Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: Strange Demon

"We believe what you said."

Musashi looked at the Old man and said.

The Old man was slightly surprised after hearing Musashi's words. Before, when he told others these things, he was always treated as a senile old man.

"It's good that you're willing to believe me. Now, just stay here until dawn. These demons hate the smell of Wisteria flower and fear the sun," the Old man said.

He thought that since these two children were willing to believe him, they definitely wouldn't go out. However, Musashi's next action completely exceeded his expectations.

"Zenitsu, you stay here and protect this Old man. I'll go take care of the demon in the Temple first."

Musashi said to Zenitsu.

"Okay..."

"Are you even listening to me?!"

Just as Zenitsu was about to nod in response, the Old man, who was leaning against the Wisteria flower tree, couldn't sit still after hearing Musashi's words. He stood up with a start and shouted at Musashi, completely bewildered.

"That's a demon! With sharp fangs and immense strength, how could a little brat like you possibly deal with it? Just listen to me and stay here until dawn, otherwise it will definitely eat you."

Zenitsu, listening to the Old man's words from the side, even felt like laughing. He felt that the one who should be running when encountering Musashi should be the demon.

"Thank you for your concern, but slaying demons is our job, our responsibility, and something we have to do. Don't worry, I'll be fine. I hope you can tell me in detail about what you just said when I get back," Musashi said with a smile, turning to the Old man, and then ran towards the Temple on the mountain.

Night had already fallen. The Old man, seeing Musashi, who had already run out of the Wisteria flower forest, stamped his feet in anger and shouted at his back:

"If you go out, you won't come back! Don't say I didn't warn you!"

However, Musashi's figure disappeared into the distance the next moment. The Old man sat down again, huffing.

For a stranger he had just met, he had already done his utmost to help. There was no need to put himself at risk.

"You blond brat, why didn't you try to persuade him? He's your companion, isn't he? Aren't you worried he'll go out and get eaten by a demon?" The Old man took a hard puff from his pipe to calm himself down, then looked at Zenitsu and asked.

Blond brat...

Zenitsu felt offended when he heard the Old man's words, but remembering that the Old man didn't forget to bring them along when he was escaping earlier, and had painstakingly tried to persuade them, Zenitsu held back.

"I think the one who should be worried is that demon," Zenitsu replied truthfully.

When Musashi trained them, he also trained himself. Zenitsu only saw him train once and realized that he was incredibly strong, almost inhuman. Musashi could do ten or even dozens of times the training they did, and complete it much faster than them, even doing different training consecutively without giving himself time to rest.

Therefore, no matter what training Musashi arranged for them, they couldn't refute it with a "you do it if you can" because he really could, and he could complete it with far more training than them.

The Old man looked at Zenitsu after hearing his words and said, "Are all children nowadays as boastful as you?"

The Old man felt what Zenitsu said...

Zenitsu felt like he had been stabbed with a knife, but he had no way to deal with this Old man, so he simply turned his head away, out of sight, out of mind.

On the other side, Musashi had already arrived at the Temple again.

The Temple was still as it was when he first arrived, and the Temple gate had not been opened.

It seems that demon hasn't gone out to hunt yet...

Musashi thought, looking at the scene before him.

"Woo woo woo..."

At this moment, a crying sound came from inside the Temple. Judging by the voice, it was a child's.

...

Hearing the child's crying, Musashi felt a bit speechless. This place was so desolate, where would a child come from? And not much time had passed since he first arrived here.

There was no need to think much; it was almost certainly a demon in disguise. Musashi felt that this demon's intelligence might be relatively low.

Thinking this, Musashi stepped forward, pushed open the Temple gate, and walked in. Moonlight shone into the Temple, and the scene before him was a child hanging from a beam inside the Temple, crying.

However, Musashi felt absolutely no living presence in front of him. The child seemed not to exist. Instead, it was on his right side...

"Big brother, hurry and save me! A monster tied me here! It said it was going to eat me as dessert!"

The child who was hanging spoke, but Musashi ignored him and looked towards the position on his right side.

The previously empty spot revealed the figure of a demon with two horns on its head under the Transparent World. Its body appeared transparent in Musashi's eyes, and the voice just now also came from its direction.

What surprised Musashi was that this demon actually had two brains, with the other brain located below its lungs.

Recalling Muzan, who had five brains, Musashi realized that having more brains didn't necessarily mean higher intelligence.

The invisible demon hiding in the corner felt a shock when it noticed Musashi's gaze fall upon it.

I'm in an invisible state, so why does this guy seem to be able to see me? Is it a coincidence? It seems I need to show him something even more shocking to grab his attention.

Blood Demon Art: Illusory Dream!

The demon gently waved a hand forward, and the scene around Musashi changed. The child disappeared, replaced by a beautiful young woman who walked gracefully towards Musashi.

"Little brother..."

A gentle, tingling voice sounded, but in Musashi's eyes, the one making the sound was still the demon hiding in the corner. Musashi immediately felt a chill.

"You're truly disgusting."

Looking at the demon, he said, and Musashi placed his right hand on the hilt of his sword.

The demon hiding in the corner suddenly had an illusion that it was about to die. Unlike other demons, its perception ability was very strong, but even so, it couldn't perceive Musashi's strength before he even made a move.

[Sun Breathing: Waltz.]

[Blood Demon Art: Star Shift!]

Two voices sounded simultaneously, Musashi's sword technique and the demon's Blood Demon Art activated at the same time.

The demon suddenly disappeared before Musashi's eyes, but Musashi also instantly perceived its location. He quickly turned around in mid-air and found that the demon was now in his previous position, while he was now in the corner where the demon had been hiding.

What's going on? Two Blood Demon Arts with absolutely no connection.

Musashi frowned, feeling some doubt, but he didn't think the demon in front of him was very strong. After adjusting his posture, he drew his sword again.

"Sun Breathing: Threefold Solar Array."

Three arc-shaped slashes entwined with flames instantly shot out, heading towards the demon's neck and two heads in front of him.

"Damn it! How could I encounter a monster like you? Blood Demon Art: Black Blood Thorns!"

The demon roared, and then its blood vessels thickened and bulged, and four long, spiky whips emerged from its back, coiling together to block its front.
