The last paper was finally over. Lyra stepped out of the examination hall feeling lighter than she had ever felt in weeks.
The moment she crossed the door way, she threw both hands into the air.
"You have no idea how happy I am." She said to Sienna, who walked out behind her carrying her bag over one shoulder.
"We're both happy."
The thought that she'd gone through the exams so well warmed her chest.
"Look, it's Kieran." Lyra followed Sienna's gaze.
"Oh." Sienna grabbed the back of her sleeve before she could take a single step. "Let me go."
"Absolutely not. You said you'd talk to him after midterms. Midterms are over."
"I know that."
"So go talk to him."
"What am I supposed to even say?"
"Anything. You don't need some dramatic speech, just talk to him. You've been thinking about all these nonstop. Just go."
Lyra shot one last glare over her shoulder at Sienna. Her friend merely gave her a thumbs-up and shooed her away with a sweeping motion of her hands.
