"So, can you now feel what the so-called real world is like?" Howl asked.
"Yes, yes!" Harry nodded, sweating profusely, his mind still in a daze.
It seemed like something had been added.
And something had been lost.
The most terrifying thing just now wasn't the 'feeling' of endless falling or constant rising.
It was the shock and—fear—that came from having his worldview shattered after realizing his own insignificance.
The fear of the boundless deep space.
"Uncle Howl, what… what was that I just broke through?"
Harry felt he might never forget that sight.
"As you saw, that was… the Chaos Sea." Howl explained, "What you just saw was the Chaos Sea that appeared after breaking through the Crystal Wall System. In short, it's the place outside the world."
"Outside… the world?!" Harry murmured.
"Don't think too much about it." Howl said, "Compared to that, it's better to focus on what's in front of you for now."
With that, Howl handed the newspaper back and walked out of the alley.
"We'll talk about the specifics when we get back. Once the theoretical model framework is built, the rest is a matter of magic."
With that, he walked out.
Harry held the newspaper; the chaotic ink stains on it had disappeared, leaving only the infinitely iterating snowflakes and the formula beside them.
He didn't quite understand it.
But the logic supporting its existence was already clear.
Thinking this, he quickly calmed himself, patted his face, and followed behind Howl.
There weren't many people in the square at night, perhaps because Christmas was approaching. In this winter, people preferred to stay in their warm homes, drinking a cup of hot tea or wine.
However, they soon saw someone.
Huckleton.
"What a coincidence." Howl said, "I saw you went to find Diogenes."
"Yes." Huckleton nodded, rubbing his slightly cold hands, and smiled helplessly, "It's still a bit cold at night. I thought of bringing him two pieces of clothing, but he refused, haha."
"He is indeed practicing the way of the Cynics." Howl nodded.
Huckleton nodded, "Indeed, for such a person, though I don't understand, I still maintain respect."
With that, he changed the subject, "Jones, I found an interesting anecdote in an ancient text."
Howl knew that Huckleton was trying to deduce the thief's motive from the archives and various texts, so he nodded, adopting an inquiring posture.
