They made haste, loading their finds into a rectangular vessel and then dragging it into the cable car, before they got in and then hurried away.
The ride back to the tower made Merva anxious, wondering just how much time they had wasted, and what they missed.
She kept her face glued to the glass, wishing for the tower to appear quickly.
Merva jumped down as soon as the cable car stopped and it unlocked, dragging out the rectangular vessel they had put everything in with the help of Minerva.
They air around the towers was charged, the sky dark grey as though rain was going to fall.
It felt like a nightmare for Merva, her heart wishing that the rain would make an appearance and that it would not be them being late, but she knew it would not, whatever was happening inside the towers was the reason for the atmosphere.
They struggled up the stair with their heavy luggage, dragging it up the stairs to their place in the tower as their footsteps echoed loudly off the walls.
They found their place, dragging their luggage in, as sweat clung to their body.
"I don't like this." Merva started. "I don't like being anxious and afraid." She finished saying, the sweat on her forehead shining as she looked at her shaking hands, and held them both trying to stop it.
The dust on the floor had cleared up, the middle of the room revealing a middle part of the floor that was covered in iron that was circle in shape.
Merva and Minerva went closer, Merva looking at the markings on the iron that pulsed.
'The altar..." Merva stopped, looking at Minerva. "I don't understand the rest, but I think we are supposed to place everything here." Looking at their large amount of different precious stones and such.
They started picking them and arranging them on the iron surface. Trying as fast as they could to do it quickly.
"This is the last one. Merva this is the last one." Minerva told Merva, stopping her from turning back.
The markings shone, the metal opening up a hole for all the stones to fall in and the undead core globe entered quickly before the hole sealed up.
Merva watched in shock, wondering why they would get it there. "They... They just." She stammered, looking at Minerva.
"It is fine." Minerva assured her, watching the metal nonchalantly.
A virtual screen appeared, bathing them in pale white light. The interface hovered mid air awaiting their input.
Merva pressed the login option, and filled in her details, waiting for it to load.
"DESIGN MODE ACTIVATED. YOU HAVE TWENTY MINUTES REMAINING." A soft robotic voice announced.
Merva looked as white as a sheet of paper, her face perspiring profusely. "What are we going to do? How can you complete it on time?"
Minerva looked unaffected by Merva's worry. "What weapon do you want me to create for you?" She asked casually.
"A bow right?' She asked when Merva did not answer, and Merva nodded.
Minerva entered into Merva, and picked up the light pen that hovered in the air.
Minerva started sketching two different weapons at the same time, enlarging the screen to accommodate it, her fingers moving quickly across the screen.
'What are you doing, it looks...' Minerva shut her out so that she could concentrate, her brows bunching up.
She smiled as she finished up the rough sketch, willing her eyes to not check out the timer even when she felt her eye twitch.
They had wasted so much time in getting more than enough materials, but it was necessary for what she wanted to create.
She began the detailing.
On one side, she worked on a two headed spear that she designed to be able to part in two and be reassembled into a deadly spirit firing gun.
She pushed the spear design to the side, and widened the bow, sketching a prototype of the arrow head beside it. The head of the arrow will make use of sharpened crystals infused with shadow power, but she was going to personally do the infusion herself.
She designed the both ends of the bow to be sharp so that they could act as a one edged sword in dire situations.
The timer was counting down, the beep beep sound of each last seconds unnerving her.
She tried to concentrate, but the sound kept distracting her.
Minerva frustratedly parted from Merva without knowing, her abyssal darkness spreading into the system.
The timer paused, the system freezing for a moment.
'Minerva what have you done?' She heard Merva say just before they joined back.
'What did I do?' She asked in confusion, looking at the timer that now had thirty minutes left. She knew it was wrong, but she grinned nonetheless.
Now everyone had more time.
'It's good to mess with the system once in a while.' She told Merva smugly, and then shut her out again.
Dogan was almost done separating from the realm, of that she was sure of now. There was no way that she would have done something so risky without being apprehended immediately.
She took her time to finish designing how she wanted the weapons to be, adding designs and marks that she wanted carved into them, before then increasing and decreasing the rate of the weight, balance, and sharpness of the edges and ends. She was designing them to their tastes.
She chose the materials each component should be made of, going through the different designs again to ensure that she made no mistakes, and to kill time.
The seconds began counting down again, but now she was ready.
The file submitted, the virtual screen disappearing briefly.
A hum filled the air, as the design was being made.
Minerva smiled satisfactorily. She was done.
The hole opened up, the weapons rising out of It along with the undead core orb.
She picked up the large spear, and the large lightweight bow, turning them around as she inspected them.
'This is it?' She whispered, wondering if this was a dream.
She swished the bow, wondering who would be the first to be hurt bet the edges. Her finger traced the edges. 'It is sharp enough.'
She placed only the bow back on the air holder, and picked up the prototype of the arrow head, inspecting it before she placed it back.
It was good enough.
She separated from Merva, and took the spear.
"You can handle the rest, right?" She asked.
Merva knew that she worried about the pain and power draining and if she could endure it, but she nodded assuredly. The hard part was done, all that was left to do now was to turn it into a part of her by infusing her core power into it through the system so that it could answer only to her.
Minerva did not want her weapon being infused with power by anything that was controlled by Dogan.
She watched the hole swallow the weapons up again, waiting patiently until when Merva placed her palms on the provided surface and the power infusion began, before she disappeared along with the globe.
She flew to the very tip of the tower, watching power from every tower connecting at the middle, and going up to the sky.
She glanced at her spear, wondering what to do, when an idea came to her mind.
The power going up to the sky was definitely heading to Dogan, or something of the sort, and no one had ever tested the energy.
She flew towards it, placing her spear inside of it. Minerva had no idea what she was doing.
'But life is an experiment.' She thought, going ahead with what she had in mind.
The spear did not blow up, and for that she was glad, but nothing special happened either.
She moves away from it, and landed on the floor besides their tower, there she pulled as much abyssal power as she could from inside of her, channeling it into the spear till it thrummed with it, and shadows poured out of it.
All that she had done was not enough, Minerva was certain of that, staring at it with dissatisfaction.
She took the spear and flew back to where Merva was.
Merva was exhausted, her body becoming slack but she held on.
Minerva dropped the spear, and entered into Merva. This was the reason it was called weapon manifestation, and she could not let Merva do all this only for the weapon to be rejected, and then destroyed.
The power infusion should not have been difficult for Minerva, but the system used Olymperian power, and she was more abyssal than Olymperian.
She let it take almost all her reserve, letting Merva rest even though she knew that she could not rely on her main power.
Minerva felt dizzy, her vision swimming in and out. She held on tightly, sighing softly when the whirring sound stopped and she released her hands.
POWER INFUSION SUCCESSFUL. WEAPON HAS BEEN POWERED.
The voice announced.
Minerva fell ass first to the floor, watching without seeing what the system kept bringing up and then loading.
WEAPON MANIFESTATION COMPLETE.
The voice announced after all was done loading. The bow emerged from the hole, but Minerva stared at it while she regained her strength.
Minerva stood up and walked to where her spear was on the floor. She infused the globe into it, and cut her palm, squeezing it till several drops of blood fell on it.
Minerva wanted to take it out of this place so that she could work on it, but she knew she had to camouflage it first.
SYSTEM IS SHUTTING DOWN. The voice announced, as the timer began counting down.
'Ten... Nine... Eight...'
Minerva took hold of the bow, and the spear, both of them vanishing before she was cast out of that place and was outside of the portal again.
