Chapter 91 - Yanhuang (⊙_⊙)?

I Just Swore Allegiance—and I've Already Entered Godhood?!

Larvitar Hatches!**

Yanhuang wasn't joking.

He was completely serious.

Back then, the reason Yanhuang had agreed to Celebi's invitation—

entering the Space-Time Paradise and serving as its guardian—

was rooted in a single obsession.

Breaking into the God-tier realm.

The Arcanine lineage already possessed long lifespans.

And Yanhuang's extinct ancient subspecies lived even longer.

The reason was a unique state known as Meditative Stasis.

When Ethan and the others first entered the Volcanic Paradise,

the stone-statue-like Yanhuang they saw was precisely this state.

In meditative stasis, Yanhuang was akin to hibernation—

energy consumption dropped to almost nothing, sustained purely by ambient magma.

Aging slowed to a crawl.

Coupled with Celebi's blessing, Yanhuang had survived for over five hundred years.

And in all those centuries, he wanted just one thing—

To step through that final door.

Yet five hundred years passed.

Yanhuang could see the gate to godhood.

But no matter how hard he tried—

That door remained firmly shut.

Again and again, despair crept in.

He even began to believe that godhood was forever beyond his reach.

Until now.

Metagross's casual words—

"I just followed my boss, and then I broke through"—

had reignited Yanhuang's long-dead hope.

He didn't know if following Ethan would truly let him advance.

But he wanted to try.

He had already lived long enough.

Parents. Friends. Even offspring—

all likely erased by the river of time.

If he could break through, wonderful.

If not…

Then at least he could leave the paradise,

see what the world looked like centuries later—

Before his life finally ended.

And truthfully…

Yanhuang liked Ethan.

The young human was powerful, yet humble.

Strong, yet willing to learn.

In Ethan, Yanhuang saw the shadow of an old acquaintance—

someone brilliant in youth, yet respectful to all who had skill and wisdom.

So to Yanhuang, spending the final chapter of his life

witnessing the rise of another prodigy—

didn't sound bad at all.

A Very Direct Steel-Type

Yanhuang was old, but… shy.

He felt awkward voicing his wish directly.

Unfortunately for him—

Metagross was extremely straightforward.

Noticing Yanhuang repeatedly glancing at Ethan, Metagross bluntly asked

whether Yanhuang was "interested in its boss."

The phrasing was… questionable.

But Yanhuang didn't deny it.

He admitted he wanted to leave the paradise, see the outside world,

and—if Ethan didn't mind—follow him for the rest of his life.

Metagross immediately slapped its chest.

"Leave it to me."

And before Yanhuang could react—

Metagross shot off like a missile.

Ethan's Decision

At that moment, Ethan was touring the Space-Time Paradise under Celebi's guidance.

Seeing Metagross rush over, he looked surprised.

"Done talking with Senior Yanhuang already?"

Metagross scratched its head.

"Not exactly, Boss."

"He said he wants to leave the paradise."

"And… he thinks you're a good trainer."

"He'd like to follow you for the rest of his life."

"He's embarrassed, so he asked me to ask."

Ethan froze.

He truly hadn't expected this.

He knew Yanhuang was a golden opportunity—

he'd even been thinking about how to persuade him.

And now—

Yanhuang had volunteered.

Ethan glanced toward Yanhuang.

Yanhuang gave an awkward, stiff smile.

"…That steel kid really has no tact," he grumbled internally.

Instead of answering immediately, Ethan turned to Celebi.

"Celebi, what do you think?"

Celebi smiled.

"You don't need my permission."

"Yanhuang is a resident, not my subordinate."

"And even without him, the paradise will not lack guardians."

As she spoke—

A torrent of water surged from the Ocean Paradise, revealing Primarina.

A massive Hippowdon surfaced briefly in the Desert Paradise.

And in the Ice Paradise—

Ethan saw a towering, azure crystal giant.

Regice.

Only then did Ethan truly grasp how terrifyingly deep the Space-Time Paradise ran.

He turned back and smiled.

"Yanhuang, if Celebi agrees—

then welcome to my team."

"But once you join, no bullying the younger ones."

Yanhuang erupted in laughter, flames roaring skyward.

"Rest assured, Boss!"

"I'm a gentle, kind-hearted senior Pokémon!"

Instant Godhood

The system chimed.

Before the sound even faded—

A mysterious force surged into Yanhuang's body.

In an instant—

The door he'd pushed against for three hundred years

cracked open.

Then—

It shattered.

A terrifying wave of power erupted outward.

Yanhuang's aura surpassed even Metagross's.

Five centuries of accumulation exploded all at once.

"God-tier…"

"God-tier!!"

"I DID IT!!!"

Yanhuang's information appeared before Ethan.

Ethan exhaled slowly.

"So it really is Fire–Rock…"

Yanhuang lowered his head respectfully.

"Your subordinate Yanhuang thanks you, my lord."

"…My lord?"

Ethan blinked, then laughed.

"Alright, alright."

"Go rest and exchange experiences with Metagross."

Yanhuang obeyed without hesitation.

A New Life Is Born

Not long after—

A Poké Ball at Ethan's waist burst open.

Meloetta flew out, clutching an egg.

"Ethan! Larvitar is about to hatch!"

The egg shook violently.

Celebi smiled and gently tapped it with her finger.

Life energy surged.

Crack.

A tiny horn broke through the shell.

Moments later—

A small, green Pokémon leapt out, eyes bright and fearless.

"Larvi~!"

Ethan smiled from the heart.

"Larvitar."

"Let's take good care of each other."
