"Expelliarmus—"
Inside the classroom, a wand was waved, and a thin beam of magic flew out, landing on Howl's hand, where a force appeared out of nowhere.
He opened his fingers, letting the wand fly out and land in Cedric's hand opposite him.
"A very impressive spell, used in the very first class. Five points to Hufflepuff," Howl said with a smile.
Cedric nodded and bowed slightly. To make a good impression here, he had privately studied this spell for a long time, and finally, in the first class, he stepped onto the stage and successfully cast it.
As for why he needed to perform like this, it was because of a rumor circulating in the school, originating from who-knows-where, that as long as one could gain Professor Jones's approval, there was a good chance of learning some private techniques.
No one was without anticipation for that enormous wand and the dazzlingly powerful magic.
Even though Professor Jones had not confirmed this rumor.
But he also hadn't denied it!
Howl's eyes flickered, understanding what the guy was thinking. He raised his hand and snapped his fingers. A white light, without revealing its trajectory, suddenly burst open in Cedric's hand. A force appeared out of nowhere, and then the wand returned to his hand.
"Alright, in that case, today's lesson ends here. After class, remember to review the casting logic of Expelliarmus. If you don't understand anything, remember to find an upper-year student. Remember the core of this lesson—theory as auxiliary, practical combat as primary!" Howl said.
Watching the Little Wizards bid him farewell one by one and then walk out of the classroom, he couldn't help but pick up his teacup, blow on the goji berries floating inside, and then take a small sip.
Life was becoming more and more about health preservation.
He couldn't help but imagine himself wearing a polo shirt and slacks, his belly bulging, a book in his left hand and a teacup in his right.
Truly…
Thinking of this, he felt a bit helpless, and then remembered he only had half a bottle of rapid hair-smoothing potion left, contemplating writing to Diagon Alley to restock after class today.
"Professor!" A Little witch suddenly stood in front of him, interrupting him. Howl recognized the girl at a glance; she was the one who… gave him dried fish a while ago.
"Professor, what do you like?" she asked somewhat cautiously.
"Oh, why do you ask?" Howl looked at her in surprise, then noticed a group of little ones peeking their heads out from the classroom doorway.
"Uh… I must say, I don't really recommend you give me any gifts for Christmas. Your willingness to attend my class is the best gift to me," Howl said with a gentle smile.
Actually… he wouldn't give any gifts in return, but saying it out loud was another matter.
So far, he rarely gave gifts to others.
Except for the Adams family, because their family was truly too anti-human, so Howl conveniently used them to deal with some troublesome Dark Arts items.
They were very happy. The two Adams children performed a sibling chase show for Howl, even using a guillotine that Louis XVI himself had personally tested back in the day…
"Professor, I was just asking, and your answer is too standard, like the platitudes my dad says to his clients," the Little witch said with a cunning smile.
Howl smiled helplessly: "Whatever… but I'm honored to be asked this question."
The Little witch, having received her answer, skipped out.
The children for the next class soon arrived. Howl raised his wand and tidied up the desks and chairs.
This class was for first-years, children from Gryffindor and Ravenclaw.
In the back row, there were also three or two upper-year students, including those who had stayed from the previous class.
The first-year curriculum wasn't difficult. Those who remained here were all little academic overachievers striving for perfection.
When the class bell rang, he surveyed the room, confirmed everyone was present, and then coughed twice—to pull Luna Lovegood's thoughts back.
This Ravenclaw girl always seemed to be in a daze. Some time ago, Howl even suspected she might be the one who opened the Chamber of Secrets, but after observing for a while, he found that wasn't the case.
