Chapter 99 - Mega Evolution × Heaven-and-Earth Convergence!

Aura War God Lucario Solo Clears Elite Four Xie Di!!**

As Talonflame crashed to the ground, unconscious, the surrounding Five-Star Trainers froze on the spot.

They hadn't expected Talonflame to lose that fast.

More importantly—

The technique Mega Lucario had just unleashed left them utterly shaken.

That terrifying move wasn't some completely new skill.

Aura Burst was, at its core, a further evolution of Aura Sphere.

The principle hadn't changed.

The difference lay in execution.

Instead of firing Aura outward, Mega Lucario compressed and detonated it, turning Aura itself into a devastating point-blank explosion.

Xie Di stared at his fallen Talonflame, his expression growing increasingly serious.

But he wasn't discouraged.

"Go—Infernape!"

"This battle ends with you!"

The moment Infernape appeared, the flames atop its head erupted violently.

Its fighting spirit was blazing.

Another Elite Four–mid stage Pokémon.

"Figures," Ethan thought calmly.

"An Elite Four's roster really has no weak links."

Without hesitation, Ethan seized the initiative.

"Lucario—speed up!"

"Bone Rush!"

Whoosh!

A solid-looking energy bone formed in Mega Lucario's hands as he exploded forward.

Seeing Lucario close the distance instantly, Xie Di knew defense was pointless.

Only offense could answer offense.

"Infernape—Flare Blitz Close Combat!"

Infernape roared, fists igniting as it charged head-on.

In an instant, the two collided.

Their movements were so fast they left behind only afterimages.

Infernape's attacks were wild, explosive, relentless—like an unquenchable inferno.

But—

Against Aura perception, speed alone wasn't enough.

Every movement Infernape made was captured by Lucario's Aura and fed back in real time.

To Lucario, it was as if Infernape's future actions were already written.

Strike after strike was predicted.

Every blow countered.

Infernape failed to land a single clean hit.

Lucario's Bone Rush, infused with Ground-type energy, smashed into Infernape dozens of times.

Even a body of steel couldn't endure that.

Let alone a Fire/Fighting Pokémon weak to Ground.

Moments later—

The once-ferocious Infernape collapsed.

If the Monkey King truly mastered the staff, perhaps this would've gone differently.

But reality was cruel.

And Xie Di didn't pause.

His true ace stepped forward.

The Elite Four's Pillar Appears

Magmortar.

Elite Four–late stage.

Pure Fire-type.

A Pokémon capable of firing flames exceeding two thousand degrees purely through physical output.

The moment Magmortar appeared, the already scorching battlefield turned oppressive.

Flames rolled off its body endlessly.

Ethan's expression tightened.

"Fire Body… this is bad."

"If this drags on, Lucario's oxygen intake will suffer."

Lucario was a Fighting-type.

A carbon-based lifeform.

He needed oxygen.

High temperature meant thinner air.

A prolonged fight here would tilt things heavily against Lucario.

"Lucario—Aura Burst!"

Aura surged forward again—

But Xie Di reacted instantly.

"Magmortar—Hyper Beam!"

Energy gathered at the cannon-like arms.

BOOOOM!

Hyper Beam fired.

At the same moment, Aura Burst detonated.

The clash ripped the battlefield apart like an apocalypse.

Shockwaves tore through the island—

Yet neither Pokémon took damage.

But the heat kept rising.

Lucario's breathing became ragged.

Ethan clenched his fist.

"Lucario… are you okay?"

Lucario struggled—but nodded.

He refused to retreat.

Ethan had considered recalling him and switching to Skeledirge.

But seeing Lucario's resolve—

He stayed silent.

Lucario hadn't backed down.

So neither would Ethan.

Yet the deadlock remained.

Aura Burst alone couldn't overpower Magmortar.

Close combat was dangerous.

Then—

Lucario turned his head.

Aura pulsed.

A direct Aura-to-mind communication.

"Lu."

Ethan stiffened.

"…You want to use that?"

Lucario nodded, eyes unwavering.

Ethan hesitated.

Then exhaled slowly.

"…Alright."

"Then we finish this fast."

Lucario faced Magmortar once more.

"LU—!"

Aura that had been spread across the battlefield surged back into his body.

In an instant—

Lucario's presence ascended.

Blue Aura flared around him like burning flames.

The form hadn't changed.

But the pressure was on an entirely different level.

Sun Lin's eyes widened.

"…Don't tell me."

"This Lucario also mastered Heaven-and-Earth Convergence?!"

The resemblance was undeniable.

This was a stacked state—

Mega Evolution plus Heaven-and-Earth Convergence.

Ethan had a name for it.

War God Mode.

He rarely used it.

Because Lucario couldn't fully control it yet.

Power skyrocketed—

But so did Aura consumption.

Three minutes.

That was the absolute limit.

After that, Lucario would fall without the enemy lifting a finger.

Ethan took a deep breath.

"Go, Lucario!"

"Extreme-Speed Burst Punch!"

BOOM!

Lucario vanished.

Reappeared beside Magmortar.

No one even saw him move.

A single punch landed.

Despite Magmortar's terrifying heat, the solidified Aura shielded Lucario completely.

That seemingly simple strike—

Sent Magmortar flying nearly a hundred meters.

If the island were smaller, it would've been punched straight into the sea.

Magmortar rolled, eyes white, unconscious.

Xie Di stared.

Speechless.

One Pokémon.

Four defeats.

He laughed bitterly.

"So that's how it is…"

"Then—only one left."

Final Clash

"Come out—Incineroar!"

A towering figure emerged.

Elite Four peak.

Xie Di raised a dark, peculiar crystal.

"Even if we lose—"

"We won't be swept."

"Incineroar—Malicious Moonsault!"

Black Z-energy erupted.

Incineroar leapt skyward, flames exploding across half the sky.

Like a falling meteor of destruction.

Ethan's pupils shrank.

"So this is Xie Di's trump card…"

"Then we'll answer in full!"

"Lucario—Aura Burst!!"

Lucario drained every last drop of Aura.

A colossal Aura Sphere formed.

One falling from the heavens.

One rising from the earth.

When they collided—

Space twisted.

The sea roared.

The shockwave cracked the defensive barrier.

Spectators gasped in horror.

The explosion faded.

The battlefield reappeared.

Incineroar knelt, body glowing red, unable to move.

Lucario stood—

Barely.

Then—

Thud.

Incineroar collapsed.

Silence.

Then—

Left Shenghui's voice rang out.

"Since Incineroar has lost the ability to battle—"

"Elite Four Xie Di can no longer continue."

"The winner of this Elite Four Challenge is—"

"Ethan!"

"From today onward—"

"Ethan is officially one of the Four Heavenly Kings of the Donghuang League!"

At last, Lucario relaxed.

His eyes closed.

He fell backward—

A peaceful smile on his face.

Because he knew—

He was no longer the discarded Riolu once used only for breeding.

He was the Aura War God—

The Pokémon who helped his Trainer ascend to the Elite Four.
