Unfortunately, Kurama was now controlled by Itachi. The Nara clan Justu, which was able to hold complete Nine-tails for few seconds before was immediately broken free within three seconds. The Yamanaka clan ninjas suffered backlash the moment they entered Kurama's mind space.
The Akimichi clan brutes had no time to think and they were bound by the Nine Tails of Kurama.

The next moment all the tails were ignited into fire, burning the Akimichi clan members into burnt char within seconds.

Although it hasn't even been a minute since Itachi controlled Nine-tails, but with his mastery in chakra natures, specially Fire Style he could form a new Ninjutsu suitable for Nine-tails within seconds.
As for why, Naruto, even after decades couldn't form a Nine-tails style series, it's mainly because it's useless. For enemies below Super Kage level, brute force is more than enough and for above them, Ninjutsu of this level is useless.
Itachi didn't gave Shikaku and Inochi enough time to grieve and the Nine Tails burning in hellfire sweeped towards them and the nearby hundreds of meters.

Hiruzen followed the direction of hand and saw that the Tailed Beasts Bomb at some point of time had divided into tens of smaller Tailed Beasts Bomb and were already falling all over Konoha.

The next moment, the adamantine staff expanded once again and multiplied using Clone jutsu covering all over the sky of Konoha intercepting all the small TBB.

Kurama seeing this once again opened his mouth and spitted out a column of fire dozens of meters wide and tall rushing towards Konoha.

Having just blocked Kurama's attack, Might Guy didn't slack off and rushed towards Kurama punching repeatedly in mid air throwing thousands of fireball at him.
Then....then, nothing happened. The current Guy, doesn't have the power to fight a Kage level, let alone borderline Super-Kage level at mere sixth Gate.
All the fireballs, scorched Kurama's fur a bit and after a slight pain it healed within seconds. Guy's current strength is at most an elite Jonin which is nothing for Kurama.
" Ahhhhhh, Seventh Gate, Gate of Shock, OPENNN !!! " Guy, seeing his strength not enough immediately opened the Seventh Gate with fury. Although he hasn't mastered it for long and opening it might end his Ninja carrier, but he is willing to burn himself for YOUTHHH !!!!

Seeing Might Guy stalling Kurama, other ninjas also rushed forward to help him. Hiruzen, seeing this also followed with hesitation.
If previously, seeing the inevitable destruction of Konoha, Hiruzen was willing to die then now seeing a chance of living, he became hesitant.

If Might Guy uses Death Gate and fights Kurama until it's weakened, he can seal it in another person other than Naruto, on someone he can trust.
He can't die without taking care of the Uchiha problem and without him, Asuma might not become Hokage. The entire village has now seen his strength and having been saved by him, they would definitely give him some face for Asuma.

Just then the sound of explosion rang out as Might Guy used Daytime Tiger against Kurama who was pushed back hundreds of meters. Seeing this Hiruzen hardened his resolve.

The next moment the blue chakra energy around Guy converted into red boiling energy. All the ninjas felt their body sink by the pressure radiated by Guy. Hiruzen signalled the ANBU to be ready to seal Kurama.

Kurama also felt the threat from Guy and roared in anger. The next moment, fire tens of meters wide coated the body of Nine-tails, with lava forming below him.

Just when Nine-tails had moved a step, Guy disappeared from his spot and appeared hundred meters away and kicked an air pressure cannon at Nine-tails with blinding speed. The moment it hit Nine-tails, it bound Nine-tails at that place with the fire armour dispersing like meeting a fire extinguisher placing a heavy burden on him.
In the next few seconds, Guy bound Kurama under six more Evening Elephants. By now most of the bones inside were cracking and breaking with muscles getting torn and the blood depleted.
" Haah, haah, this is my final attack.
Might Guy with his now ferocious face crouched down in a running position with the red energy around him multiplying and tacking the shape of a red dragon. The next moment, Might Guy took a run towards the trapped Kurama, kicking towards the head of it.

Kurama, seeing this roared in anger and the Mangekyo Sharingan in its eyes started to rotate with a black chakra armour starting to cover his face.
