Ethan's Selfless Contribution — Direct Promotion to Elite Four?!
Xie Di (⊙_⊙): "So… I Should Just Leave?"**
The moment Noivern entered its Storm Dragon state,
a terrifying pressure flooded the entire battlefield.
"What kind of form is that?! Why did Noivern suddenly turn into this?!"
"This aura… just from presence alone, it's already at mid–Elite Four level, isn't it?!"
Shock rippled through the stadium.
Every Five-Star Trainer present stared at the colossal storm dragon in the sky, utterly dumbfounded.
None of them had ever seen a Pokémon form this outrageous.
At that moment, Ethan's calm voice rang out.
"Noivern."
"Maximum-power Boomburst!"
The Storm Dragon's eyes flared.
In the next instant, a cataclysmic soundwave, wrapped in raging winds, detonated outward.
Sound and storm overlapped—
and the battlefield was instantly swallowed whole.
Seeing Noivern counterattack, the remaining trainers shouted commands.
Heracross raised Iron Defense.
Abomasnow erected an Ice Wall.
Farigiraf deployed Reflect.
But Noivern's Ability was Infiltrator.
Defense meant nothing.
Energy attacks pierced straight through barriers, landing with full force.
Under the amplification of the Storm Dragon state—
Several Pokémon with weaker defenses were blasted unconscious on the spot.
Staraptor, once soaring proudly through the skies,
now lay upside-down on the ground, eyes spinning.
Krookodile tried to burrow underground,
only to be torn out by violent wind currents and slammed back down—
its brain battered relentlessly by piercing sonic waves.
In a single exchange—
Out of the original nine Pokémon that had joined forces against Noivern,
only three remained standing:
Mega Heracross (Sun Lin)Farigiraf (Zhao Yu)Abomasnow (Han Wei)
Even so, their condition was visibly terrible.
They had survived—but only barely.
"We can't keep defending!"
"If we don't strike back, we'll be crushed one by one!"
"Charge into the sky and shatter the storm!"
"Heracross — Sky Uppercut!"
Among the three, Sun Lin was the most hot-blooded—and the most decisive.
He understood clearly:
passive defense would only lead to total defeat.
The only way forward was breakthrough by force.
Zhao Yu immediately followed.
"Farigiraf, use Psychic—clear a path!"
Farigiraf roared as violent psychic energy surged upward,
trying to carve out a safe corridor straight to Noivern.
Even though Abomasnow was in the worst shape,
Han Wei grit his teeth.
"Abomasnow—go all out!"
"Blizzard!!"
Snow and ice roared skyward, combining into a desperate, all-or-nothing assault.
Three elite Pokémon.
Three trainers betting everything.
It looked heroic.
But in front of absolute power—
Heroism meant nothing.
Ethan's expression never changed.
He simply spoke two words.
"Hurricane."
The seal on Noivern's storm control—
already shattered by its Storm Dragon state—meant nothing now.
"Noiverrr!!"
The storm dragon coiled and ascended.
In that moment—
A hurricane ten times stronger than before erupted.
The sky above Kyoto darkened as if the apocalypse had arrived.
If not for the ten Aegislash desperately reinforcing the arena—
That single hurricane could have devastated half the city.
The storm came fast.
And ended just as fast.
When the winds finally dispersed—
Noivern hovered in the air, breathing heavily.
The attack had cost it dearly.
But below—
Mega Heracross had reverted to normal form, unconscious.
Farigiraf and Abomasnow lay motionless, critically injured.
The battlefield itself looked like the aftermath of the end of the world.
The referee swallowed hard.
Only one Pokémon remained capable of battle.
"Winner of the Elite Four Preliminaries—"
"Ethan!"
"Congratulations! You have earned qualification for the Elite Four Challenge!"
Ethan smiled faintly as he looked at Noivern.
"We did it."
Noivern let out a proud roar.
This was its first true battle—
and it had crushed every opponent.
Afterward, Ethan immediately sent out Hatterene to heal Noivern.
Not only that—
He had her heal everyone else's Pokémon as well.
Thanks to the Rainbow Feather, Hatterene's healing power had grown absurdly strong.
Grassy Terrain spread across the field.
Life Dew fell like rain.
In moments, Pokémon that had been on the brink were restored to fighting condition.
Expressions of gratitude filled the arena.
Sun Lin walked over first.
"Ethan, my boy—your Hatterene's healing is unbelievable."
"Thank you. Truly."
Soon, every Five-Star Trainer—including Zhao Yu—personally offered thanks.
They had been defeated.
But they were defeated fairly.
Noivern's power left no room for doubt.
Sun Lin couldn't hold back his curiosity.
"That form just now… what exactly was it?"
"It felt almost like Mega Evolution."
Ethan smiled.
"It doesn't have a fixed name."
"It's simply letting a Pokémon resonate with the natural energy of the world."
"Noivern's state is called Storm Dragon."
"It's the fusion of its own Flying-type energy with ambient wind."
The crowd fell silent.
Ancient Donghuang records described similar techniques—
methods of borrowing heaven and earth's momentum.
They had been lost to history.
Now—
They had returned.
After a brief pause, Ethan continued calmly.
"If the seniors are interested, I'm willing to submit the training principles to the League."
The room froze.
Even Zuo Shenghui was stunned.
Such a technique would normally be guarded like a family heirloom.
Yet Ethan offered it freely.
Zuo Shenghui rose at once.
"Well said!"
"The League will never forget such a contribution!"
"From today onward—Ethan, the League will grant you unrestricted access to resources."
"And unless it harms the League's interests, you may freely command League Trainers."
The authority granted was enormous.
Sun Lin immediately proposed a name:
"Let's call it Heaven-Earth Origination !"
Heaven and Earth—
and Yuan… Ethan himself.
No one objected.
At that moment, Ethan's prestige within the Donghuang League skyrocketed.
Someone even muttered—
"With contributions like this, direct promotion to Elite Four wouldn't be unreasonable…"
At that—
Xie Di went completely numb.
"…Then should I just resign now?"
