The main gate of the guesthouse is now guarded by the Royal Guard of the Holy Kingdom.
They wore enchanted armor and held enchanted spears, vigilantly watching for passersby and vehicles.
The carriage soon stopped at the entrance of the guesthouse. The guards there recognized the Castordio family crest and did not react excessively to its approach.
"We've arrived, Your Excellency Kurt."
Quirat glanced at the guards at the entrance of the guesthouse, opened the carriage door with a smile, and stepped down first, speaking to Lock, who was sitting inside.
Lock then followed her out of the car and looked at the guesthouse in front of him.
Unlike the VIP hotels of the Kingdom, the architecture of the Holy Kingdom places greater emphasis on defensive features. The walls of the guesthouse appear thicker and are less or no longer decorated.
The three walked toward the guesthouse, but were stopped by the guards at the entrance.
"Lord Castordio, please hand over your weapons. We will return them intact after you leave."
The man, who appeared to be the captain of the guard, looked at Quirat and spoke in a businesslike manner, but his eyes involuntarily glanced at Lock.
"I'm truly sorry, but this is the custom when meeting Your Majesty Calca." Quirat said apologetically to Lock, "Lord Kurt, would you please lay down your weapon?"
"Very well." Lock took the sword from his waist and handed it to the captain of the guard.
very good!
Quirat nodded to himself. Without weapons, even his strength would be diminished, thus reducing his threat.
The elder sister's sword was a national treasure of the Holy Kingdom, and given her status, the guards had no right to demand that she remove her weapon, which helped to bridge the gap between the two.
Quirat carefully observed his expression and found that he didn't seem to mind, which made her happy.
If a peaceful meeting can be held without any unforeseen circumstances, that would be ideal.
After confiscating Lock's weapons, the three followed the guards into the guesthouse.
After passing through the central hall of the guesthouse, the group went directly to the second floor and arrived at the inner palace, where foreign guests were received.
Knock knock knock!
The guard knocked softly on the door and announced to the person inside, " Your Majesty Calca, Lord Castordio requests an audience with distinguished guests!"
"Come in."
A melodious and clear voice came from inside the palace. The guards then pushed open the door and invited the three of them in.
The moment Lock opened the door, he saw the Holy Queen with long blonde hair and a crown, sitting on the throne in the palace.
" Your Majesty Calca!" Quirat and Remedios immediately stepped forward and bowed to the Holy Queen before them, saying in unison.
Calca smiled like an angel, gently placing her hand on the two of them and saying, "You two, there's no need for such formalities."
"Thank you, Your Majesty!"
The two acknowledged Calca's gesture, then stood up and walked to the throne, standing on either side as guards.
"This must be Lord Kurt?" Holy Queen asked, her gaze falling on Lock.
"It is I." Lock bowed to the Holy Queen with his hand on his chest, then said with a light laugh, " It is my honor to have an audience with Your Majesty Calca. You are as beautiful as the rumors say, a true treasure of the Holy Kingdom."
"Hehe," Calca chuckled, covering her mouth, feeling that the man in front of her was somewhat different from the arrogant and aloof man she had imagined. "You flatter me, Your Excellency Kurt."
"Although Great Wall Stronghold was still captured by the Demi-human Army, I am aware of your help to our country in this time of crisis, and please accept my sincere gratitude."
"You're too kind," Lock said with a smile. "It was nothing at all."
"For you, it may be a small favor, but my Holy Kingdom soldiers and my most capable assistant,t Remedi, os survived because of it. As the ruler of the Holy Kingdom, I cannot ignore this kindness and accept it without a clear conscience." Calca smiled and said in a solemn tone, "How about t? If there is anything you want, you can tell me, and I will try my best to fulfill one of your requests as a token of my gratitude."
After receiving a detailed report about the fall of Great Wall Stronghold, Calca felt anxious and fearful about the Demi-Human Alliance's attack, and became even more interested in Lock.
Calca was very impressed by the other side's actions in rescuing the Holy Kingdom's garrison and helping Remedios rescue the Holy Kingdom's villagers.
Surely such a person couldn't be some heinous villain? This was Holy Queen's thought, a sentiment perhaps bordering on excessive kindness; she never liked to assume malice in others.
In that case, trying to establish a friendly relationship with the other party would be entirely beneficial to the Holy Kingdom.
"Regarding the gift of thanks, I would like to reserve a little something." Lock looked up at the Holy Queen sitting on the throne and said, "I have come to meet you on behalf of the Sanctuary, Your Majesty Calca."
"…Alright, let's finish our business first before discussing the gift." Calca paused slightly, and seeing that Lock was getting straight to the point, the smile on her face began to fade. The important meeting was about to begin. "So, regarding the Sanctuary, what exactly is this organization? Could you please tell me in detail? As far as I know, it's not the name of any country."
Lock nodded and said, "Yes, Your Majesty Calca. The Holy Land is not a country, but a sacred place that leads humanity toward a bright future. I have come here this time hoping to select enough talented people from the Holy Kingdom to enter the Holy Land for training. Your Majesty Calca, this will not do the Holy Kingdom any harm. If they can meet the standards and then return to the Holy Kingdom, then the Demi-human Tribes of Abelion Hills will no longer be a problem for the Holy Kingdom, and this will not take long."
Upon hearing Lock's request, Calca immediately shook his head, saying, "I'm sorry, Your Excellency Kurt, I cannot accept your request at this time. Our Holy Kingdom is currently under attack from the Demi-human Army, and every single one of us is a valuable fighting force in resisting the invaders. I cannot allow them to leave at this moment."
Lock was not surprised by this and confidently said, " Your Majesty Calca, perhaps I can help you with this matter."
"Um?"
Calca was immediately drawn to the attack. This offensive by the Demi-human Army was an unknown disaster for the Holy Kingdom. Even if they could repel them, the Holy Kingdom might have to pay a considerable price. It would be best if they could get help.
"Your Excellency Kurt, what are your thoughts?"
" Your Majesty Calca, what do you think of my current strength?" Lock didn't state his opinion directly, but instead asked Calca a question.
Calca hesitated for a moment before saying, "You are very strong. I'm afraid no one in the Holy Kingdom could defeat you in a one-on-one fight."
"If I told you that there are tens of thousands of people with my strength in the Holy Land, would you believe me?"
"What!?"
