Chapter 166 - Chapter 166 This is the Real Fred George

"MacChlery, what does this have to do with you?" Someone from Hufflepuff asked unhappily.

"The Heir of Slytherin, who else but a Parseltongue!"

"Didn't he admit it himself? Are you still protecting him?"

A Ravenclaw pushed up his glasses and said coldly, "We just want to see."

MacChlery had never been good with words, and in this situation, he preferred to be simple and direct.

"What are you looking at?! What do you think Parseltongue is? You want to see? Are you worthy?" He directly retorted angrily, making the Ravenclaw who had just spoken flush.

"You guys even had a fight in the common room a few days ago and made a bet. Now you're still speaking up for him?" Someone else shouted.

"Don't talk in the crowd, if you have the guts, stand out for me!" MacChlery pointed directly at the crowd that had spoken.

"What do Slytherin's problems have to do with you?" Another voice rang out from the other side of the corridor.

It was the person who had bet with Harry!

He slowly descended the stairs, looking at the crowd below.

"That's Slytherin's own problem, it's not for you to meddle in.

As for the Chamber of Secrets, if you are now so suspicious of Potter, can I assume that you are questioning Dumbledore?"

The Slytherin people didn't really care for Dumbledore; Harry had known this from what Malfoy said when school first started last year.

But this didn't stop him from using Dumbledore's name to put pressure on the other houses.

After Harry sorted out the logic in his words, a hint of admiration appeared in his eyes.

Even if they didn't get along in the common room, outside the house…

"What are you doing gathered here?" Professor McGonagall suddenly appeared.

The Slytherin people quietly watched the children from the other three houses gathered there.

The others, however, scattered like birds. As the crowd thinned, she immediately saw the large snake that had come out of nowhere. She looked at Potter and the others with confusion.

After a moment, she sighed helplessly.

Unlike young teachers who always have beautiful illusions about children, Professor McGonagall, after decades of teaching, knew too well what was going on in the heads of these ten-year-old children.

Some were bold, some were timid; some were as frivolous as clouds, some were down-to-earth. However, putting these aside, one of the most significant characteristics of children this age is…

They are easily led by some insignificant rumors and fall into a herd mentality lacking independent thought.

"Alright, Potter, go have lunch. Don't think too much, Parseltongue is just a talent."

It was both comforting him and reminding him.

Harry nodded seriously, "I know, Professor McGonagall."

In the Great Hall, a moment after lunch, Hermione found Harry. She had already heard about what happened earlier and her face was pale.

"That's too much! What do they take you for? A monkey performing in a zoo?" She scolded him without reservation.

"I'm used to it." Harry smiled indifferently, tapping the scar on his forehead.

Actually, he wasn't that used to it. When he saw that snake just now, he immediately realized what those people meant, and he was indeed a bit angry at the time.

It's just that now, in front of Hermione, he felt there was no need to express such thoughts.

After they chatted for a while, Harry bid farewell to Hermione and went to the Weasley Twins' small workshop to continue making the questionnaires.

Hermione watched Harry's retreating back, feeling a bit worried. There were already quite a few rumors in the common room now.
