'What should I do?'
I wondered how to contact Cael. The number I had was outdated. I had no address. No way to reach him.
The chasm between us had grown so wide that I did not even know where my own brother lived.
Then the only answer I could think of was Mira, my fiancée. She might have Cael's contact. After all, she and Cael were considered friends.
'Friends.'
How low had I fallen? I am his brother, yet I have to ask his friend to get his contact.
I hate it. No, I regretted it.
I called Mira. She answered after a few rings. Her voice was calm, familiar.
"Lucian? It has been a while."
I did not waste time with pleasantries. I asked if she had Cael's number.
She paused for a moment, then said she did. She also told me she did not know his address, but she had his contact information.
That was enough.
After receiving Cael's number, I immediately called it. But the phone was switched off. The call went straight to voicemail.
I gritted my teeth.
