Chapter 230 - Chapter 230: The Target—Weather Rocks

"This is a specially made Max Repel. When traveling in the wild, just spray a little on your body and you'll be safe. It's very effective and lasts all day. One bottle can be used 20 times."

The staff pointed at the golden spray and introduced it enthusiastically.

Sam nodded, but had no intention of exchanging for it.

Max Repel was useful for ordinary Trainers, but for someone at his level, it was almost meaningless. As long as he released his Pokémon, wild Pokémon wouldn't dare approach him anyway.

The next display case contained various souvenirs—items crafted from Pearl, Stardust, and Star Piece. They were beautiful, but had little practical use beyond decoration.

After browsing for a while, Sam felt slightly disappointed.

The items here weren't bad—but none of them were useful to him.

"Take me further inside," Sam said calmly.

The staff hesitated.

After all, Sam only had 24 points—far from enough for the more valuable rewards deeper inside.

"I just want to take a look," Sam added with a faint smile.

After thinking it over, the staff nodded. "Alright, please follow me."

---

Once inside the intermediate area, the quality of the rewards increased sharply.

Evolution stones filled the display shelves—Fire Stone, Thunder Stone, Water Stone… even rarer ones like Shiny Stone and Dusk Stone were present.

And not just any stones—these were top-quality specimens, superior in purity and energy.

If Sam needed them, he would've definitely stayed to grind points here.

But unfortunately, none of his current Pokémon required evolution stones.

So he moved on.

---

Soon, Sam stopped.

In front of him was a special display section dedicated to rare rocks.

Inside the glass case were four distinct stones, each labeled clearly:

Icy Rock — Enhances Hail

Smooth Rock — Enhances Sandstorm

Damp Rock (called Tidal Rock here) — Enhances Rain

Heat Rock — Enhances Sunny

The moment Sam saw them, his eyes sharpened.

These… were exactly what he needed.

Icy Rock would help Lapras master Hail more efficiently.

Smooth Rock could strengthen Tyranitar's sandstorm control—even a slight boost would be huge.

Damp Rock and Heat Rock would directly benefit Dragonair and Charizard.

These weren't luxury items.

They were power multipliers.

Sam didn't even need to think.

He wanted them.

But after a quick mental calculation, he frowned slightly.

"Even if I complete 35 consecutive wins in the beginner area… it's still not enough for even one of these."

These items were clearly meant for high-tier Trainers.

---

Sam didn't bother looking further.

Nothing beyond this point mattered more than these four rocks.

After thanking the staff, he turned and left the reward hall.

---

Now, he had a goal.

And that changed everything.

Originally, Sam planned to rest and continue the next day.

Now?

That plan was gone.

He went straight to the Pokémon Center, let Charizard recover—

Then immediately signed up for the next round.

---

"Match begins in 30 minutes."

Sam glanced at the monitor, a faint smile forming on his lips.

Good.

He was just getting started.

---

"Sam wins! Please proceed to Arena 12 in Area C for your next match!"

The referee couldn't help but take a deep breath as he announced the result.

In all his years at the Battle Tower—

This was the first time he'd seen someone like Sam.

Most challengers would rest thoroughly after one full round.

But Sam?

He rested for just two hours—

Then went straight back in.

And the most terrifying part?

After so many consecutive battles…

Charizard still looked excited.

Not tired.

Not worn out.

Excited.

---

"He's already at 13 consecutive wins…"

"It's only his first day, right? That's insane…"

"The beginner area can't stop him. He's definitely heading for the advanced zone."

The crowd buzzed with discussion.

More and more Trainers gathered.

Some watched in awe.

Others… watched with calculation.

---

"Hey, Baize, why don't you go challenge him?"

A man spoke lazily, leaning against the wall.

Baize, a well-known veteran of the beginner area, smirked.

"Why would I? He's only at 13 wins. Not worth much yet."

He glanced at the arena like a hunter observing prey.

"Better to wait."

"Let him grow."

"Big fish are worth more when they're fat."

---

"Hmph."

Hino, standing nearby, shot him a cold look.

"If you go up there, you'd better be serious."

Baize raised an eyebrow. "Oh? That's not like you."

Hino's expression didn't change.

"That guy… is different."

"He's strong. Extremely strong."

"Honestly? He gives me more pressure than most Trainers in the advanced area."

---

Baize's smile slowly faded.

"You're joking… right?"

Hino shook his head.

"I don't joke."

Then he turned and walked away.

"I'm not fighting him."

"My instincts are clear—"

"I'd just become his stepping stone."

---

Baize stood there silently, eyes fixed on Sam in the arena.

For the first time—

He wasn't smiling anymore.
