Lord Deon raised his wine glass and drained the remaining contents. He set it down and said sadly, "All this time, I believed my daughter had long since perished in the Void. How could I possibly kill you after finding you?"
"How long are you going to keep lying to me? Tell me, what do you want from me?"
"I only want you to break through your final limits and free yourself from the bonds of the divine laws."
"Basically, once I become a high god, the divine laws won't be able to bind me. It will take time, but I'm willing to endure it."
Lord Deon shook his head, realizing he wouldn't be able to make Kelsey break the chains that bound her with sheer persuasion. "That's enough about me. Why don't we talk about the real reason you came here?"
She had come to confirm something—but what exactly that something was… she didn't fully understand. Too many things contradicted what she had learned in the divine realm. Somehow, she had hoped Lord Deon would give her clarity.
