I collected the new phone from one of Mr. Grey's bodyguards and proceeded to my room—Mr. Cross sent it. There was an already registered SIM card, so I got to work immediately.
I keyed in Xavier's number and began typing, my hands shaking in the process. The thought of Xavier's reaction when he sees this is scaring the hell out of me.
I typed a full stop, and my finger hung mid-air as I contemplated whether to send it or not. But I had no other option. Mr. Cross made it sound so serious—that Xavier was not in the mansion. I don't know why he's so worried or should I say scared , but I trust he has his reasons.
Taking a long, deep breath, I finally pushed the send button and tossed the phone on the bed. I just hope it works out.
About a few minutes later, I received a knock on the door. Dragging my lazy body up, I moved to open it. It was one of his bodyguards—but not the one who gave me the phone.
