Chapter 223 - Chapter 22: The Grand Show Begins

The space inside the tent was clearly much larger than what was seen from the outside.

"Undetectable Extension Charm." Bastet whispered softly in Mori Tsukisa's ear. "You can tell its purpose from the name, right?"

"Is it very practical?"

The black cat looked up at the girl, surprised that she hadn't asked a question like 'Can it extend infinitely?' You should know, when it went to find that thing, it had heard countless little wizards asking such stupid questions.

"How could that be possible?" Mori Tsukisa raised an eyebrow. "If space could be extended infinitely, the so-called Wizarding World could just nest the World into boxes layer by layer."

"Based on your statement just now, I don't believe they have that kind of capability."

During their conversation, the crowd gradually became denser. Mori Tsukisa felt as if she were standing in a mid-height thicket of suits, and the strong scent of cologne was pungent and overwhelming.

The girl dissatisfiedly put the black cat back on her shoulder and used her hand to cover her mouth and nose.

"Indeed, they don't have the capability you mentioned." An unfamiliar male voice was not far from Mori Tsukisa. "Only a few magical items can achieve this, but magical items that can form a space are truly rare."

The girl turned around—just like everyone else, the middle-aged man wore a round hat, a long gray trench coat, a beard, leather gloves, and his hair was combed back neatly. He wore a pair of mid-length brown leather boots. After he suddenly spoke, a faint scent of peppermint dispelled the pungent odor.

The boots were actually quite nice-looking.

"Deerskin." The man winked at Mori Tsukisa. "I can tell you the shop's location; the women's style looks even better."

Although Bastet immediately shut its mouth, the sight of the girl and the cat whispering together just now must have been caught by the man.

"Your pet is very interesting."

"I am not a pet!" The black cat fiercely bared its sharp teeth. "Have you ever seen such an elegant cat?"

"Of course, I have a student who specializes in these things. I've even seen moving plants and leopards with venom sacs from him."

The man tirelessly teased Bastet, pulling out a small wooden stick from somewhere and waving it twice. From the tip, several clusters of fluffy little pom-poms like dandelions grew with a rustle.

"Do you like them?"

Bastet forced itself not to look at the little pom-poms, covering its eyes with its two small paws.

Mori Tsukisa, on the other hand, tilted her head with interest. In her vision, a purple curtain slowly floated.

[Name: Unknown]

[Class: Wizard]

[Race: Human (Half-blood)]

[A powerful wizard.]

[Though confined within narrow limits, he still possesses a bright and fiery soul.]

[He possesses skilled spellcasting techniques—combined with a clever mind and keen judgment, this allows him to have the upper hand in most battles.]

[But even so, this wizard is still Worlds apart from those spellcasters who sit high upon thrones.]

[A one-hundred-percent sweets lover.]

[Has a special commonality with the Planeswalker named 'Mori Tsukisa'.]

[Energy Level: You can take on five of him.]

Ever since being 'forcibly possessed' by her other mother, this Profiler had become more and more strange. Aside from being 'cringe', this time it didn't even try to hide it... but it was quite clear. Let's use this rating system from now on.

As for... a special commonality?

Mori Tsukisa turned her head. The man was still teasing Bastet with a gentle expression... his wand would bloom flowers one moment and pop out a few pieces of fragrant dried fish the next... making Bastet extremely excited.

So what is the commonality... Ding-dong, ding-dong, ding-dong—

The copper bell shook, and the iron cage trembled violently. A fat, bearded man scrambled out of the crowd, holding a short, thick wand—Mori Tsukisa remembered him; this man had appeared on the flag blown by the small horn.

Swaying, he pushed through the crowd, lifted his chin to survey the surroundings, nodded with satisfaction, raised his hand, and pointed the tip of his wand at his neck: "Sonorus!"

"Latin again." Mori Tsukisa rolled her eyes. The man behind her, suppressing a strong laugh, stood beside the girl.

"Words have magic." The man looked at Mori Tsukisa as if reminiscing. A faint light shimmered in his deep blue eyes. Although subtle, Mori Tsukisa could still feel that this emotion was not one shared between a man and a woman.

It was more like the affection between parents and siblings.

"You resemble someone... I mean, in personality." The middle-aged man politely withdrew his gaze, letting it linger on Mori Tsukisa's face for a moment before quickly moving it away.

"Oh, human, you truly have vision," the black cat changed positions, jumping to the other side of the girl's shoulder to facilitate whispering with the man, "Few people possess a personality like hers."

"I hope your relative wasn't a lunatic."

As soon as the words fell, the man's mouth drooped, and a flash of pain crossed his expression.

"Aha! Truly a lunatic? Hahaha, Mori Tsukisa, you and a lunatic—"

"She has passed away."

Bastet:... Mori Tsukisa frowned, lightly tapped the cat's head, and bent slightly sideways to apologize to the man.

"I'm very sorry, sir." The girl covered the cat's mouth. "My cat doesn't quite understand human emotions. I apologize to you."

Bastet whined and turned her head to stare at the girl. The girl and the cat exchanged a brief glance.

Bastet: So you understand his emotions?

Mori Tsukisa: I don't understand either, but I have manners.

Bastet: All you have left are manners and two spheres.

Mori Tsukisa: That's still better than you, short-tailed horse-faced freak.

"Dumbledore."

"Excuse me, what did you say?"

"I said, call me Dumbledore." The man named Dumbledore became even gentler. He seemed delighted to see Mori Tsukisa and her pet bickering. The girl's puffed cheeks and wide eyes made him feel nostalgic for his home... "Mori Tsukisa." Pouting, the girl pointed at the cat again: "Horse-faced freak."

Pfft.

Dumbledore also laughed. He took off his leather gloves and stroked the cat's head with a dry palm, but his eyes remained fixed on Mori Tsukisa.

"Are you a young wizard? I haven't seen you before."

"We are not such low-level creatures!" Just as Bastet managed to interject, Mori Tsukisa grabbed her by the scruff of the neck, pulled her down, and stuffed her tightly into her arms. She slightly suspected this god inherently possessed sarcasm.

As the Goddess of War... it made sense that she inherently possessed sarcasm.

After only a few exchanges, the man who had activated'Sonorus' interrupted all the noise present.

His voice, like a loudspeaker, traveled around the tent and into everyone's ears.

"Welcome to Skender's Monster Show!"

"Aha! There are Children present, so be careful! Today we have unique exhibits!"

"To start, let's welcome the Baby Fire Dragon Flock!!"

The shouts erupted!

Mori Tsukisa grabbed Bastet's tail and yanked hard!

"A Dragon! It's a Dragon!"

The black cat's shriek was drowned out by the shouts of the surrounding crowd...
