Chapter 61 - Episode1‐8 Part 2

Thinking the darkness had begun crawling upward again, Messiah broke into another cold sweat.

Beneath his feet stretched a carpet of slick flesh-like skin, veins bulging everywhere, making the ground resemble the inside of a living body.

As far as he could see, the road was covered in it.

Not only that, but the grotesque flesh spread throughout all of space itself like roots crawling across unseen walls.

Shock and terror raced through Messiah's entire body.

Yet the theater of horror was not finished with him.

As the flesh consumed space itself, countless glowing objects began appearing upon the fleshy walls and ground—so many that they threatened to cover every surface completely.

The moment he realized what they were, his face stiffened.

Eyes.

Just like the floating eyeball before him, countless eyes opened their lids and stared directly at Messiah all at once.

Overcome by terror, Messiah fled.

But when he glanced behind him, he saw only more endless roads of entrails stretching into the unknown. He realized there was nowhere left to escape.

Then Messiah noticed something strange within this hellish world.

A blue moon shining in the dark heavens like a gigantic eye.

It illuminated the decaying world below.

Suddenly, Messiah felt something touch his back. He turned around instantly toward the direction he had previously been facing.

The grotesque floating eyeball had vanished.

In its place, a red moon now shone in the sky.

Blue and red moons appeared simultaneously within this world, illuminating him from above.

Messiah then realized his body had become unnaturally hot.

When he lowered his gaze from the heavens back toward the world, he saw that flames surrounded him.

There should have been no source of fire whatsoever.

Yet spontaneous combustion erupted without warning, engulfing the world once more, as though the flesh-covered realm itself desired annihilation.

Then suddenly, the flames began spiraling violently, forming a tunnel before him.

The fire completely covered space itself. The fleshy walls, the countless eyes, the blue moon, and the red moon all vanished from sight.

In their place, far beyond the tunnel, he witnessed a dazzling light.

Its colors shifted constantly. "Rainbow-colored" was perhaps the closest possible description.

The light shone several kilometers away before him. Naturally, even with his vision, it appeared blurred. Yet the colors themselves remained vivid and unmistakable.

However, the moment he blinked once, the light source suddenly appeared directly before him, mere inches from his face.

It had the shape of a human.

"Allow me to offer my greetings."

The light spoke with a voice and tone reminiscent of Ort.

"One day, we shall meet in a place beyond time, space, and dimensions. I am True. A messenger of the Origin."

Having said only that, the humanoid light vanished.

As though it had appeared solely to greet him.
