and the children were far away, unable to hear clearly.

"Minerva, we all know that Parseltongue is just a talent, nothing more."

McGonagall nodded. "I know, Albus. My point is, has it been resolved? Have you found anything?"

The strangeness of Dark Arts made her inherently cautious, especially when it concerned the children. Just thinking about how Lord Voldemort entered Hogwarts last year sent shivers down her spine.

"We'll explain later," Dumbledore said. "Right now, we need to search all the common rooms."

"Didn't we ask the house-elves earlier…"

"Are all the children here?" Dumbledore suddenly asked. "There might be danger in the school now, so it's best not to let them be outside the common room."
