A gun butt to the head is incredibly painful. The world spinning is a guarantee.
For an ordinary person, a concussion would be inevitable, and passing out would be a certainty. But Rey was different.
It hurt, truly hurt. But Rey endured the searing pain and fell to the ground, feigning unconsciousness.
He controlled his body to show absolutely no reaction, wanting the opponent to lower their guard so he could strike suddenly.
This was his chance. Otherwise, without transforming into a Black Dragon, bullets were still very effective against him.
Once transformed, his scales would naturally provide protection. The power of bullets against him in that state would be reduced by several magnitudes.
However, just as Rey was enduring the pain and feigning unconsciousness while the opponent moved to tie him up, he changed his mind.
These people in front of him were merely subordinates of someone named Ephest. Even if he sprang up and killed them now, this Ephest would just send more powerful people later.
To eradicate evil, one must pull it out by the roots. Rey changed his mind, wanting to solve the problem once and for all.
Because he heard them say they wanted to give him a "proper welcome."
---
The trunk of the car was small. Trussed up like a turkey, Rey couldn't even straighten his body.
Endurance, when one has the power to break the status quo, turns into torture.
With a transformation into a Black Dragon, the ropes binding him would snap instantly. He could choose to capture these men and force them to take him to Ephest's residence.
But doing so would be a bit redundant.
Since he was already being taken to see the man, there was no need to complicate things.
However, the cramped space was something his dragon nature deeply disliked.
Irritation rose in his heart, and Rey felt an impulse to vent his dissatisfaction.
Just as Rey was about to kick open the trunk lid, a voice suddenly rang out in his mind: "When did you become so irritable?"
A very disdainful female voice echoed in his head.
The annoyed Rey froze for a moment when he heard the voice, then thought with wild joy, "Rowena, you're awake!"
Surprise, delight—he hadn't expected Rowena, who had been silent for so long, to wake up at this moment.
"I told you before, call me Queen."
Rowena's dissatisfied voice came from his mind. Rey replied happily, "Don't be like that. We know each other so well."
"Who knows you well? If I didn't have to borrow your magic to reshape my body, I would have destroyed you in minutes."
Rowena was roaring, but to Rey, whose mood had suddenly improved, a woman's roar had a certain charm.
"Kid, you're still laughing. Watch out or I'll come out."
"Alright, alright. You can't come out right now anyway, can you? Don't be so grumpy."
"Heh, you're quite the comforter. Who was the one so irritable just now that they wanted to break their own plan? Now you're lecturing me. What right does someone who gets influenced by their own magic without knowing it have to lecture me?"
Rowena teased Rey disdainfully. After hearing this, Rey didn't find it funny. instead, he thought about the deeper meaning of her words.
It was true, as Rowena said. When did he become so irritable? He had almost broken the plan he just made because of that irritation. When did he lose even this little bit of patience?
Seeing Rey fall silent, Rowena felt the teasing was no longer fun, so she continued, "Recovering powerful strength in an instant has caused a big change in your mentality, hasn't it?"
Rowena was right. Thinking about it carefully now, his mentality had indeed become problematic.
His confidence had exploded. He wanted to rob enough money in one go, solve troubles once and for all from the source. Next time he faced other problems, would he be just as greedy and arrogant?
Current him was like a nouveau riche who won the lottery.
Lifestyle, habits, everything changed instantly. Those lottery winners often divorced their wives first thing, married someone younger and prettier, and then lived a life of luxury and indulgence.
Such a life would eventually be paid for by their own future. Few such people had good endings. Either an unexpected death came early, or they returned to mediocrity after indulgence, destitute.
They couldn't control the sudden wealth, just as Rey couldn't control his greed and arrogance now.
---
Wanting to solve the trouble from the source, once and for all.
This was a dangerous thought!
Who knew what was at the source?
Although that Ephest might be an ordinary human, it was clear that a truckload of money wasn't everything to him, possibly just a drop in the bucket.
Money, to some extent, equals resources.
With so many resources, what kind of armament would this source possess?
Various guns were a certainty. What about special heavy weapons?
Just a few heavy machine guns as imagined?
Thinking about it simply now, it felt too naive. With so much money, it was basically impossible for the opponent not to have heavier weapons.
Very dangerous, this decision to solve the trouble from the source.
"Kid, don't scare yourself to death."
Rowena reminded him, snapping Rey out of his thoughts.
Since he had decided, he just needed to implement it carefully. Rowena's repeated reminders were likely to prevent him from being overly arrogant.
A lion uses full strength even when hunting a rabbit. That was the message Rowena wanted to convey.
Ginger gets spicier as it gets older. Rowena, the Queen of the Evil Spirit Valley, had lived for so many years. Her insight was indeed above his.

The black BMW drove out of London, bypassed the suburbs, and then wound its way up a mountain, arriving at a forest outside London.
There was a luxurious manor here, standing alone in the mountains, appearing exceptionally quiet.
Driving past the fountain and entering the underground garage, the unconscious Rey was carried out.
Slap!
A crisp, loud slap to the face. Then a basin of bone-chilling cold water was splashed onto Rey.
With these two stimulants, Rey naturally couldn't keep pretending. Held up by two men, he groggily "woke up." One was a short-haired mercenary, the other a bald giant who looked like a wrestler, standing six foot three.
"Take him to Mr. Ephest's room."
Sokes ordered the bald giant, who immediately shoved Rey into the elevator in the underground garage.
The elevator went straight to the third floor. Rey was taken to a large door guarded by two bodyguards. The bodyguards opened the door and nodded, letting Rey and the giant enter.
Rey was the captive; entering was inevitable. But the bald giant controlling him seemed a bit too excited after getting permission to enter.
The doors opened inward to reveal a massive indoor swimming pool. Brightly lit and incredibly luxurious, it seemed the entire third floor had been transformed into a pleasure palace.
The room temperature was high, and steam rose from the heated pool. Surrounded by gauze curtains and high-end lounge chairs, the sound of women giggling could be heard everywhere.
Young beauties in sexy outfits were everywhere. In the pool, a middle-aged man with a hairy chest was soaking in the water, hugging two beauties who were attending to him.
After some unsightly activities, the man got out of the pool, allowing the naked beauties to wrap a towel around him.
Smack, smack!
Two loud slaps on the beauties' buttocks signaled them to leave temporarily. Then he walked up to Rey and had the bald giant untie him.
Throughout the process, the bald giant's eyes covertly wandered over the naked beauties, but the towel-wrapped man just smiled and didn't mind.
He stared at Rey, perhaps surprised by how young he was. Then he handed Rey a glass of red wine and asked with a faint smile, "Do you want all this? I can give you even better. I can even give you all the money you took.
"As long as you tell me how you moved that money without anyone noticing."
He acted very easygoing and casual, showing no impulse to kill Rey.
"You are Ephest!?"
Rey took the wine glass, looking at the towel-wrapped, hairy-chested man in front of him.
"Yes, I am Ephest. How about it, do you want all this?"
Ephest hooked his finger, and a beauty in her early twenties, who was just about to leave, walked to his side and pressed her body against him.
"If you want, I can give her to you right now."
Although Rey wasn't old, he looked sixteen or seventeen. Ephest believed this was the age when one couldn't resist beauty.
