Rameses waited for Kai's soul light to fall into that steady, pulsing rhythm that signalled he was deep asleep and gently disentangled his arm from underneath his head, laying him back against the silk cushions.
Almost immediately, Kai twisted to the side, flinging his arm out across the bed and twisting the sheets away from his body.
Rameses shook his head in mild amusement and bent his head down to kiss the side of his pretty face of delicate features, calm and settled in sleep.
And then, his eyes flickered up to the evidence he was going to have to hide.
He had been far too distracted by the feel of him, by the way his broken voice had pleaded for him to repeat those words over and over that he simply hadn't noticed what Kai had done to the bed.
