" Big brother Itachi, why are we beginning our New Year here instead of Mizumori ? ( Their New Residence ) "
Sasuke who was sitting on top of Minato's nose said to Itachi who was looking at the moon peacefully.
" Father wanted to end his year here. We will celebrate New Year and a new beginning in Mizumori tommorow. " Itachi replied calmy.
" Sasuke, Naruto, do you want to hear a story ? "
" Yes, Uncle Fugaku " Naruto immediately replied. Fugaku is usually taciturn and hearing a story from him is first for Naruto.
" Okay " Sasuke also replied.
" Then let me tell you the story that was burried for years.
Eight years ago on 10th of October, the child of Fourth Hokage Namikaze Minato and the Uzumaki princess, Uzumaki Kushina was born. But, unfortunately that day became the nightmare for that child.
Few minutes after the birth of that child, an intruder killed all the guards and ANBU protecting the site and released the strongest Tailed Beast — Nine Tails, free from the bounds of its Jinchūriki Kushina.
You might be familiar with Tailed Beasts by now, they are the creation of Sage of Six Paths after dividing Ten-tails. A Jinchūriki is the carrier of a Tailed Beast, using its power for itself making them a strategic resource for any village.
Though, they carry many risks before they can control a Tailed beast completely and safely. The release of a Tailed Beast is one of it, if a Tailed Beast is separated from their Jinchūriki, the Jinchūriki immediately dies.
Kushina faced a similar situation but, because of the vitality of the Uzumaki Clan she could survive for few minutes more than others.
Minato after keeping the child in a safe place fought the intruder until he escaped and then immediately fought the Nine-tails but ultimately Minato is a assasin type Ninja who is inherently weak against huge Chakra Beasts like Nine-tails.
Seeing the destruction caused by Nine-tails, Minato made a difficult choice. He used Dead Consuming Seal, a Forbidden Jutsu of the Uzumaki Clan which trades the power of Soul Reaper in return for his own soul.
With the power of Soul Reaper he sealed half of Nine-tails inside his dying body and then the other half Yang-Nine-Tails inside his new born child.
Until now I still don't understand Minato's choice. Was he selfish for the village or for his child ?
For the village because, for his decision his child will face decades of loneliness, depression, discrimination and the darkness of the Strongest Village ultimately trained as a weapon for the village.
For the child because, he gave him the most precious thing in the entire world without asking anyone. For which nations will fight to death, bleeding rivers of blood.
I don't know whether he was just too much careless or he just trusted the child too much. Careless because he sealed Half Nine-tails inside a child which would have caused the death of the child 99 out of 100 chances or he just trusted the child enough that he would survive.
Naruto, what do you think ? Was his choice right or wrong ? "
" I.....I don't know.....
Uncle Fugaku....is that child me ? " Naruto asked with trembling voice.
" Naruto, I wanted you to know the truth before leaving the village your father and mother died to protect. You deserve to know the truth, Sarutobi Hiruzen and others tried to hide. "
One Minute Of Silence
" What happens if I die because of it ? "
" Maybe, he trusted you too much.... " Naruto hearing the answer couldn't forgive Minato, with tears falling like raindrops.
" Did my mother love me ? Did she blame me for her death ? "
" She loved you very much Naruto and died while protecting you from Kurama. Her only regret was not seeing you grow up, leaving you to face this cruel world alone." Itachi spoke after a few moments of silence.
Few Minutes Later
" MOTHERRR, I AM NOT ALONEEE !!!! I HAVE BIG BROTHER ITACHI, SASUKE, NATSUKI, BIG BROTHER SHISUI, OBITO, UNCLE FUGAKU, AUNT MIKO..... "
Itachi seeing Naruto shout with all his might smiled slightly.
" Naruto, your mother Kushina was Mikoto's best friend and in the past few years she requested to adopt you many times. I had requested many times to Sarutobi Hiruzen but he didn't agree on the terms that Uchiha clan can't be trusted by the village to let you grow safely.
Maybe if I was a bit more decisive you might not have to suffer so much.
In the past year Itachi, Shisui and other have changed the clan so much, lifting it from the quagmire of Konoha and now it's independent of Konoha and it's trouble.
Itachi, the new Uchiha clan needs a new leader who can make proper decisions quickly not like me who couldn't make a choice between the village and clan until the end always stalling for time. Although you might be the Youngest Clan Leader of the Uchiha clan but I believe you will make The Uchiha reach greater heights than anyone else.
" Father, Shisui might also become a good clan leader. "
" No, Itachi I am just like Uncle Fugaku. We are suitable for leading the clan in times of peace and the leader Uchiha clan currently needs is you." Shisui hearing Itachi's suggestion flatly refused.
" Then, I will gladly take your position, Father. "
