Yun Hu was resting in his cage, tail curled neatly, eyes half-closed. The shop was noisy, but none of it mattered. This was his space. His temporary room. His dignity remained intact.
Then a big hooman stopped in front of him. Yun Hu opened one eye.
The hooman crouched down and stared, as if he had already made a decision.
"I want this one."
Yun Hu's tail flicked.
This hooman doesn't know his place. Who does he think he is?
He didn't even bother to respond properly. Instead, Yun Hu shifted sideways, turning his back in a clear rejection.
I should just ignore him.
"I'm Xu Jin," the hooman said.
Yun Hu's ear twitched.
Oh. So he has a name.
He moved even further away, pressing himself into the corner.
I still don't like you. Go away.
After a moment, the hooman actually stood up… and left.
Yun Hu peeked slightly.
Good.
Another hooman came soon after.
This one was quieter. His steps were softer, his presence… calmer.
Yun Hu looked at him properly.
And paused.
