Eliana walked back into the gym with a pep in her step, walking past the main rooms to the residential area. For once the broken minds of those scattered about were quiet for once. Sabrina must have take care of them, good it was annoying having to constantly block them out. Opening the door to her room she was surprised to find Sabrina already in there waiting for her.
Eliana immediately started defending herself, even though she probably had done something and just forgot what it was.
Eliana looked over at the desk to find a neatly pressed crimson blouse, its long sleeves buttoned at the wrists and its front adorned with delicate black accents that drew the eye to a frilled white ruffle at the chest. A small black bow, set with a round golden clasp, rested just beneath the collar. The skirt flared out, layered in charcoal and trimmed with a darker ruffle that swayed with each movement, while a line of red buttons marched neatly down the front. Cream-white socks hugged her calves, their tops gently scalloped, disappearing into polished black shoes decorated with red bows that mirrored the rich tones of her blouse.
Altogether, the outfit balanced elegance and youthful charm, as though chosen with great care to be both proper and unmistakably her own. Eliana looked over the outfit with amazement, she typically just wore causal clothes, didn't think it was worth spending money on more expensive ones. But obviously Sabrina intended for her to be seen beside her somewhat often if this was her official wear.
Sabrina then left the room, leaving Eliana to her own devices. She walked over to the window and looked out at the city lights, a sea of tiny, glowing pinpricks in the darkness. She wondered what these other students would be like. Would they be like her, drawn to the raw power of psychic energy? Or would they be like the failures, terrified of what they could be?
She turned away from the window and looked at her Pokémon. Raichu was curled up on her pillow, snoring softly. The electric mouse had started claiming Kirlia's spot for some reason. She was much more clingy then when Eliana had first caught her. Staryu was beside her, still by the window, its core pulsing with a gentle, rhythmic light. Even though she was probably the least close with the star Pokémon, Eliana still cared for it. After all, even though it didn't show it, Staryu was the most protective of the group. It was always watching over them due to the fact it didn't need to sleep.
And Kirlia was sitting on the end of her bed, his legs crossed, his eyes closed in deep concentration. He was meditating, the practice that had introduced to him when their little group had first come to the gym. Eliana was proud of him, he had come a long way from when she was first given him. From shy, frightened Ralts she had met in the forest to the spoiled prince to a young Kirlia who loved to fight. He had shown the most growth of all of them so far.
She walked over to the bed and sat down next to him, her mind still racing with thoughts of the upcoming meeting. Eliana was confident she could defeat anyone but Sabrina in a battle of minds. And her Pokémon were strong enough to hand physical battles so they'd be fine. Eliana was excited, she wasn't used to group learning unless it was with her Pokémon. But soon, here in Sabrina's gym, she would be just another student, albeit a special one.
