Agnes was now the embodiment of curiosity.

After listening to Rey and Helena's conversation, she pieced together a shocking conclusion from her surprise.

In the story Helena told, the female protagonist was undoubtedly Helena herself, and the male protagonist was absolutely Rey.

"Are you the old monster who lived for a thousand years?"

After recovering from her shock, Agnes looked at Rey, who was taller than her, and asked with disbelief. Her tone seemed to carry her own subjective judgment, along with a hint of disgust.

An ancient relic over a thousand years old pretending to be a teenager—no matter how she thought about it, Agnes found it hard to accept. Such behavior felt perverted and nauseating.

It might also have been a reaction to feeling deceived. In any case, when Rey tried to step forward to explain, Agnes took two steps back in disgust.

"I just traveled back to a thousand years ago and spent a few years there. It's not what you think; I'm not some undying old demon." Rey said, feeling both amused and helpless, spreading his hands.

"A thousand years ago..." Agnes was still skeptical. After all, time traveling a thousand years could cause massive paradoxes.

Seeing Agnes's expression, Rey's mouth twitched as he continued, "It was a black unicorn that took me back..."

Rey's experience was too miraculous—time traveling over a thousand years. If it had been ordinary time magic, he would likely have been obliterated without a trace. The fact that he returned in one piece made the black unicorn he mentioned a crucial key.

For wizards, using magic for time travel was a serious crime.

And to travel for such a long duration and return alive wasn't just a serious crime; it could be a death sentence.

Such a person was too terrifying. Everyone would fear that he could return to the past and casually alter the present and future.

Moreover, for those with ulterior motives, finding a living specimen who had survived such extensive time travel would be the ultimate research subject.

In other words, if others knew Rey had experienced a time jump of over a thousand years, he would spend the rest of his life either as a lab rat or locked away in maximum security.

Rey hadn't realized the severity of this issue.

He hadn't intended to hide anything from Agnes, so he simply told her about his bizarre experience.

Once Agnes was convinced, she immediately thought of the dangerous implications.

After listening to Agnes's analysis, Rey broke out in a cold sweat. He hadn't died a thousand years ago, but surviving only to face these deadly consequences a thousand years later was terrifying.

"How about I make an Unbreakable Vow?"

Rey's secret was significant. If she could choose, Agnes would rather not have heard it. But now that she knew, only an Unbreakable Vow could solve the trust issue.

Taking this vow meant dying instantly if one were about to reveal the secret. It was undoubtedly an effective way to keep a secret.

"No need. I trust you, Agnes."

"I trust you too."

Rey smiled and refused, with Helena adding her agreement. If Rey had to choose between keeping the secret and Agnes's life, he would choose Agnes's life without hesitation.

A friend's life was priceless. Besides, Agnes had been helping him since before they even entered the school.

The three chatted for a while. Helena spoke a lot with Agnes, but surprisingly little with Rey.

"Maybe it's just my imagination," Rey comforted himself, sensing Helena's strange distance. He looked at the fact that Helena was now a ghost.

Maybe there's a way to resurrect Helena in this wizarding world, he thought.

Regarding ghosts, the Queen of Evil Spirits, Reypel, had the most authority. But ever since Rey destroyed the teleportation circle in the underground hall, Reypel had entered a deep slumber.

Rey had called out to her in his mind many times with no response. It seemed unlikely she would wake up anytime soon.

"What do you plan to do next?" Agnes's question interrupted Rey's thoughts.

Rey snapped back to reality and said matter-of-factly, "Expose the fact that Cabor Doric is a vampire, of course."

"Have you figured out how to do it?" Helena asked.

"Sure. The most direct way is to use Dumbledore's Pensieve."

Agnes nodded in agreement; that was indeed the most straightforward method.

"Then you should go now, before anything else happens," Helena urged.

"Okay, I'm going now," Rey replied briskly. Exposing Cabor Doric as soon as possible was indeed the priority.

"I'll go with you..." Agnes started to say, intending to join Rey to find Dumbledore since she was involved in investigating Doric.

But before she could finish, Helena interrupted her. "Agnes, wait a moment. I have something to say to you alone."

---

Women always seemed to have endless topics to discuss, and Helena seemed intent on distancing herself from Rey.

Being shunned by the ladies, Rey didn't stick around to be a nuisance. Besides, he knew where the Headmaster's office was; he didn't need a guide.

He left Ravenclaw Tower, descended the stairs, and headed for the Headmaster's office on the third floor.

Classes were in session, so few students were walking through the castle.

However, in the sparsely populated corridor on the third floor, Rey ran into an acquaintance.

Marcus Flint, the Chaser for the Slytherin Quidditch team.

This guy was probably skipping class and just happened to bump into Rey.

Seeing the missing Rey appear, Marcus froze for a moment before shouting, "Hey! Rey MacFusty. Why aren't you dead yet?"

Rey gave him a cool glance and ignored him.

As an adult (mentally), there was no need to stoop to a child's level. But that dismissive look and the act of walking past without acknowledging him instantly enraged Marcus Flint.

Marcus Flint had suffered a loss at Rey's hands before; that stumble three months ago was still fresh in his memory. He had planned to get revenge, only to hear news of Rey's disappearance.

Rey had been gone for over three months, and Marcus thought he'd lost his chance to get even. Who would have thought that while sneaking out of class, he would run into the long-lost Rey MacFusty?

This was a godsend opportunity to regain his face.

Marcus Flint was itching for trouble, but Rey walked past him as if he didn't exist. This was a massive insult to his pride.

Furious, as they passed each other, Marcus reached out, grabbed Rey's arm, and yanked him backward violently.

The pull was sudden. Rey stumbled back a few steps. He didn't fall, but he was forced to stop.

When an impulsive person is in a bad mood, anyone's expression or action feels like a provocation, a slight against their dignity.

Clearly, Marcus Flint was that kind of person.

Rey was pulled back a few steps, a look of helpless resignation on his face. Meanwhile, the thoroughly enraged Marcus Flint flicked his wand and shouted at Rey, " Stupefy! "

After his time travel journey, Rey's abilities had undergone a drastic transformation. In terms of sheer physical reaction speed, Marcus Flint couldn't catch up even if he were on a broomstick.

Before Marcus Flint could even finish his incantation, Rey had already completed casting " Expelliarmus ".

With a twitch of his wand pointing at Marcus Flint's, Rey spoke the spell in perfect coordination.

Rey acted later but struck first, casting his spell a full half-second faster than Marcus Flint. And this was Rey acting casually; if he had tried, he could have been even faster.

Half a second is a huge gap. In a duel between wizards of equal skill, half a second is enough to determine life or death.
