Noelle was every bit as clueless about the witch's real plans as anyone else, and for the first time she wished with everything left in her that she had kept her mouth shut from the start.
The threat of losing another piece of her body made staying silent impossible. Terror sat heavy in her chest, thicker than the cold, and the only path she could see was to keep talking no matter how much the words burned her throat.
