The sigil to the God of Travellers was burned into the sign above the Tavern; the perfect features of her face that, even in profile, appeared distinctly haughty and prideful.
'Of course your mark is just your face - so vain.'
Kai shook his head in distaste, and then froze with his hand raised to the rustic oak door, soft rune light and the murmur of voices spilling out from beneath it, and let out a long breath.
The heat of Rami's palm pressed against his lower back.
His husky voice was gentle and soothing as it brushed past his ear:
"Kai, we don't have to do this. We can just put it behind us. A new start, remember?"
Kai glanced up at his impassive expression, noting the tension in the silvery-blue of his eyes.
Rami clearly didn't wish to do this either. Genevieve made him uncomfortable.
