Chapter 142 - Chapter 143 A Normal Human, but with a Punch Stronger than Spider-Man!

In Matt's perception, the previously calm aura of Makiya suddenly became unfathomable. A massive surge of wave power, appearing out of nowhere, rapidly filled Makiya's entire being.

'What's going on? Isn't he a master of internal power?' Matt was deeply shocked. 'This wave energy is so powerful—why didn't I sense it at all just now?'

Wave power never lied. Makiya was now undeniably a powerful Asura. This was what confused Matt the most; the chairman before him was shrouded in a shimmering azure light, with thousands of lightning bolts entwining around the outward-spreading wave energy. His presence was as deep as an abyss and as heavy as a prison, a world apart from the aura he had shown in the lobby.

"Who are you? Do we know each other?" A deep, gravelly voice echoed across the top floor. Wilson Fisk, who had just finished dealing with Matt, reached out to straighten his slightly wrinkled suit as he spoke.

Kingpin's original name was Wilson Fisk. He had taken the name 'Kingpin' after rising to the position of gang leader, signifying his role as the emperor of the underworld.

His physique was exceptionally massive and robust. His thick, broad shoulders were like a double-door refrigerator, and the specially tailored, oversized white suit he wore looked bloated on him. However, beneath that fabric was not disgusting flab or fat, but finely honed muscle as hard as granite.

The earlier fight had destroyed the chandeliers on the ceiling. In the dim light, Kingpin stood like a towering, steep mountain, his mere presence radiating a chilling pressure.

"Does it matter if we know each other? I went out for a stroll after dinner, and fate told me there was someone here who needed to die. So, I came up to do a bit of community service. Isn't that perfectly normal?" Makiya quipped casually, not taking Kingpin seriously at all.

Makiya's words provoked a ferocious grin from Kingpin. Since he had made a name for himself, it had been a long time since anyone dared to speak to him like that. Those who acted arrogant in front of him, regardless of their status or position, usually ended up with a permanent reservation at the bottom of the Hudson River, encased in cement.

Although Makiya's azure glow made him look formidable, Kingpin was equally confident in himself. Having weathered countless storms over the years, he had fought super-powered individuals before, and the result was always the same: he was the one standing at the end.

Makiya raised the short sword high, and the azure wave power transformed into a massive blade of energy that detached from the sword. The interweaving gold and blue arc was as fast as a flash of lightning, tracing a brilliant trajectory through the air.

"Oh? It seems you have powers just like that useless one over there." Kingpin bared his teeth. His head was like a massive cannonball, his bald scalp as smooth and polished as Nick Fury's.

Kingpin chose not to dodge. The underworld lord clearly cared a great deal about his momentum and style. He stood his ground with a steady expression and reached out both hands, intending to catch Makiya's Shura Evil Light Slash head-on.

Makiya's eyes narrowed slightly. He saw that Kingpin was wearing something black on his hands—likely a pair of specially made gauntlets.

Boom!

The slash collided with the black gauntlets. Wave power continuously battered Kingpin's body, and the sound of clashing metal echoed across the top floor. Kingpin's massive frame was pushed back continuously under the immense impact.

Roar!

Kingpin let out a non-human roar. His solid muscles granted him immense strength. The specialized gauntlets on his hands began to crack, and the ground beneath him, unable to bear the burden, shattered into fragments piece by piece.

As the wave power was steadily consumed, the luminous blade gradually shrank. Kingpin dispersed the force through his hands to the rest of his body, taking the opportunity to gasp twice to recover his strength. Then, with a sudden burst of power from his arms, the black gauntlets shattered completely, and the blade of light exploded into specks of starlight.

"Phew." Kingpin tossed aside the metal fragments in his hands, ignoring the fine cuts on his palms. He used one hand to casually tilt his neck. "Not a bad attack. Much stronger than that trash from before."

The ground had been plowed into two deep furrows by Kingpin's feet. Fortunately, to accommodate Kingpin's abnormal weight, the floor here had been built very thick; otherwise, he would have fallen through to the level below by now.

Being a passive target was not in Kingpin's nature. Without waiting for Makiya to reply, he slammed his foot onto the ground. His knotted muscles bulged, stretching his slim-fit suit to its limits. Every step he took was like a heavy hammer hitting the earth, making the floor tremble.

Although Kingpin was officially established as having no superpowers or mutant bloodlines, as a normal human, his physical attributes had long since surpassed human concepts.

Spider-Man was one of Kingpin's arch-enemies. In the original works, this guy had even caught Spider-Man's fist with his bare hands and had once suppressed Spider-Man in terms of pure strength, which was simply absurd.

Spider-Man's strength after his mutation was between 15 to 20 tons—in some high-fantasy novel planes, that would be enough to shatter the void with a single punch. Yet Kingpin, a supposedly normal human, could take a punch head-on, remain unscathed, and then rely on his superior combat skills to beat Spider-Man to a pulp.

According to official settings, ninety-nine percent of Kingpin's body mass was muscle. His strength was also set between 15 to 20 tons, and he possessed extraordinary intelligence. He sparred daily with top martial arts masters from around the world, taking them on multiple at a time. The training sessions rarely lasted more than thirty seconds before all the experts were beaten into the ground.

Thud!

His final step slammed heavily into the floor. Kingpin clenched his fist and swung it with a sudden burst of speed. The cannonball-like fist created a sonic boom in the air, bringing with it a massive gust of wind.

Azure light erupted around Makiya as wave power propelled his body. He shifted laterally in an instant, dodging Kingpin's heavy blow.

With his physical stats, he could easily have tanked the hit. The opponent's physique was indeed impressive for this world, but the physical standards of the One Piece world were clearly superior. However, since he had agreed to show Matt what a true Asura looked like, Makiya only intended to use Asura techniques for now.

"Little bug, stop scurrying around." Kingpin looked fierce and arrogant, his brow arched in a constant look of disdain. However, when his gaze caught up to Makiya, that disdain quickly turned into surprise.

Ice Wave Sword.

Wave power transformed into frost. Sharp ice blades spread rapidly across the floor like transparent spikes erupting from underground. They collided with the soles of Kingpin's shoes, sending sparks flying.

This guy's shoes were also specialized; the unknown metal components seemed to have high durability. However, the cold completely permeated the shoes, constantly assailing the muscle-bound monster's feet.

Kingpin quickly jumped away. He reached into his trouser pocket, pulled out a remote, and pressed it. His desk drawer slid open automatically, and a metal cane flew out from within.

Kingpin immediately lunged toward the cane in mid-air. Makiya's attack followed him like a shadow. As he swung the short sword, the wave power changed again. A scorching heat attached itself to the ground, erupting half a second later.

Fire Wave Sword!

A surging pillar of fire rose from the ground, sweeping toward Kingpin with the force of an overwhelming tide. The triple pillars of fire erupted in succession, slamming hard into Kingpin's abdomen while he was still in the air.

Boom!

Kingpin's massive body was instantly sent flying, crashing into the ground like a heavy boulder. The exquisite tiles were pulverized, and even the solid concrete floor was permeated by the immense force, turning to dust.

Makiya's dynamic vision accurately captured the moment of impact. Kingpin's suit was definitely something special; the fabric could withstand extreme temperatures, and at the moment of impact, a large amount of electric current surged through it, greatly cushioning the shock.

The cane tumbled toward Kingpin. Lying on the ground, he snatched it and immediately pressed a button on the top.

Matt, hiding in a corner to watch the fight, immediately noticed something was wrong. A rustling sound came from within the wall behind him. The sound of machinery echoed through the metal walls, and then the wall surface beside him split open, revealing a cylindrical object.

Six pitch-black gun barrels emitted a cold luster. The orange-yellow bullets on the belt were ready to fire, like a beast waiting to devour its prey.

A Vulcan Gatling gun!

Matt's perception swept along the walls. He discovered that every two meters, a section of the wall had recessed, and from behind them emerged a Vulcan Gatling. Under the control of an automated system, the barrels adjusted their aim, pointing directly at Makiya.

"Watch out!" Matt immediately shouted at the top of his lungs. "There are Gatlings hidden in the walls! Get out of the way!"

Makiya's perception had long since captured the movement in the surrounding walls. He gave Matt a slight nod and raised one hand above his head. Countless threads of wave power gathered in his palm, with silver snakes dancing and lightning flashing.

A gold and blue vortex spread out from his palm, covering the entire top floor in less than half a second. A massive suction force erupted from Makiya's palm, and dense lightning flowed around him, making him look like a thunder god descended to earth.

Peerless Wave!

Amidst the flashing electricity, the devices controlling the Gatling guns failed one after another. The circuits exploded with sparks, and billowing smoke spread inside the walls, drifting through the gaps into the hall.

"Cough, cough..." Kingpin spat out a cloud of black smoke and crawled up from the floor. The white suit on his body had been pierced by the massive current, and the defensive equipment installed within it had failed.

Kingpin hurriedly pressed the button on his cane and found that its functions were still intact. He breathed a sigh of relief.

The enemy's abilities were too bizarre. For the first time, he didn't trust his muscles quite so much. After a moment of cold reflection, he realized he had to rely on the cane to have any chance of turning the tide.

The long-lost sense of crisis made Kingpin feel a surge of excitement. He did not fear crisis, because his entire life had been built on overcoming it; he was long accustomed to it.

"Who exactly are you?" Kingpin forced a low voice from his throat, the gravelly tone echoing through the floor. The rough skin on his face actually appeared only slightly blackened.

After being scorched by fire and shocked by electricity, a normal person's skin would have long since died and festered. But this guy seemed largely unaffected. His broad, solid jaw looked as if it were made of titanium rather than flesh and blood.

What kind of Batman chin was that!

"Who am I? The one who will kill you."

Makiya suppressed the urge to make a sarcastic remark and charged at Kingpin with the short sword. He swung it several times in the air; ice blades raced forward, fire pillars exploded, and the ceiling of the top floor became riddled with holes. Rubble mixed with a massive amount of dust rained down continuously.
