Chapter 78 - Golden Fate: Rock Plate!

The Second Totem-Level Existence — Tyrantrum!!**

As the system notifications kept ringing in his ears, Ethan couldn't help but feel a little dazed.

"Dad… are you sure all of these are apology resources from the Great Cold Alliance?"

"This is a bit much, isn't it? Do they really have this many high-grade treasures?"

In Ethan's impression, the Great Cold Alliance was rich but weak—famous for barking loudly and lacking real strength.

Sending over more than a dozen purple-tier fates as compensation completely shattered his expectations.

Hearing this, Victor Stone chuckled.

"You're underestimating them, Ethan."

"That place may be small and crowded, but their upper ranks are very good at hoarding wealth."

"This amount probably isn't even one percent of what they've siphoned off."

"This time, Old Zuo's attitude was extremely tough, and they knew they were in the wrong."

"Otherwise, with their stingy nature, you'd be lucky to get one or two treasures."

Ethan nodded in understanding.

Still—

This windfall was a huge boost for him.

"Dad," Ethan said suddenly,

"why don't you take these instead?"

"Isn't Charizard, Krookodile, and the others already stuck at their limits?"

"With these treasures, they might be able to break through!"

Ethan picked out what he truly didn't need and pushed the rest toward his father.

To Ethan, his own strength was already more than enough.

But Victor only had three Champion-level Pokémon.

Even if those three placed him among the top Champions worldwide, true disasters left little room for error.

If his father became stronger, Ethan could rest easier.

Victor froze.

He never imagined that one day, his son would be the one handing him resources.

Before Victor could refuse, Ethan didn't give him the chance.

With Metagross's psychic power, he released all of Victor's Pokémon at once.

Charizard.

Lapras.

Haxorus.

Scizor.

Farigiraf.

Pangoro.

Even Mabosstiff and Drapion, still recovering in the garden, were pulled over.

The entire backyard instantly filled with powerful presences.

The Pokémon stared blankly at Victor, utterly confused.

Ethan smiled lightly.

"Here. Take them."

He distributed the treasures one by one.

These weren't ordinary held items.

They were top-grade consumable secret treasures—the kind that directly enhanced potential and strength.

The Pokémon stared at the treasures in their hands, stunned.

Instinct told them—

If they ate these, their power would soar.

Still, they looked to their trainer.

Victor sighed, then laughed helplessly.

"If Ethan gave them to you… then take them."

"But remember—if he ever asks something of you, you'd better not refuse."

The Pokémon nodded in unison.

Next moment—

They all swallowed the treasures.

Victor's eyes widened.

Before he could react, terrifying surges of aura erupted across the yard.

Mabosstiff—

long stuck at the peak of King-tier—finally shattered the bottleneck and stepped into Champion rank, its old injuries healing instantly.

Haxorus, Victor's absolute trump card, surged from mid-Champion straight to late Champion, standing just one step away from Totem-level.

Even Charizard, the weakest among them, reached King-tier peak.

Out of Victor's eight core Pokémon—

Only Charizard hadn't reached Champion rank.

The rest?

All Champions.

Victor stood there, completely stunned.

"Ethan… what's going on?"

"Secret treasures… they can be eaten?"

Ethan fell silent.

He suddenly realized—

This was a problem.

To him, any fate item that passed through his hands automatically became consumable after fate amplification.

But normally, secret treasures were equipment, not food.

So Ethan tilted his head innocently.

"Dad… aren't secret treasures meant to be eaten?"

"Most of the ones I get, my Pokémon just eat."

Now it was Victor's turn to be speechless.

After a long pause, Victor rubbed his chin.

"So… that's it."

"You can make secret treasures edible."

This wasn't just a talent.

It was monstrous.

"Ethan," Victor said seriously,

"no one else knows about this, right?"

Ethan shook his head.

"I haven't told anyone."

Victor finally relaxed.

"Good. Never tell anyone."

He paused, then rummaged through his storage ball.

Soon, he took out a small black box.

"Then… what about this?"

He handed it to Ethan.

The instant Ethan touched it—

[Ding! Obtained: Purple Fate – Fragment of the Rock Plate]

[Fate Critical Hit…]

[Ding! 666× Multiplier]

[Ding! Upgraded to Golden Fate – Rock Plate]

Ethan froze.

"…Rock Plate?!"

His heart skipped a beat.

Back on Sirius Island, the Steel Plate had elevated Metagross straight into late Totem tier.

And now—

His father just casually had a Rock Plate fragment?!

"Dad!" Ethan exclaimed.

"You had something like this and never mentioned it?!"

Victor's eyes widened.

"You can use it?"

Ethan didn't answer.

Instead, he turned to Meloetta.

"Meloetta, call Tyrantrum."

Moments later, Tyrantrum lumbered over—looking a little guilty, clearly interrupted mid–kitchen raid.

Ethan tossed the Rock Plate to him.

"Eat it."

Tyrantrum felt the overwhelming rock energy instantly.

No hesitation.

He swallowed it whole.

Boom—

A thunderous roar echoed as his aura exploded.

Stone-like sounds thundered from within his body, as if colossal hammers were forging him anew.

His body expanded—

From four meters to nearly six meters tall.

Rock armor hardened.

Dragon might surged.

And then—

The final barrier shattered.

[Pokémon: Tyrantrum]

[Strength: 1.81 (Totem – Early Stage)]

[Type: Rock / Dragon]

[Ability: Rock Head]

[Potential: Divine Tier III]

Victor stared in disbelief.

"A Totem-level Tyrantrum…"

Directly from mid-King to Totem.

This completely broke his understanding of growth.

Ethan smiled.

"Dad, this treasure came from you."

"You should thank him."

Tyrantrum turned, eyes squinting gently, and nodded toward Victor.

Victor inhaled sharply.

What kind of monster did I give birth to…?

Still—

He was proud.

The stronger Ethan became, the safer his future.

After that, father and son chatted casually.

Victor mentioned something important—

After the New Year, Ethan would travel to the White Elephant Alliance to attend the

International Newly Promoted Five-Star Trainer Exchange Tournament.

Unlike rookie exchanges, this was a pure battle of strength among new Five-Star trainers.

The prize?

Still undisclosed.

But Ethan's system had already flagged it as a Red Fate.

Which meant—

Either a Champion-potential Pokémon,

or a legendary-grade training ground.

Ethan knew.

This tournament mattered.
