The next moment, an immense suction force came from the sphere as it absorbed Itachi's immense Chakra as well as the natural energy and other mysterious energies around him.
Within moments, the original clear sky above konoha changed as black clouds covered the moon and complete darkness surrounded the ruins of Konoha.

" You know that's not the same. Tobirama only summoned the soul from Pure Land for a short period of time and it didn't affect the Cycle of Life and Death. You are devouring the souls of the deseased instead of letting it return to Pure Land, only to create a weapon ? "
Hearing the admonishment from the Sage of Six Paths, Itachi looked away in slight embarassment.
Well, originally he hadn't decided to cause such destruction over Konoha and leave after Nine-tails has caused some damage but, he noticed that after the destruction caused by Kurama ( controlled by him ) , his Divinity Influence had increased.
Under the increased Divinity Influence, he felt less and less empathy towards others ( people of Konoha ). Additionally, with the awakening of Complete Domain Expansion, he could sense a pure energy much more than anything he had seen in the past few minutes.
After a few experimentations he realised that this energy is different than other normal chakra or elemental energies. After conversion or usage the new object doesn't dissipate with the loss of supply of energy and this energy is superior to his own Chakra as well.
He then tried to make a sword with it and it's Sharpness and quality is many times with the same amount of other energy and if applied on an already made weapon, it amplifies its features.
After another minute of research he found that what he was using was a soul which was constantly disappearing and entering another dimension full of souls, known famously as Pure Land.
Seeing this Itachi remembered his favourite anime character, Rimuru Tempest from Tensura who used souls as EXP and then thought whether to try to use it to strength himself like Rimuru but, ultimately he couldn't. First, even with increased Divinity Influence, he still felt disgust using such methods to gain strength. Second, he wouldn't gain much with his already peak level strength and last he had other ways.
So, he thought of making a weapon for himself like Totsuka Blade and other weapons as in the Ninja World, there isn't such a weapon that he could use against Six-paths Level enemy.
With such a weapon he could better deal with the threat of Isshiki and Otsusuki that were looming over his head for the past six months. And well, he felt like he was playing a game, so he got carried away using his power to his fullest.
In his previous life there was a game which simulated earth. You could throw nuclear bombs, planets, stars and black holes at earth. It would show the still living population and the destruction of the world. To him, the current situation is just like that.

Years before the arrival of my mother, Kaguya Otsutsuki, supernatural powers still existed. People used magic and natural energy as their base instead of chakra.
You might already know about natural energy, so let's skip it. Let's talk about magical energy, or in simpler terms, extreme Yin energy, also known as soul energy. Although soul energy is a very pure form of energy, just like natural energy, it is poisonous to 99.9% of the creatures in this world.
However, the less than 0.1% who survive become many times stronger than Sage Chakra users. Before the formation of the Pure Land, after a creature died, its soul would wander through the living world until it naturally dissipated into soul energy.
If any creature came into contact with it, they usually could not withstand that corruptive power and would die, mixing their own soul with that energy. If no one took control of or purified that energy for too long, it would give birth to consciousness.
Those consciousnesses were usually called gods by the people of that era, and they ruled over the world. One example is the Evil God worshipped by Hidan, whom you captured.
Eventually, they became dissatisfied with living alongside mortals, so they waged war against the remaining magical power users who had survived the corruption, as well as the Natural Holy Lands.
After exterminating all other supernatural power users, they used the immense soul power left behind by the deaths of so many powerful individuals to create a separate dimension for themselves. That dimension was called the Pure Land, a land where mortals desired to live, a land free from those filthy mortals.
When Mother arrived in this world, she planted the Sacred Tree there first, and only after it absorbed all those gods did she plant it on our planet. Because of this, even after the Sacred Tree absorbed enough energy to turn a planet into a wasteland, the Ninja World remained survivable.
After my brother and I sealed Kaguya, I ruled over the Pure Land. To prevent the curse known as magical power from appearing among ordinary people again, I used the Pure Land to attract their souls here, where they dissipate over time. In the Pure Land, I prevent the formation of consciousness, so it remains nothing more than pure power, which I can use in times of emergency."
