His face paled with fear, as if he were staring at his own death.
"You think I don't know what you're thinking?" Said Death.
His mouth trembled as he spoke. "Th-that's not what I meant—"
Death cut him off. "Then what? Are you underestimating me?"
Enatur didn't dare to look Death in the eye, he just bowed his head. "Who-who dares to do that to you?"
Her tone was cold. "Don't get cocky just because you got a little power from Earth. Killing you is too easy for me, like stepping on an ant."
Half of Death's face turned pitch black, her eyes glowing bright green. "Don't forget, your life belongs to me. Fight to become stronger so that you are worthy of dying by my hand!"
Slowly, Death brought her face close to Enatur's. As she got closer, her face turned green and slowly dissolved into the air.
"Haaahhh... hah... hah!" Enatur breathed a sigh of relief, releasing the tension after facing Death.
"Gimme a break!" His sharp gaze seemed to warn Enatur of his own death.
---
The next morning before dawn. The alarm clock on the hologram screen rang, showing 3:00 AM. Enatur slept wearing a gray singlet and black shorts.
Enatur was fast asleep, while Shadow slept on the bed next to him, in his true form, as tall as a full-grown horse.
His shirt was slightly lifted, revealing a black symbol on his stomach, shaped like the number 6. The symbol emitted black mist.
The black mist thickened, forming a figure like Enatur, his eyes glowing red, Dark Enatur.
His gaze was fixed on Enatur.
From the side, a man's voice was heard. "What the hell are you doing?!" Shadow jumped.
Swing!
He swung his sharp, long claws at Dark Enatur. But it didn't work; his claws didn't hurt Dark Enatur.
Dark Enatur took a few steps back, Shadow stood above Enatur, and protected him from Dark Enatur.
Clap... clap
Dark Enatur clapped his hands at Shadow. "Indeed, a loyal guard dog. But it doesn't matter. In 11 months, or more precisely when he turns 17, I will take over his body, and his soul will die."
Shadow growled at Dark Enatur. "Our family won't let that happen." Shadow released a thick aura of ice.
Small red veins appeared on the sides of his eyes. "We will definitely expel you from his body and destroy you!"
Dark Enatur grinned. "Huh, we'll see about that... Hahaha!"
The black mist disappeared into the air, leaving Shadow still angry at Dark Enatur.
"Fuck off!"
---
Ding... ding... ding
The alarm clock on the hologram screen rang, showing 6:00 AM.
The morning breeze swept the curtains, the pattern of the window panes clearly printed on the floor, shifting slightly as the sun rose higher.
It spread throughout the library-like room. Bookshelves filled with books lined all the walls in the room.
A white coat with a stethoscope hung on the handle of his wardrobe. His Emergency practice uniform lay on the marble floor.
A hand stretched out from under the blanket, pressing the off button in the lower right corner of the clock screen.
"Yawn!" Enatur yawned deeply.
Shadow greeted him. "Good morning, Enatur!"
For a moment, he remained still, letting his head adjust between sleepiness and reality.
"Good morning, Shadow!"
Enatur picked up his glasses from the bedside table. "Working late into the night at the emergency room is really exhausting!"
Shadow chuckled, "Sigh... being a future doctor is really tough." He was teasing Enatur.
---
Enatur got out of bed and stretched. He walked down the hallway to the bathroom while Shadow headed to the lounge.
A female servant was preparing to tidy up his bed. "Good morning, young master."
"Ah, good morning too, auntie Carla."
The bathroom was located at the far end of the changing room.
The sign on the door read: occupied.
He opened the bathroom door, and time seemed to stop. A girl was wearing only wolf-patterned panties, her breasts covered by a towel.
She had shoulder-length blonde hair and golden eyes. They exchanged glances. The air between them was tense.
She was Marissa Himelmes, Enatur's childhood friend.
"Marissa, are you going to scream, 'Kyaa! Enatur no ecchi!'?" said Enatur without feeling guilty.
Anger flashed across her face, and she shouted angrily. "Close the door again, you idiot!"
"Wha—!"
Punch!
Marissa's fist flew quickly, releasing a burst of spiritual energy towards his cheek.
Crash!
Enatur was thrown backwards, hitting the corridor wall until it cracked.
Instantly knocked out.
His eyes rolled back...
"Thank you, rom-com gods, for the scene commonly known as, 'the wrong place, at the wrong time!'"
---
In the lounge, Enatur was brewing coffee for his whole family. A brown-haired woman wearing a black nightgown greeted Enatur. That woman is Earth.
"Good morning, our beloved free barista," Earth smiled softly.
"Good morning, my always glamorous sister," said Enatur.
Earth sips her coffee. "Ahh~... As usual, the coffee you make is really delicious. How about we just get married!"
Enatur raises her thumb. "I'm ready to register at the church!"
They both toast and laugh contentedly. "Hahaha! Let's make lots of babies!"
Yunia's voice sounded soft. "At least wait until he's an adult, Earth." Yunia was wearing a maroon bedrobe. She sat down with them.
"Good morning, Mom!" Enatur and Earth greeted her.
"Good morning, everyone!" said Marissa. Her face was frowning as she looked at Enatur. She was wearing a white tank top and black shorts.
Marissa pointed at her. "Auntie, Enatur peeked while I was taking a shower." She sat down with the others.
Enatur gasped, panicked. "Huh? I was still half asleep, so I didn't see the sign!"
Marissa slammed the table. "The sign was hanging in the middle of the door, and you still didn't see it? How many times do you think this has happened!"
Yunia smiled with a creepy look on her face. "Get ready for a long lecture, Enatur-chan!"
His body trembled, his face pale.
"Good morning!" said Carl. His body was sweaty, having just finished his morning run.
Carl Swordson had golden hair and brown eyes. He was wearing jogging clothes.
"Good morning!" everyone said.
He gave him a cup of coffee. "Ah, thanks, Enatur," Carl said with a light, sincere laugh.
"You're so diligent with your exercise," Enatur said with an annoyed tone.
Carl grinned. "Come jog with me sometime."
"I refuse. You wake up too early!" he said, his cheeks puffing out.
"Hahaha." Carl laughed loudly.
Shadow walked up to Enatur. "Miss Yunia, there's something I want to tell you."
He recounted what had happened at 3:00 AM. Their eyes widened, and they were very surprised.
Yunia held her forehead. "Tch! It's already progressed this far!"
"If only... if only I could find an alchemist who could purify the medicine for him."
"Mom, what about Karen Van Dammon, Yunia?" said Earth. "She's the only alchemist who can do it."
Yunia stared straight ahead. "I've been negotiating with her for a long time, but she said she doesn't know how to purify the Soul Core."
Yunia narrowed her eyes. "Her cousin, Chloe Van Dammon, knows how."
Earth gasped. "Miss Chloe?" she sighed. "But she's already... dead."
Yunia nodded. "That's why, for the past 8 years, there has been no progress regarding information on the best alchemist."
Marissa asked. "Auntie, do we really need a god who is highly skilled in alchemy?"
"Yes, if an ordinary alchemist is used, there is a risk of total failure. We need a god who has in-depth knowledge of the Soul Core."
After a long conversation, they returned to their daily activities.
---
Only Yunia and Enatur remained at the bar table. Yunia sipped her espresso. Shadow lay down and rolled around on the carpet.
Enatur asked curiously. "Are there any reincarnators that you will send to another world today?"
"Hm, there are several. There are many reincarnators with strange requests." Said Yunia.
"As usual, being the creator of life is not easy." Said Enatur.
Yunia nodded. "Even though it's troublesome, humans are still my creation."
Yunia opened the holographic visual screen of several Earth planets, her hand swiping across the screen. She tapped the visual screen of Earth-017, human type-1.
"Mom!" Enatur greeted Yunia.
Yunia glanced at him. "What is it, honey?"
He looked at Yunia, wanting to ask her something, but he was too shy to ask. Then, he took a bar stool and sat down in front of Yunia.
"Can you teach me a new skill, Mom?" said Enatur. Yunia just sat there quietly, listening.
"I have mastered your Authority Space, but I feel that ability is useless in battle!" Enatur pouted. "I want an ability that has destructive and OP attack capabilities."
Yunia lifted her coffee cup slightly, turning it slowly, as if thinking about something.
No words came out of her mouth, her eyes focused on the cup in her hand. Meanwhile, Enatur waited for her answer.
Shadow suddenly curled up on the floor, covering his eyes and ears with his front paws, his white fur standing on end.
Yunia flashed an evil smile on her face, revealing her true identity as a former villain from the past.
"You know, honey... in the past, many gods risked everything they had and knelt before me just to be taught how to use Space."
Her red eyes glowed, a sharp white light splitting her eyes in half.
"And now you say the power of Space is useless?" Her tone was soft, but anyone who heard it would shiver in fear.
Enatur widened his eyes, the room around him suddenly narrowing. "No... no, Mom. That's not what I meant—"
"Actually, I'm going to observe one of the pre-apocalyptic worlds." Said Yunia.
Enatur said awkwardly. "The pre-apocalyptic world? Th... then?"
Her hand, which was holding a glass, stopped moving, creating silence in the room.
Half of her face was covered in thick darkness, her shining eyes staring intently at Enatur. "Can you replace me?"
"Eh?" Enatur was surprised; he had lit a fire.
A dimensional portal opened behind Yunia. "You know, Enatur, this dimensional portal is one of the powers of Space."
"A portal that can take us to any multiverse or Realm we want. Haven't you used it before?" she continued.
His face paled, his voice faltered. "W-what do you mean, Mom?"
Yunia reached out her hand, pulling on his shirt. She swung her arm, and threw Enatur into the dimensional portal.
The dimensional portal slowly shrank and disappeared. Yunia returned her gaze to the hologram screen.
Earth-017, human type-1
humans remaining: 10%
Status: Pre-apocalyptic
(Awaiting confirmation of the apocalypse)
Her smile was thin, her eyes reflecting the blue light from the screen. "Let's see... how well you can use Space, you little brat!"
