This fifth bolt was twice as powerful as the previous one, instantly destroying all the protective shields. Kelsey groaned in pain as the four shields connected to her soul shattered. The backlash severely injured her soul, yet the lightning did not stop. It continued descending, intent on striking her down.
Luca was about to defy the laws of the heavens and create another shield to protect his wife, but a voice in his mind stopped him.
Just as the lightning was about to strike Kelsey's head, a new barrier emerged from her chest. It was pitch-black and carried a powerful aura of death. Even against the fifth lightning bolt, it did not waver. With trembling legs, Kelsey collapsed to her knees, but a hand quickly caught her.
"Are you alright?"
"That… that wasn't me. Can I still continue the trial?"
